LOGINChapter 002
“Shit”
Jaime cursed for like a hundred times since waking up today.
By the time he reached the school, he was already four classes late.
He looked at the clock at the hallway, 11.00am, he could still believed that he had fainted out of no reason, for 4 fucking hours.
“Damn it…” he whispered under his breath.
There was no point rushing now. The teachers would already have marked him absent. Another strike against his already tarnished Image.
He leaned against the cold lockers for a moment, chest tight.
He still could not figure out why the pain, and why did it feel personal to him. Was it related to his wolf…
Or was it something worse?
The whispers, the rumors, they weren’t entirely lies.
He rubbed at his chest, right over the empty space where a wolf should have been.
Only silence answered him.
“Watch it, freak,” snarled Damon, Alpha Derrick's son, slamming his shoulder into Jaime in the hallway. His friends laughed like it was one of the funniest jokes.
Jaime stumbled against a locker but said nothing. His books spilled to the ground. No one stopped. No one helped.
“Still haven’t found your wolf, Rowan?” Damon said, loud enough for everyone to hear. “Ohh sorry Beta Rowan is not actually your father.”
The nearby student erupted in laughter. Some brought out their phones to video. But in everything, Jamie chose to remain silent. Like he had always been.
He took all the pain and mocking in silence. Not giving his enemy the privilege of seeing him crumble.
“Maybe he left his wolf behind in the test tube his dad made you in.” Another cohort of Damon said.
Laughter. Again.
The sting didn’t come from the words. he’d heard worse, much more worse that a point he had become used to it. Choosing to suffer in silence. But the pain was much worse from how easily everybody believed it. And how often he had actually questioned himself.
Jaime crouched down to pick up his books, but Damon was not yet done. He stepped on the book that Jaime wanted to pick.
“Hey trash, who are you ignoring like that?” He asked, his expression turning ugly.
Jaime ignored him, nit in any way phased by his threats. If not that Damon was the alphas son, he would have retaliated by now. But it wasn’t just that… something else was preventing him from retaliating.
The empty feeling since this morning was Still there. It kept on bugging him, like part of his other half was missing.
“Hey, the future alpha is talking to you” another cohort shoved Jamie, forcing him to look at Damon who had an enraged face.
“Acting touch right?. Now I will enjoy beating you until you beg that I stop.” he raised his hands,
Jamie braced himself for the blow. Not at least affected by anything.
“Hey stop you two” a sharp voice stopped the blow from connecting with his jaw.
It was one of the teachers. And by the look of things, he was equally strong and didn't tolerate nonsense.
“Mr Braddock, this is our pack issues, stay away” Damon scowled at the teacher,
“This is school ground, you can do your pack business in your pack, not here, Mr Damon” the teacher's unrelenting voice retorted.
The hallways fell into a deep silence, everybody waiting for what Damon would do. Jaime raised his eyebrows at the teacher. Apparently the teacher was new and didn't know how things worked.
Who was Damon?
He is the heir to the greencreek sector. After the war, the world was divided into different sectors that can also be known as a pack.
They called it the United Twelve Sector, but there was nothing united about it.
The world hierarchy had fractured during the war. Human governments collapsed , with some of them retreating into underground bunkers with their arms and weapons. Leaving only the supernaturals, that's the werewolfs who treasure their territory more than anything to be at the forefront of the war.
Bearing the brute attack of the aliens.
After the war, they banded together and divided the world into twelve regional sectors, each the size of a continent, ruled by the strongest of their kind, which is the Alphas, guarded by Betas, and held in check by the new laws that were put in place for their own benefit.
That was the power of an alpha, rolling thousands of werewolves. The type of power that Damon had, but seeing a common teacher willing to challenge him for justice.
Well it was the first of its kind.
Jaime tightened his fingers around the edges of his books, waiting for the world to explode.
He could feel the anger coming from Damon the most, because he is a beta. Or rather was the supposed beta. But Damon had rejected him years ago.
But to the surprise of everyone…
Damon gave a mock salute, eyes gleaming with smugness.
“Yes, Mr Braddock.” He spat out the title like it was an insult.
Mr Braddock’s jaw tightened, but he said nothing more.
Teachers didn’t challenge Alpha blood in the first place, him standing up to him was already enough.
Damon and his pack finally drifted away, but not before Damon turned back, slow and deliberate, eyes locking onto Jaime’s.
Who struggled to look away with every streght he had, but Damon was using his alpha instincts to keep him in place.
The world around them seemed to fade.
Damon’s smile curled into something crueler, colder.
“You know why you never became a beta, right?” Damon said, low enough that only Jaime could hear.
Jaime stiffened, Damon had poked at his soft side.
Damon leaned in closer, his breath hot and poisonous against Jaime’s ear.
“Because weak bastards like you don’t get the title. You get left behind to rot in your misery.”
Jaime’s nails dug into the skin of his palm.
“You are a disgrace to your father, a disgrace to this pack, and you are a disgrace to the whole worthy beta guards at large.” Damon spat, stepping back, arms wide like he hadn’t just destroyed Jaime’s honor and pride.
Jaime’s throat burned. His heart thundered against his ribs. His vision blurred with anger. Deep injuries he had buried resurfaced again.
He wanted to say something.
Wanted to do something.
But the words wouldn’t come.
He felt something stirred at his chest, it was a flicker, subtle that if he had not been too focused to calm his inner self down, he wouldn't have noticed it.
