The moment Adrian stepped out of the hotel, the cool night breeze brushed against his face. His expression remained cold, but his mind refused to let go of the woman he had just met.

He pulled out his phone and dialed his secretary.

“Ethan, bring the car around.”

“Yes, President Adrian.”

A few minutes later, the black luxury sedan stopped in front of him. Adrian slid into the back seat, loosened his tie, and leaned against the leather seat.

Ethan glanced at him through the rearview mirror. “Rough date?”

Adrian let out a dry laugh. “You could call it a disaster.”

“What happened?”

“She admitted she got caught cheating on another man. Then she told me she likes dating men and usually keeps three or four guys around at the same time.”

Ethan’s eyes widened.

“She actually said that?”

“She did.”

“She sounds like the worst kind of woman.”

Adrian didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he stared out the window as the city lights blurred past. Something about the woman’s performance felt too dramatic... too deliberate.

Before he could think further, his phone rang.

Grandfather.

Adrian answered immediately.

“Yes, Grandfather. I just left the hotel. I’m on my way home.”

“The date is over already?” William Blake asked. “Sounds like it failed. Put Ethan on the phone. I’ll arrange another blind date.”

“There’s no need.”

Silence followed.

“What do you mean there’s no need?” his grandfather asked, his voice turning sharp. “Are you breaking the promise you made me?”

“No.”

Adrian’s eyes remained fixed ahead as he spoke without hesitation.

“I’m going to marry Aria.”

Ethan nearly hit the brakes.

On the other end of the call, William Blake was speechless.

“You... what?”

“The woman I met tonight is the one I’ll marry.”

Adrian ended the call before his grandfather could argue, completely unaware that the woman he had spent the evening with was not Aria at all—it was Chloe.

Not far from the hotel, Chloe and Aria sat inside a cozy restaurant, laughing over milkshakes.

Chloe leaned forward. “Seriously, how on earth did your company’s CEO end up being your blind date?”

Aria covered her face in embarrassment. “Don’t remind me.”

“So... how did I do?”

“How do you think it went?” Aria replied with a playful smile.

Under the table, she secretly gave Chloe a thumbs-up.

Both girls burst into laughter.

“I deserve an award,” Chloe said proudly. “I used every personality trait men hate. I acted rude, arrogant, dramatic... everything.”

She tossed her hair with a grin.

“I’m one hundred percent sure President Adrian will never contact you again.”

Aria clapped happily.

“Mission accomplished! Thank you for saving me.”

The friends raised their glasses and toasted to Chloe’s successful performance.

Convinced the nightmare was over, they left the restaurant and headed to a karaoke studio.

Music filled the room as they sang at the top of their lungs, laughing until tears rolled down their cheeks.

Then Aria’s phone rang.

Seeing her father’s name on the screen, she excused herself and stepped outside to answer the call.

A minute later, she returned.

The smile on her face was gone.

She looked pale.

“Chloe...” Her voice trembled. “What did you do?”

Chloe blinked in confusion.

“What do you mean? I was just singing my heart out.”

“No.” Aria grabbed her wrist. “Not here. At the hotel.”

Chloe frowned.

“What did you do to make President Adrian say he wants to marry me?”

The words crashed into Chloe like thunder.

“What?”

“He called my father,” Aria said, panic filling her eyes. “He told my family he wants to marry Aria.”

Chloe’s mouth fell open.

“Marry... you?”

“Yes!” Aria shouted, shaking Chloe’s shoulders. “You were the one who went on that blind date pretending to be me. Tell me exactly what happened.”

For the first time that night, Chloe’s confidence disappeared.

She realized her “mission” had gone terribly, terribly wrong.

