— AVERY POV —

I sat there quietly, my back propped against the hospital bed, trying to make sense of everything that had happened. My fingers gripped the thin blanket as if holding onto it would keep me grounded. My heart hadn’t stopped racing since I woke up.

The door opened, and I didn’t even need to look up to know it was him. His presence filled the room before his voice ever did. Damon.

He walked in with heavy steps, and even though his face was calm—too calm—I could feel it. Fury. It clung to him like a storm ready to break. His jaw was tight, his eyes too sharp, too cold for comfort. He tried to hide it, but I wasn’t blind. I had spent two weeks under his protection. I had learned to read him—at least a little.

“You’re awake,” his voice was softer than I expected, deep and rich, wrapping around me like a blanket of steel.

“Yes,” I whispered, my throat still dry.

He came closer, pulling a chair next to my bed, and lowered himself into it. His eyes scanned my face lik

  • The Wrong Alpha’s Heir    Chapter 117

—•AVERY POV•— Jessica stiffened. Taylor’s mouth fell slightly open, his brows knitting together in surprise. Someone in the crowd muttered under their breath, but loud enough for others to hear, “Why would the Alpha choose Miss Alice? Everyone expected Miss Jessica to win. It was obvious.” A murmur spread among the group. Some confused whispers, others surprised glances. Jessica’s fake smile was still fixed on her face, though her knuckles were turning white around her golf club.Damon leaned back lazily, one arm resting on the chair. “Because,” he said in that deep, calm voice that made everyone fall silent, “from the very first swing, Miss Alice had already won. She only let Jessica take the round.” Gasps filled the air. Even I froze. Jessica blinked rapidly, completely thrown off. “W-What?” she stammered. “But Alpha Damon,” Micheal said, laughing nervously, “we all saw Jessica win that round. She hit the mark.” “But Alpha Damon,” Micheal said, laughing nervously. “we all

  • The Wrong Alpha’s Heir    Chapter 116

—•AVERY•— The field was so wide that when the wind blew, it carried faint laughter and the smell of trimmed grass with it. Anticipation filled the air. I stood beside Taylor, holding the golf club in my hand, my palms feeling a little sweaty—not from nervousness but from restraint. Jessica stood opposite me, smiling like she already won. Her lips were painted the same shade of red as the one I remembered from the night she ruined my life. Lucas stepped forward, holding a whistle between his fingers and a paper in his hand. He was cheerful, the kind of man who enjoyed the tension in the air. “Alright, everyone! The rules are simple. We’re doing ten rounds. Accuracy and distance count. Each round’s score will be calculated, and by the end… we’ll know who’s the best player today. Fair enough?” Everyone nodded, and a few excited claps followed. Jessica fixed her gloves and winked at Damon before looking at me with a smug grin. I simply stared back. Damon was still seated at the ta

  • The Wrong Alpha’s Heir    Chapter 115

—•AVERY•— The air in the golf course shifted like a tide that had suddenly gone still. Damon’s presence was like a heavy storm cloud — dark, suffocating, and impossible to ignore. He stood there with that same commanding aura I’d seen the night I snuck into his mansion — the night I nearly got caught. Just the memory made my stomach twist. Would he recognize me? I was wearing a mask, my hair covered, my eyes almost unseen…but Damon wasn’t like other men. He was the Alpha. If anyone could sense me —truly sense me— it was him.I swallowed hard, forcing myself to breathe normally. I sat straight, trying to appear calm even though my pulse was running wild. If Damon remembered— if he somehow connected me to that night —then everything I’d built as Alice White could crumble in seconds. All around, I heard chairs scrape against marble as people hurried to rise.“Alpha Damon,” voices echoed in perfect unison.Everyone stood to bow — everyone except Taylor and me.Taylor sat coolly beside m

—•AVERY•—Taylor’s car smelled faintly of leather and mint—clean, masculine, and strangely comforting. I sat beside him, my eyes fixed on the blur of the road as the city passed by in slow rhythm. The silence between us wasn’t uncomfortable, but it was heavy–filled with things unsaid. Then, out of nowhere, Taylor spoke. “You hate car rides, don’t you?”The question came out of nowhere, so sudden that I blinked and turned to him, startled. “What?”He looked at me briefly, a small amused smile forming on his lips. “You hate them,” he said again, like it wasn’t a question this time but something he knew for sure.My eyebrows furrowed. “How–how did you know?”Taylor chuckled under his breath, shaking his head slightly as his hand gripped the steering wheel. “It’s written all over you,” he said with that calm tone of his. “You keep fidgeting with your hands. You stare out the window but never really look at anything. You’re just waiting for the ride to end.”A small, embarrassed laugh esc

—AVERY— That was when I saw her. Jess —curled up in a corner, her shoulders trembling, eyes red and wet with tears. My heart dropped. “Jess!” I rushed forward, crouching in front of her. “What happened? Who did this?” Jess quickly looked up, her teary eyes darting to the others standing behind me. She didn’t say anything. Her lips trembled slightly, but she just shook her head. I turned my glare on the other women. “Out. All of you. Now.” They didn’t hesitate—within seconds, the hallway was empty. I turned back to Jess, my voice gentler now. “Jess, talk to me. What happened?” She sniffed, wiping her nose with the back of her hand. Her voice came out small and broken. “Ryan… he threatened me.” I blinked. “What?” The word came out sharper than I intended. Jess clenched her hands tightly together. “He… he cornered me in the parking lot. He said if I don’t convince you to revoke your order, he’ll make Justin’s life in the pack miserable.” My chest tightened. Justin. He

  • The Wrong Alpha’s Heir    Chapter 112

—•AVERY•— I watched Ryan, silent and unreadable, though inside, something bitter stirred. If only he knew.If only he knew the woman standing before him was the same “weak omega” he had once thrown away without a second thought. If only he knew Avery—the one he mocked, spat on, rejected—was the one now looking down on him.I didn’t say another word. I just stared at him, the corner of my lips barely curving, not into a smile, but into something sharper. He didn’t know that the woman he had destroyed once was now the one holding all the power.Strictly speaking, Ryan Waters had no idea who he was really shaking hands with. And I had no intention of telling him.Ryan was still smiling when I met his gaze, confident and cocky, like he already assumed the meeting would go his way.“I’m afraid you came for nothing, Mr Waters,” I said flatly. His brows furrowed. “Excuse me?”“I said,” I repeated slowly, letting each word fall sharp like glass, “We have no business to discuss.”He blinked,
