Chapter one

                            (Kora POV)

I just recently turned 18 and my father is now talking about a ball in the upcoming weeks. A gathering of all the royals from other countries and the Alpha in our own country in another event. He is mostly doing this to get my older brother Seth to find his mate, for he'll be turning 21 this year and still has not found her. If my brother knew the true reason for this ball he would not agree to it, but it's not like he is happy with the idea that my father is encouraging the ideal of me looking for my mate. Seth still see me as his baby sister that he needs to protect, even though he and Brayden has been training me since I was 10 years old to protect myself.

Alright I guess it's time for me to get out of bed and start my day. Yeah, its only 5:30 am, but I need to be ready within the hour before my brother comes in here and drag me out of bed for my daily training. I rolled out of my queen size bed as my wolf complains all the way to the bathroom. Telling me that it's to early and to go back to bed. My wolf is never in a good mood in morning. I just ignore her as she whines and growls at me. Walking into my bathroom, I think how much I love the new remolding that was done for my birthday. It took about three months to get it all done the way I wanted it, but it defiantly is all worth it in the end. Now I have a full tub with jet, a large glass shower that could fit up to five people with some room to spare. A sink with a large mirror. It was also repainted with more earth tone colors instead of a lame pink. It felt more like the bathroom was made for me now and not me the little girl. I took a short hot shower for a basic wash up. I hurried up with a towel to get to my closet to pick out my blue-black yoga pants and my blue sports bra.

As I was brushing my light brown hair with high light red, I decide to just put it into a bun to keep my hair out of my face. I stared into the mirror to make sure it was done just right as I think as I looked at my eyes about why is my eyes a light brown with green and some gold in it, while the rest of my family has blueish grey eyes. Ok, my mom does have some gold in her eyes but that's it. Oh well, it's best not to dwell on it now because I need to finish up before he comes banging the door down for taking too long.

Finishing up my hair and heading back to my closet to get my tennis shoes, the door burst open with my brother Seth in the doorway with a stupid grin on his face. God I would love to just smack that smile right off his face. He stands about 6"4" compare to my 5"4". He has short white blonde hair, blueish grey eyes, with a light tan skin. He was only wearing a pair of grey sweat pant with no shirt on. To show off to the she wolfs his muscle chest that they can't seem to get enough looking at it. He knows how much that annoys me. Those females are only after the idea of becoming the next Queen, especially that Madison. She the Gamma's daughter and she think she is god gift to men.

"Are you about ready to go, little wolf?" He calls me knowing it ticks me off, because even though my wolf is smaller than his and only because he is male and next in line to be king. My wolf is still twice the size of a normal female wolf.

"It's not even 6:30 yet! What are you in a hurry for anyway?"

He sits up on my bed giving me a serious look that he rarely does.

" I want to get there early enough before the training area gets too busy with others. I don't like how the unmated male wolfs look at you. I need to protect my baby sister from them at all times that's, because you're growing up to fast."

"What do you mean that you need to protect me. I been training since I was 10 years old and can pretty much take out most of those males in there thanks to you and Brayden. So why do I need you to protect me when I can somewhat match you."

"Well I go easy on you because you're my baby sister."

"Yeah whatever." He can be such a lying jerk sometimes.

"Come on lets go."

We walk out of the house to head toward the pack house where we have the gyms and training area at. As we get there, we realize the place is pretty much busier than it usually is for this time in the morning. I'm not sure what is going on.

"Seth, whats going on? Why is there so many people?" I asked not even knowing if he has the answer or not.

"I'm not sure. I wasn't told anything about this." He growls as he looks around to see Colton Ramirez, our father Gamma. He walks over looking like he is ready to rip out someones throat.

"Colton! What is going on and why was I not told of the extra training?" Colton gives my brother a confused look.

"Didn't your father or Brayden talk to you last night about this? He wanted more training for the party coming up in a few weeks."

"No, they haven't said anything to me, because he was interrupt by Ryan on matters of the invites of the guest to the party and never got back around to finish our talk."

"I'm really sorry your highness, but your father thought this would be best for the safety of the guest for there has been more rouge sighting in the last month or so. You also need to be training as well as my son." Colton tried to calm my brothers wolf by talking as calm as he can. Colton always been this ideal of a sweet uncle or even a second father to me. He is almost as tall as my brother, but his dirty blonde hair comes close to his shoulder. He has dark brown eyes, a tan skin tone and a lot more muscles than my brother. Women still throws themselves onto him, well until his mate puts them back into their place. It's funny to watch a girl that is only an inch taller than me put fear into so many girls.

"Alright, but I want to do some training with Kora before I help you out with the rest of their training." Seth says as he heads toward me.

"I think Kora can go one day without her training. It's not like she that good at it anyway." I know that annoying voice anywhere, and yes, it's my least favorite person in this pack. Little miss thinks she's going to be the next Queen, Madison. She walks up to my brother and links her arm with his. With her brother Kayden not far behind her.

I can tell my brother is getting very annoyed with her and trying to hold his wolf back from tearing her arm off him. If she knew what was best for her, she shut up and walk away but she's not that bright.

"Come on Madison, you shouldn't be talking that way to Kora or hanging all over Seth like that."

"Come on you know Kora couldn't even defeat an omega, so she would have no chance with me."

How could she be relate to Colton or Kayden? They both were the sweetest people I know, unlike my father's Beta. I look at her with disgust by her attitude toward me. She was the same height as me. She was skinny with no real muscle to her. I had more of the lean type of muscle. She had long blond hair and light blue eyes that were so cold as she stares me down.

"Ok, I have an ideal. If Madison can defeat Kora, I'll take you to the ball myself. If Kora wins though, you need to leave me alone." Seth gives me a wicked smile because he knows I'm going to win. I can be a pretty close match for even for a male wolf, I know I can take her out within minutes.

"Fine, but she can't use her wolf for this fight."

"Fine." Seth says knowing I wouldn't need my wolf on her to win.

We both get into the fighting area with everyone now gathering around to watch our fight. Of course, she is wearing the skimpiest outfit. Very short pink shorts and a pink sports bra. As we get ready for the fight, Seth comes up to us to give us the basic rules.

"Alright, you both know the rules. No, underhand trick and no help from others. The first person to get knock out of the fighting area losses. There is no time limit to this match. So, when I say start, you to come and fight." He walks back out and turns around to us.

"START!"

Madison and I circle around looking for an opening. I'm more trying to get the feeling of her fighting style, her strength and her weakness. She finally launches toward me, but I was able to dodge it with ease. I can tell she don't look to have the greatest speed, so that might be a nice plus to me. As she tries to do it again, I take the opportunity as she let her guard down by her stomach. I punch her once and she goes down fast, almost too fast. I watch for her to get up, but it seems it was over, and she wasn't getting back up. I looked to Seth like what the hell. He smiled back as he walks over.

"I know I said no time limit, but I don't think she going to be getting up anytime soon. So, Kora wins!"

Madison looking up to me with angry in her eyes and still gasping for air. I almost feel sorry for her, like I said almost. Now she can leave my brother alone. I like to see how long that will take for her to pretty much forget that part and be throwing herself at him again. I can tell by the rest of the coward were disappointed in the short fight. Maybe if they put me up against a stronger person it would have lasted a lot longer.
