Prologue

The cell was freezing cold.

They liked it that way…sterile, lifeless, stripped of light or warmth. A perfect nemesis of what they thought he was, a thing, a specimen.

a foreigner!!

A figure lay still, barely breathing that you would think that it's dead, his back pressed to the frozen steel floor that continued to burn his body like a boiling water. His arms trembled, bound above him in wooden cuffs soaked with silver and something else, something poisonous and deadly to the figure who kept on shaking and trembling from the pain. His skin had blisters, and his once radiant glow of his eyes is now a dull flicker.

He stared at the ceiling that was not there, imagining what it could be to be out in the open, flying through stars that led to vireth…

Going out from this hellhole.

Do they still sing in the mountains?

Does the wind still hum over the glass lakes?

Do they know I’m gone?

The thought of home was the worst punishment since he had no hope of ever escaping.

He was trapped by monsters in a human cloak and surrounded by metals that weakened it, as the day went by. Slowly stripping all his powers. They made sure of that with all the faded scars that lined his body like a tattoo.

He could barely find the strength to open his eyes, especially now it seems like finally the end has come.

He closed his eyes, willing himself to connect once more, just one last time…to feel the warmth of the twin suns of vireth again.

For a moment, there was nothing but the motivation to see the beauty of his world.

After sometime a low hum started, barely a flicker. He knew he might die of energy drain, but he had no choice but to keep pushing. But the moment was shattered by the wooden creak of a door sliding open.

Footsteps. Harsh, purposeful.

They were coming again.

The figures body tensed. Every instinct screaming to rise, to fight, to become a Virethian. feared only in legend. But all its strength had long been siphoned, bled through needles, through pain and torment.

The men entered, four of them this time, masked and armored.

Their voices muffled into something that couldn’t be understood. They never spoke with names, only commands that sounded so mysterious and unknown to him. The weak figure flinched unconsciously, seeing the incredible sharp tools of different sizes. Syringes. Chains. A box filled with wood.

“Try not to destroy it this time,” one muttered sarcastically, while looking at the figure lecherously. “It's still valuable.”

The figure's cracked lips curled, just slightly. It forced his limbs to move, just enough to rise to his knees. Its aura flickered, barely visible. He would not let them take more without resistance. Even if the figure knows it might be it's last fight, he would make sure to fight for his freedom.

It raised its hand. Light sparked from the palm, thin and dim, but enough to make the men to pause.

Then, one of them laughed. “Still want to fight huh?”

The first blow came hard, boot to ribs. The figure crumbled to the floor, holding his broken ribs. Another strike to the back, the jaw, the neck. The beatings came, deadly and precise, aimed to kill.

The sparks faded, being replaced by pain.

They held it down even against its weak thrashing, a dying attempt to escape the inescapable.

“Hold still for daddy” one of the men scowled,

And then came the needle.

Long. Metallic. Cold.

They shoved it into the spine, deeper than before. His breath hitched. The fluid inside him responded. light trying to escape, to protect.” But the silver mixed in dulled it again.

Click.

“Stupid thrash, learn to be a good prisoner, else you might never leave earth alive.” the same man grunted, giving it one last kick before leaving the figure sprawled on the hard floor.

The figure lay broken on the floor, body convulsing weakly, the glowing blood drying on his skin. He could feel his life leaving him.

It stared again at the ceiling with its dull golden eyes that lacked life and zeal. This time, he didn’t imagine stars. He couldn't even find strength to think, even if that's what he desperately wished to do.

It knows that there was never any hope of him leaving here. So instead of trying to live while becoming useful to the evil captors, it might as well use its last blood and find him.

Only the face of the boy he’d seen once in a dream, blue eyes, gentle voice, is the only clue.

But it didn’t give up hope.

A boy who had looked at it like a person. The image of his smile was the only thing that filled its vision as the figure took its final breath.

just a whisper, a little call through the infinite darkness…

Blood sprayed from its orifices, the figure can feel the darkness creeping up to it. It's time.

But before it let the darkness swallow it whole. It made one last final wish.

