'Sweetness..!' I hear his desperate voice echo in my mind. I was terrified that he might be near! Frantically, I scan my room, afraid that I'll see him pop out of a corner. Or from behind a door or something. My body trembles as that ^FEAR^ rises in me as I slowly sit up a little and squeak out a timid, "hello?" I listen closely, only to be met with silence. My eyes darted around the room for any sign of movement. Nothing. I sit up in bed a bit more, my heart pounding like overused drums at a rock concert. As my quivering lips dare to whisper, "h.. honey?" I held my breath. Although I don't want him to answer if he can hear me! I know he would be mad at me for choosing Tank over him. And nothing good can come from me going back with him. I'm finally free of his clutches, but I'm still terrified of him. I don't hear anything but the continuous drum solo in my chest. I called out a tiny bit louder this time, "Honey?" But I heard nothing but my terrified self.
