Chapter 9

Amy and Shawn were sitting in the car together when Amy turned to him and asked, "Did you wait long for me?" Shawn shook his head and smiled. "No, I just got here. I wanted to make sure I was on time for you." Amy felt a warm sensation in her chest, grateful for Shawn's punctuality and thoughtfulness.

As they drove along, Shawn asked Amy how her day had been. She opened up to him about her stressful day and that Kevin forced her to visit Laura in the hospital the next day, and Shawn listened attentively, offering words of comfort and support. It was as if he knew exactly what to say to make her feel better.

"Don't worry about it. If you need anything, just let me know. Remember, I'm your husband." He added, "And next time, if you want to pick me up, just let me know. I'll always make time for you, no matter how busy I am."