But as soon as it came it vanished
Replaced by the familiar emptiness.
Damon laughed softly at his silence, shaking his head like he pitied him.
Then he turned and swaggered down the hallway after his friends, leaving Jaime alone.
With his honour shattered.
Chapter 049: Foreigner alert The music suddenly cut off. The lights stopped flashing and turned to a steady bright white. Everyone on the dance floor stopped moving, looking around in confusion. Then a voice boomed through the speakers. A voice Jamie knew too well, and what it meant, Trouble."Well, well, well. What do we have here?" The voice was smooth, confident, and filled with power. "Little Jamie Thorn, out past bedtime in my territory."Jamie's blood turned to ice. He looked up at the DJ booth. There, standing with a microphone in his hand, was Damon. Someone he was never expecting to meet at a place like this.Damon was different today, His black hair was styled perfectly. He wore expensive clothes that made everyone else in the bar look shabby. Two other young men stood beside him… his friends, the sons of other important pack families. They were all grinning like they had found a mouse to play with. Jamie felt a sense of disgust followed by fear rise up inside him.Where w
Chapter 48: Attack Abiagan shook his head. "In my world, we lived very differently. We were taught to be quiet. To hide. To never draw attention." He turned to look at Jamie. "But here, everyone is so... alive."The woman returned with their drinks. Jamie paid her with money he had saved from small jobs he did around the neighborhood. They sipped their sodas slowly, while secretly watched Mr. Harrison. The teacher seemed to be losing money. Each time cards were laid down, he threw his hands up in frustration. The other men at his table would laugh at his predicament. They took turns gathering money from the center of the table."He's not very good at this," Abiagan observed quietly."No, he's not," Jamie agreed. He frowned. This wasn't what he expected. He thought he would find Mr. Harrison meeting with suspicious people or doing something obviously wrong. But gambling? That was disappointing, not dangerous.Suddenly, a man stumbled toward their table. He was older, maybe in his thir
Chapter 47: inside the rose barThe Red Rose bar stood before them like a glowing box in the dark street. Bright pink lights blinked on and off above the door. Music pumped out so loud that Jamie could feel it in his chest. Wolves walked in and out, laughing and talking.Abiagan's eyes grew wide as he stared at the building like it was something out of a fairy tale. He had never seen anything like this before. In his memories of his old home, there were no places like this. Everything had been quiet, cold and systemized."Remember the plan," Jamie whispered, pulling Abiagan closer. "You're Aliyah, my girlfriend. We're just here to have fun. Don't talk too much. Let me do the talking."Abiagan nodded, touching the wig on his head. "You look perfect," Jamie said softly, squeezing his hand. "Just stay close to me."They walked toward the entrance. A big man stood at the door, arms crossed over his chest. He looked at Jamie and Abiagan, his stomach felt tight with worry, but he had to do
Chapter 46: InvestigationAbiagan woke up to see Jamie already awake, benched over a piece of paper like he was studying. The boy's eyes squinted in confusion, filled with sleep. Last night training had been hectic both on him and Jamie. He was not yet strong enough to be able to use his powers. Anytime he uses his powers, he feels fatigue creep in very fast. As if he would drop dead at the instant. It's one of the secrets he still harbours to himself, and doesn't want jamei to know about it.He didn't want to think about it, so he quietly shifted, his legs touching the ground softly with barely any sound. That's another perk of being a Vireth. He padded towards Jamie who was invested in whatever he was doing. They wrapped a hand around him, laying his head on his broad back that always calls to him.“Heya, goodmorning.” Jamie looked up, managing a small smile.“What are you doing?” Abiagan pouted playfully. He strained to look over Jamie's shoulders.“It's my jotted investigation ab
CHAPTER 45: MATES?. The moment their lips met, the energy between them exploded into brilliant light. Gold and green mixed together, creating patterns that danced through the air like fireworks.Abiagan made a soft sound and kissed back harder, his hands moving from Jaime's hands to his face, cupping his cheeks gently.Jaime wrapped his arms around Abiagan's waist, pulling him closer. Their bodies pressed together, and the energy flowed stronger, faster, with more intensity that left the boys breathless. He could feel everything Abiagan was feeling through their bond. The urge, The desire radiating like the sunlight, The complete trust and acceptance It was overwhelming and perfect and right.Abiagan's fingers slid into Jaime's hair, holding him close as they kissed. Jaime's hands moved to Abiagan's lower back, as he gripped the boy's plump ass, pulling their hips together as they grind each other."Jaime," Abiagan breathed with his lips against Jamie's. "We should... we should proba
Chapter 44: Shared TrainingThree days after Dr. Thorn's visit, Jaime and Abiagan started training together in secret, so Jamie could understand his abilities better. They couldn't practice in the house. Too many people. Too many questions. And if Jaime's abilities started making things glow or float, someone would definitely notice. So they waited until everyone was asleep, then snuck out into the night. There was an abandoned lot about ten minutes from Rosa's house. It used to be a playground, but the equipment was old and broken now. No one came here anymore, especially not at midnight. That was the perfect place, the boys converted to be their training center."Okay," Abiagan said softly, his voice barely louder than the wind. "Let's start with the basics. Close your eyes and feel your energy."Jaime did as he was told. He had gotten better at this over the past few days. Finding that warm current inside him that was his wolf and his new abilities mixed together.Well maybe it's j