Adrian rested his head against the high back of the leather sofa in his top-floor office, his posture completely relaxed despite the tension thick in the room. His face was a mask of cold composure, completely unreadable. Across the glass coffee table, Ethan stood as stiff as a statue. He stared at his best friend, his mind racing as he tried—and failed—to make sense of the news. “You’re really going to marry the woman from that blind date?” Ethan asked, his voice strained with genuine disbelief. Adrian kept his gaze fixed on the quiet iPad in his lap, turning a page with a slow, deliberate swipe. “How many times do I have to answer that question, Ethan?” Ethan let out a sharp sigh, pacing two steps before running a frustrated hand through his hair. “Because it defies all logic! She literally admitted to you—without an ounce of shame—that she’s seeing multiple men at once. She’s playing the field in broad daylight, Adrian. How can you sit there and tell me you’re going to walk dow

Chloe sat across from Adrian, barely touching her food as her mind raced. Don't panic, she reminded herself. He doesn't know I'm Chloe. He thinks I'm Aria. She stole a glance at him. Adrian sat completely composed, entirely unaware that she was frantically trying to sabotage their date. Desperate to escape before things spiraled further, she decided to try a new tactic. She tugged at her jacket collar and sighed. "It's getting a bit warm in here, isn't it?" she asked, removing her jacket. "Warm?" Adrian asked, looking toward the air conditioning vent. "It's actually quite cold." "Well... my body runs hot," Chloe countered, pulling her hair back dramatically. Adrian raised an eyebrow, staring at her bare arm. "You have goosebumps." "I get goosebumps all the time!" she insisted, forcing a laugh. Adrian simply nodded, unbothered. A moment later, his phone buzzed. As he began typing a quick reply, Chloe narrowed her eyes. "What are you doing?" "Sorry, just replying to a work text

Adrian sat behind his desk at Blake Corporation, his eyes fixed on the documents in front of him. The office was unusually quiet, but the peace didn't last long. The door opened, and Ethan Cole, his secretary, hurried inside with his phone in hand. “Sir, I have an update regarding your schedule.” Adrian didn't bother looking up. “What is it?” “Your date tonight.” Adrian's pen stopped moving. “My what?” “Your blind date.” Adrian finally raised his head, his brows drawing together. “What? Tonight at seven?” “Yes, sir. At the coffee shop in the Imperial Hotel. You're supposed to meet Aria from the Yale Marine Group.” Adrian's expression immediately darkened. He reached for his schedule book and flipped through the pages. Meeting after meeting filled every available space. “I have a full schedule today. Tell them I'm busy.” Ethan sighed. He had expected that answer. Instead of arguing, he pulled out his phone and played a video. Adrian recognized his grandfather's voice almost

The private hospital suite was unusually quiet, the rhythmic beeping of the heart monitor the only sound breaking the silence. Adrian Blake stood beside the bed with his secretary, Ethan Cole, while the attending physician reviewed the latest test results. After a moment, the doctor looked up and smiled reassuringly. "Mr. Blake's condition is stable. His blood pressure is slightly elevated, but it's nothing to be concerned about." Ethan let out a relieved breath. "So he'll be alright?" "Yes," the doctor replied. "With proper rest and medication, he should make a full recovery." Before anyone could relax, William Blake sat upright in bed and frowned. "Nothing to be concerned about? Last week, you told me my lungs were failing, my kidneys were weak, and my intestines weren't functioning properly." The doctor's confident expression faltered. "Well... yes, I did say that." Adrian sighed quietly while Ethan bit the inside of his cheek to stop himself from laughing. The doctor

Adrian Blake stepped out of his sleek black sports car, his polished leather shoes clicking softly against the marble pavement. The towering headquarters of Blake Corporation reflected the morning sunlight, its glass exterior gleaming like a monument to power and success. Standing by the entrance was his secretary, Ethan Cole, impeccably dressed as always. "Good morning, sir," Ethan greeted with a respectful nod. Adrian acknowledged him with a slight nod as they entered the building. "Has the inauguration been taken care of?" he asked calmly. "Yes, sir. Everything went exactly as planned. Mr. William wasn't particularly pleased, but the ceremony concluded without any major issues." A faint look of relief crossed Adrian's face. "Good." He adjusted the cuff of his tailored suit as they approached the executive elevator. "And my grandfather?" Before Ethan could answer, the elevator doors slid open with a soft chime. Standing inside was William Blake, his sharp eyes instantly lock
