The forgiveness:

I stood in front of Ophelia, my head cast downward in remorse.I was already tearing up within me. Ophelia wasn't someone I should batter words with unlike Rita,that I might retaliate whenever she messes up with me.

Terminating this job will be a very big blow to me,in the sense that I am still struggling to meet up with my financial responsibilities.If she ever sack me,I am doomed.

“Ophelia please am deeply sorry for my actions,I know I have crossed the line,it wasn't a deliberate act and I regret my recent behavior.please find a way in your heart to forgive me”.I apologized to her with a softened expression and croaky voice.

But I continued,"I understand if you need time to process this.” I promise to be more mindful in the future and respect boundaries.

Ophelia countenance was stern,with a piercing gaze like a dagger,she was fuming in furious obviously making her attention to be fixed and unwavering around me.

I felt a lump on my throat, as I swallowed the words I had in mind to say, just kept quiet for her to dilate what I asked of her.

Ophelia gave out a smirk,her gaze softened slightly, “I will consider your apology Ecca,I won't be terminating your work,suspending you from work or reducing your salary.But I must surely serve you your punishment she said,giving out a small wicked smile and walked out of the room.

I nodded my head like a lizard repeatedly, I felt overwhelmed but as much as the punishment wasn't related to my work, I felt relieved as it washed all over me. Thank you ma, I appreciate your understanding,I greeted her in a cool voice.

I hurriedly dashed inside the room to clean up the mess I created. The breeze coming in from the window didn't do justice to it as the stinking smell of alcohol was circulating the whole place.

After that,I went ahead to do my daily endeavors.

Sitting in the chair, taking a glance at the clock with every minute that went by.As soon as the clock struck six.I hurriedly went to meet Ophelia.

Going inside the room after knocking,the room was dimly lit, with only a few lamps casting a warm glow.she was dressed in a comfortable distressed denim gown.Her feet was bare and her hair was tired in a loose bun.A sweet melodies playlist filled the room.The music was calming and she turned immediately she noticed my presence.

“Good evening ma I will be taking my leave now,as it's already the closing time”I said to her with my head casting downward.

“Alright,make sure to be here on time tomorrow, cause there will be plenteous work to do”she responded.

I nodded and left the room.

With the day being chaotic,the anticipation to see my son gladden my heart,I couldn't wait to see my son ,my little Leo that was in the hospital.

Taking the fancy nylon,I inserted the flask that contained his food.The noodles that were given to me earlier.

Stepping outside the mansion, I boarded a taxi. The drive to the hospital seemed like an eternity. When I finally reached the hospital,I paid the taxi man and got out of the car.

I walked through the hospital corridors, passing different wards before reaching where my son was.

Leo's smile lit up immediately he noticed my presence “mommy is here” he squealed and I rushed, giving him a light hug.

My friend Nora was already there when I arrived.

I tilted my head sideways and smiled at her, “Thank you so much Nora,For everything,for your support and words of encouragement I really appreciate” I greeted her with a crying voice.

“It's okay Ecca, Everything will soon be well,We are in this together” She replied.

I nodded.

As we discussed a lot of things,both what happened in my work place and hers.But we laughed it out wholeheartedly.

On an early morning,the rain poured down gently on the zinc casting a melodious sound on the top roof and pavement.At exactly Five I woke up from sleep ,the sky was so deep with droplet of water clinging to the window like a tiny diamond.

The air was cool and crisp carrying the scent of wet earth and renewal.
