Chapter 151 — Eggs, Prophecies, and Unexpected Hugs

Eva’s point of view

We all enter the building in comforting silence, the kind that forms between people who have seen too much to need words. The faint aroma of toasted bread and eggs lingers in the air, grounding me for a second as my boots echo lightly on the wooden floor.

As we reach the dining area, I glance at Zach. “How are the twins? Did our healers make any progress with them?”

He sighs and rubs his palm over his jaw, his usual sign of frustration. “Too little. In a couple of days, they’ll have to enter the Room of Judgment, and honestly—I don’t think they’re ready for it.”

His whole face tightens with concern, that protective father-energy radiating off him like heat from a stove. Ever since he found out Selene was his mate, those two girls became his responsibility too. They’re part of his pack now.

“They’ll be okay,” I tell him, clapping his back as we make our way to a table. “I’ve had no visions of them dead, so that’s got to mean something, right?”

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 155: Snacks, Shopping, and Sudden Doom Eva’s point of view

Eva’s POV I can feel the necklace’s hum of power against my chest as we head back to the others. It’s alive—alive and watching, almost like it knows something I don’t. Figures. Everyone else in my life has been doing that lately—why should jewelry be any different? We don’t have to walk far. They’re already outside, scattered across the garden, pretending they just happened to wander out here for some fresh air. Subtle as bricks, this lot. “Nice necklace,” Sonia’s the first to notice, eyes sharp. I just smile. Saying nothing. Not the time. Definitely not the moment. Let them think it’s a fashion choice. Magic problems can wait until after caffeine and snacks. “We’re leaving for the castle in a few hours,” I announce to the group, stretching my arms over my head like I didn’t just drop a verbal bomb. “I’m coming with you,” Elias blurts, practically bouncing on his heels like an overeager puppy. “Sorry, little brother. Not yet.” “Actually—” Nathaniel chimes in like the ancient t

Nathaniel’s point of view I watch them as they talk, gathered in that chaotic way young wolves always seem to find comforting. She’s grown up so fast. I remember when they first brought her to the sanctuary—three years old, blonde curls tangled, dirt on her face, wild as a forest storm and sharp as a blade. A blonde angel with executioner blood, smart like hell, stubborn like something worse. She was the only executioner I ever got involved with. Because I knew who she’d be. And now… her time has come. She has no idea how heavy the road ahead will be. The goddess never picks the easy ones. But I have faith. I have to have faith. The goddess chose right. And with her… maybe, just maybe, we’ll end this madness once and for all. She’s clever, sharper than any blade I’ve seen, and she notices things no one else does. She’s special. Special in that slightly terrifying, “might burn the whole system down” kind of way. “I know you’ll soon leave for the castle,” I tell her as I stand up.

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 153: Complicated Stuff

Eva’s point of view Mary’s announcement drops like a bomb. For a second, it’s like the whole room forgets how to breathe. “Are you happy for me?” she whispers, eyes locked on mine, searching for something—approval, maybe. “Are you kidding me? I’m thrilled,” I say, grabbing her in a tight hug. “I couldn’t be happier for you.” She melts against me, her breath shaky but smiling against my shoulder. From the corner of the room, Elias shifts uncomfortably. “How can she be pregnant? It’s not like you have a dick.” I laugh—too loudly. The absurdity of his timing always breaks me. “She has a fated mate. He has one.” Mary lets out a quiet giggle, cheeks turning pink as she hides her face against me. “Complicated stuff,” Elias mutters, already turning toward the door. “I need some air. Too much emotional crap in one room.” “Thanks for the support,” I call after him, rolling my eyes. “Anytime,” he tosses over his shoulder like he’s doing us all a favor. When the door clicks shut, I p

Eva’s point of view I actually missed Mary. I haven’t seen her in almost five months. Sure, we talked on the phone a few times, sent the occasional message—but since she went with Steve to visit his family, it’s been radio silence in person. And I was used to seeing her every day. Well… almost every day. It’s strange how fast people become part of your daily noise, and then suddenly that noise is gone and you realize you liked it more than you thought. Mason and Nathaniel know who Mary is. So does Sonia. But my family? Oh no. They don’t have the slightest clue, and now I have to explain to them that this fiery-haired hurricane currently clinging to me is my chosen lady of peace. My chosen mate. Well… for about a month and a half more. Then she’ll be Steve’s. And I’ll either be the King’s fated mate or… you know… his doom. Depends on how lucky Theo’s feeling. Mary presses a soft kiss against my lips, and I feel her freeze. Her eyes widen with realization. “You no longer belong to

Samantha’s point of view I feel my wolf, Ayla, lurch to the surface as soon as our eyes land on this man. And I let her. “You,” Ayla hisses. “I’m going to rip you apart.” We launch forward, every muscle tensed, every claw ready. I don’t care that he’s standing still, like some sacrificial lamb—I’m ready to tear him piece by piece. This man. This bastard was one of the twelve white wolves. I remember his face like it was yesterday, even if it’s worn with age now. He shifted to human form that day, walked toward me like he owned the world, and took my baby from my arms. I see him again now—same face, same calm. I’m almost there when I freeze midair, like hitting an invisible wall. I’m suspended, claws out, fangs bared, but completely stuck. What the hell is this? I strain against whatever force is holding me, muscles screaming, but nothing moves. “Come on, Nathaniel,” I hear Eva’s dry voice behind me, “you’re ruining all the fun.” Of course she’s calm. She’s always calm. Probabl
