Chapter 5

Kevin was pacing frantically in the hospital room, his mind racing with thoughts about Amy's recent debacle on the show. He was determined to do whatever it took to fix the situation and clean up the mess, even if it meant damaging Amy's reputation. His fingers felt restless, and he couldn't resist the urge to call her once again, hoping to get some answers.

After several rings, she finally picked up the phone, and Kevin didn't waste any time. He spoke to her in a stern and cold voice, asserting his authority as the CEO of Blue Sky Entertainment. He demanded to know what was wrong with her manager and how she could have posted such a reckless statement on the internet about him and Laura bullying Amy.

Kevin was frustrated that someone on his team could have made such a careless mistake. He didn't even bother to ask Amy about her well-being or whereabouts, as his focus was solely on the situation at hand.

Amy, on the other end of the line, feigned ignorance, asking.

"Lucy? What's wrong?" It was clear to Kevin that she was not aware of the statement made by her manager, and he revealed the details to her.

As he struggled to comprehend how this could have happened, Kevin couldn't help but wonder what other surprises awaited him in the future. He knew that he had to be vigilant and keep a close eye on his team to avoid any further mishaps. he thought

Amy's expression turned from confusion to shock in a matter of seconds. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. He was acting like an innocent child, oblivious to the pain he had caused her over the past few years. The audacity of his behavior was astounding. How could he pretend like he had done nothing wrong? She thought to herself, feeling a mix of anger and frustration. It was clear that he knew better than anyone else what he had done, and yet he was still trying to manipulate the situation to his advantage. The more she thought about it, the more she realized just how shameless he truly was.

She acted as if she was unaware of her manager's actions, saying "I have no idea because I was afraid that people might harm me after what happened. I decided to hide somewhere with no internet connection." She lied to test if he truly cared about her.

"Okay, that's good! Just stay there for a while. Tomorrow morning, come to me at my office so that we can talk about how we are going to solve this issue. And don't forget to bring Lucy with you. Then he hung up.

Amy sat across from Shawn, her mind racing with thoughts and emotions. She had so much to say, so much to explain, but before she could even begin, Shawn cut her off.

"Don't bother to explain," he said, his voice calm and collected. "I understood and heard everything. And if you need my help, just let me know. You know there's nothing I can't do."

Amy was impressed by Shawn's confidence and power. She knew that her husband was one of the most influential people in the local and international entertainment industry, and that no one dared to challenge him. But she also knew that this time, she needed to stand up for herself and regain what was rightfully hers.

"I want to make it clear again," she said, her voice steady. "I know you are the most powerful in this industry, but this time I want to stand on my own and get back all the things that originally belonged to me."

Shawn was taken aback by Amy's determination. He had never seen her so focused and driven before. "Alright," he said, nodding his head. "But don't expect me to watch you suffer. Always remember that you are my wife, and I'm willing to do everything to protect you."

Amy was touched by her husband's words, but she was also determined to prove herself. "I appreciate your support," she said, "but I want to win this battle on my own. I want to stand by your side one day on the same level as you, with my own effort."

Shawn smiled at Amy, proud of her courage and strength. "I have no doubt that you will," he said, his eyes shining with admiration.

And with that, the newlywed couple continued their dinner, chatting happily about their plans for the future.

Laura was admitted to the hospital and was feeling extremely frustrated in her room. She had been following a TV show where Amy caused an issue, and Laura was very upset about it. She kept nagging Kevin, asking him to find a solution to the problem. However, Kevin was feeling helpless and couldn't think of any solution at that moment. He finally left Laura's room and went back to his office to clear his mind.

Once in his office, he decided to call Amy and see if they could meet up to discuss the issue in person. After several attempts, Amy finally picked up the phone and agreed to meet him at their usual spot. Kevin informed her that he would be there in half an hour and asked her to wait for him. However, Amy had no intention of keeping the meeting this time.

Amy wanted Kevin to experience the frustration and disappointment of waiting for someone who would never show up. During their three-year relationship, there were many occasions when Amy had waited for Kevin, only for Laura to interfere and prevent them from meeting. Amy thought it was time for Kevin to experience the same feeling. She knew that once Laura found out that she and Kevin were supposed to meet, she would do everything in her power to prevent them from actually meeting.

Amy looked at Shawn, hesitating for a moment before speaking. "Can you join me first, if it's okay with you?" She asked softly. "There's only one place I want to go before we head home. It's a small spot I heard about where people gather, especially at night. I've always wanted to see it for myself."

Shawn nodded, a small smile forming on his lips. "Of course, I'll go with you," he said, standing up from his seat. He reached over and took Amy's jacket, holding it out for her to put on first. "It's chilly outside, and I don't want you to catch a cold."

Amy stood up slowly, feeling grateful for Shawn's thoughtfulness. She slipped on her jacket and thanked him before they left the restaurant. They walked side by side, their footsteps echoing through the quiet streets.

As they walked, Amy's thoughts drifted to the place she wanted to visit. She wondered if Shawn would think it was silly or childish. She was so lost in thought that she didn't realize Shawn was looking at her until he spoke up.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked, his voice gentle.

Amy hesitated for a moment before answering, "I was just thinking about the place we're going to. I hope it's not too silly."

Shawn shook his head, "It's not silly. I'm here to accompany you, no matter where you want to go."

They soon arrived at the spot where they were meeting Kevin. Amy looked around, her eyes searching for a familiar landmark. She spotted the big tree where they used to meet and walked over to it.

After a few minutes, she returned to where Shawn was standing, her heart feeling lighter. She was grateful for Shawn's company and support, and she knew that she could always count on him to be there for her.
