Barbara's story

Sean’s POV

Adina looked about to cry as she recollected what the woman had told her. Sean felt powerless as he had no idea how to help her. He continued to rub her feet. He was hoping that it would bring her some comfort.

He looked up and met Colin’s eyes. He could see his own emotions mirrored back at him. Sometimes there was nothing either of them could do. They just needed to be here for their mate.

“She and Brian were from different packs but attended the same high school. They didn’t know each other. Barbara said she didn’t even know Brian existed. When she turned eighteen, she found her mate; it was one of her friends,” Adina told them.

“Two days after she turned eighteen, she was studying with some friends in the library. She went to find a book they needed, and Brian attacked her and marked her,” Adina continued. Both Sean and Colin let out a low growl.