“Save me please, my Abagian…”

CHAPTER 62: ultimate betrayalBack at school, Liana was sitting in the park alone after the call with Jaime, her phone was still clutched in her trembling hand, tears rolling down her eyes.Angry tears that she couldn't stop no matter how hard she tried."Hey, what's wrong?" Michael appeared, his voice filled with concern. He moved closer without hesitation, putting his arm around her shoulders in a gesture that felt both comforting and natural. "Did something happen baby? Talk to me."Michael continued to press for the issue. Liana thought against telling him, but seeing his concern that looked so genuine, her mouth opened,"I talked to Jaime," Liana said, wiping her eyes with shaking hands. "About us. About your proposal."Michael's heart started beating faster, hammering against his ribs. This was it. The moment of truth. "What did he say?""He told me to say no. Said you are probably just using me to get information for Damon." Liana looked up at him with red, puffy eyes that he

CHAPTER 61: Hearts and Secrets Two more days passed at the facility in a strange kind of limbo. Abiagan worked with Dr. Thorn every day, channeling his energy into machines and equipment, slowly building the shield that would protect them from Kyros's tracking spells. It was exhausting work that left him completely drained, physically, and emotionally. But he was getting stronger. The more he used his powers, the more control he gained. The more he channeled his energy, the more naturally it came to him. And having Jaime by his side through every moment… holding his hand, offering support, being an anchor in the storm… made the nightmares of returning to that room bearable. Almost bearable. Meanwhile, Jaime split his time between helping Abiagan and training with his own abilities, with the advanced training pods and equipment that Dr Thorn provided. His energy sight was getting sharper, more precise, more refined. He could now sense corrupted energy from almost a mile away. Co

Chapter 60: Back to hellDr. Thorn nodded like he had expected nothing less."The things you did to me... they broke something inside me that might never heal. Abiagan continued, “But I will accept your help. For them, because they are my family now, and I will do anything to protect them. Even if it means working with you.""That's more than I deserve," Dr. Thorn said quietly, and the gratitude in his voice was almost painful to hear. "Thank you."He moved to a computer and pulled up files and diagrams, his movements businesslike."I have been researching corrupted Virethian energy since our last conversation," he explained, typing rapidly. "Trying to understand how it works. How it spreads. How to fight it. And I think I have found something."He pulled up an image… a complex diagram of energy patterns and mathematical formulas that made Jaime's head spin just from looking at it."This is a shielding spell," Dr. Thorn said, pointing to various elements of the diagram. "Based on Vir

chapter 59: Going Through Everything Together Everyone was quiet. No one spoke nor moved. The silence stretched, heavy with the weight of terrible history. "Please," Jaime said, breaking the silence that felt like it might crush them all. His voice came out desperate, pleading. "You said if I needed help, I could come to you. We need help. Badly. Can we come in?" Dr. Thorn looked at the group again. Really looked. Saw their exhausted faces, pale with fear and sleeplessness. Saw the small child clutching a stuffed cat, her eyes haunted in a way no child's should be. Saw Thomas barely staying upright, his condition worsened by stress and exertion. Saw Rosa standing like a shield in front of Penny. Saw his son, desperate and terrified and still trying to save everyone. And saw Abiagan, the being he had tortured for fifty years, shaking like a leaf in a storm but standing there anyway because he had no other choice. Something in Dr. Thorn's chest cracked. "Yes," he said, steppin

Chapter 58 : into the commercial areaThe sound of feet padding through the wet pavements echoed in the night. Halfway across the street, Jaime's energy sight exploded with warnings.Dark multiple signatures. Coming fast from both directions like wolves closing in on prey."They are here!" he shouted, his voice cracking with panic. "RUN!"Everyone sprinted even harder. Penny's short legs couldn't keep up, so Rosa scooped her up without breaking stride, the child's weight making her stumble but not stop. Thomas ran as fast as his deteriorating nerves would allow, his face twisted with pain and effort to stay alive. Marcus and Jaime flanked them, ready to fight if needed.Dark shapes appeared at both ends of the street. Their movements were wrong… too fluid, too fast, limbs bending at angles that shouldn't be possible. Their aura is not as strong as Mr. Harrison or Kris, but dangerous nonetheless."Keep going!" Jaime shouted, his wolf rising in his chest, desperate to protect his pack.

CHAPTER 57: Safe HavenTen minutes later, they stood in the living room with their bags packed. They didn't carry much. A few changes of clothes. Some food. Personal items that meant something to them. Everything else… the furniture, the decorations, the memories… had to be left behind.Rosa stood in the middle of the room, looking around slowly. Her fingers traced the arm of the couch where Penny curled up every evening with her books. The kitchen table where they had shared so many meals. The worn rug that had been there when she first moved in twelve years ago, back when the grief of losing her son was still fresh."I hate leaving this place," she said quietly, her voice thick with emotion."I know," Thomas said, putting a trembling hand on her shoulder. His condition made even this simple gesture difficult, but he managed it because Rosa needed the comfort. "But we will come back. When this is over, we will come back and it will be waiting for us.""Will it?" Rosa's voice cracked.
