Chapter two

                       (Kora POV)

As I finish up with my morning training workout, I decide it be better to take a full shower before breakfast with the family. I get into the shower to wash the sweat of me, my hair using my favorite shampoo and body wash with sweet pea smell. I hurry up to get my hair dry, grab a pair stone wash jean and a black button t shirt. When I realize how late it was getting to, I raced out of my room and ran into my twin sister Bianca. Anyone that looks at us wouldn't even know that we were twin sisters. We were so different in every way. Her hair is a platinum blonde, my hair is a light brown with red highlights in it. My eyes are light brown with gold and green. Bianca are a pale blue. She has pale skin like porcelain doll, and mine is tan. She was born 15 minutes after me but she was half my weight. She has always been sickly on and off to the age of five. Normally a werewolf gains his or her wolf at the age of eight. Seth and I did that at the age of five, but Bianca didn't until she was ten. I'm not sure if it was a dream or not, but I'm sure when Bianca was five, I seen her with wings like a dove. It had to be a dream, it couldn't be true, could it.

"Hey Kora, come on before we're late again. Dad's already been in a bad mood from getting the ball together." She says while grabbing my hand leading me downstairs to the dining room.

"Kora, do you think that Bray will be joining us for breakfast today? I heard from Seth that he's going to training the wolfs that will be on guard for the ball."

"I'm sure knowing him that he will find a way to be there." He always seems to be around every meal, family vacation, and family gathering. It bothers me and I don't know why, but he makes my wolf very uneasy being around him." Why do you ask?"

"I'm just asking. Why are you being so grumpy about it?"

"I'm not being grumpy."

"Whatever, just be a grumpy person, but I'm not letting you ruin my morning." We say nothing more as we walk to breakfast. When we get there my parents and brother are already there waiting for us to start eating. To my surprise that there was no Brayden there, now I call that a good morning. I grabbed some eggs, bacon and some fruit. Bianca just took some yogurt and fruit; she never was a big eater. She doesn't seem to be wanting to eat just sitting there picking at her food.

"Bianca hon, is there something wrong with your meal?"

"It's nothing mom. Just wondering if Bray will be having breakfast with us this morning."

"I'm sure he will be fine. He might just be showing up a little later than usually. Your father wants him to make sure that everything for the ball will be well secure that night."

"Little one, you know Brayden is the only one that I can trust to be able to train them the right way. He will make sure everything will be done the right way, so I have one less  to worry about that night." My father is right about that. I might not like the guy for reasons I don't understand right now, but I know by firsthand his strength and the strength of his very present has on others.

                                 Flashback

The first time that Bianca and I met him was when both of us wers ten years old. We were both in the back playing in the woods near the river. We were playing hide and seek until I felt it was boring playing with just two people. I decide to wait until my brother Seth got there with Dylan and our cousin Alex. As Bianca and I played by the river waiting for them to show up, I kept getting the feeling that someone is watching us. I stood up looking toward the woods knowing there was someone watching us, no there is more than one person out there.

"Who's out there? Seth is that you? Stop messing with us or I'll tell mom and Dad on you!" No one answer me. I'm getting a bad feeling about this. "Bianca, lets go back to the pack." I grabbed by her arm pulling her toward the house.

"Kora? What's wrong?" She starts to whimper. I didn't realize how tight I was pulling her." Kora, your hurting my arm." As I was trying to get her to move faster, I felt a sharp pain to the back of my head. I came to pretty fast, just to see ten nonhumans like creatures surrounding us. If I had to guess, I would think they were demons. They were dark with black hair and red eyes. Their teeth were sharp, and they were growling with hatred. I held onto Bianca trying to reassure her that we were going to be fine while she sat there crying. My wolf became angry wanting to protect her. I had to shut her out before she causes more trouble than good. There is no way we were going to defeat them on our own. While I sit there waiting for someone to help us, I noticed a strange white light coming from Bianca. Her skin glowed almost as bright as the sun itself. The creatures started to stumble backwards trying to escape the light as if they were in pain. One of them decide to rush toward Bianca with rage in his eyes, but before it could reach her someone blocked it.

The guy was over 6 feet, dark brown hair and his eyes were so dark that they were black as the night sky. He wore a black sweater and black jeans. When I got a better look at him, I noticed that his left hand was soaked with blood, and that he was holding something that was moving. When I looked harder that's when I noticed that it was a heart, and not just any heart it was the heart of the creature lying at his feet. He looks down to the demon and growled with such angry, as the rest of them ran away in fear. He than turns to us, kneels in front of us as his right hand goes towards Biancas face whipping the tears from her eyes.

"Little angel please don't cry. I will protect you, for you're mine to protect." I looked to him not understanding what he meant by that she is his to protect. After we found out that his name is Brayden Mason, and he came from the Blood stone pack that was destroyed by rouge wolfs. My father being so grateful to him for protecting his two baby girls that he welcomes him into the pack. He trained the wolfs in his old pack. He also had a mate, but she died with the rest of the pack that night. He has been with the pack ever since, but I never trusted him, not completely. I don't like the way he looks toward Bianca, like she belongs to him or something. He couldn't be her mate. He had one already, and no one every had a second mate, right?

                     End of flash back

I sit there eating and thinking of all that happen, I hear the door open as Brayden walks into the room with a smile on his face while looking toward Bianca. She of course perks up seeing him.

"How did you sleep, my little angel?" His left hand touches her check as he talks to her in a sweet voice. Then he looks to my father before anything can be said about what just happen. He bows toward my father, I'm not sure but I swore there was a look of disgust in his eyes as he does so. Am I wrong, am I reading into this wrong?

'No, Kora I see it as well.' Says my wolf. She sees it as well.

"How is the training going?"

"It's going well your majesty. I'm confident that everything will be ready by the night of the ball. We won't have any issues with the rouge wolves." He tells my father with such confident.

"Kora, Bianca, and Seth? Are you looking forward to the party? I'm hoping you kids will be able to find your true mates at the party." My father says as he smiles with so much pride in his eyes. "I remember the party where I met your mother. She was so beautiful, that I couldn't keep my eyes or hands off her."

"Hey, don't be telling the kids that!" My mother had such a red face that my father couldn't help but to laugh at her.

"I just want our kids to be as happy as we are."

"Really?" My mom gives my dad a questionable look.

"Ok, you got me. It's more for Seth, and less for the girls. What do you want from me, I'm their father and want to keep my baby girls a little longer?" As my father was talking, I swear I heard a growl coming from Brayden.

'Kora, I don't trust him. There is something different in his smell. Are we sure he's a wolf?'

'Come on we both seen him turn into a wolf'

'Yes, I know. He has a large black wolf, with black eyes.' His wolf is as large as your fathers wolf and just as strong. Don't you find that to be odd?'

'Yes, I do believe to be odd.' I know what my wolf is saying, but I don't know what to do with this information.

We finish our meals in silence. As we get done, and just about to get up to leave. Seth coughs to get my attention.

"Kora? Can I talk to you for a moment alone?"

"Sure." I walked toward the door as everyone else is making their way out as well to take care of their day. What is it Seth?

"I wanted to say that I'm really sorry about what happen with Madison and explain to you more about it."

"What about Madison?" I knew there was more to it and that he could be the reason to it knowing my brother.
