Colin’s POV

Colin looked at the teenager in front of him. How could he not know what a true mate was? Better yet, how could this boy have been living in his pack with no one noticing what his father had been teaching him?

Sean was the first to recover from the shock of Johnny’s question.

“A true mate is the one that the moon goddess has chosen for you—your perfect match. Once you are eighteen and meet, there is instant recognition,” he explained to the boy.

“But then why would you need to take a mate?” Johnny asked.

“Take a mate?” Colin asked.

“Yeah. Dad explained that when you find someone you like and are above eighteen, you take them as your mate by biting their neck. He said that the best thing to do is to surprise them as it can hurt, and you don’t want them to know it’s coming. So, you hide somewhere that there aren’t many other people, and you know they will be at,” he explained.

Colin and Sean both growled, and Adina let out a surprised yelp. Johnny looked scared.

“You will do
