Chapter 05

Thanks to the guarantee of the Gotha young master, Coronis smoothly entered the Yophiel Academy campus.

During the process, Coronis kept glancing at the scenery around him, softly exclaiming: "It's like a palace." Everything here is magnificent but still exudes the ancient knowledge of an academy with a long history.

Normally Ethelbert wasn't the type to look around, especially when he was at work. Ethelbert has a very unwavering and unwavering focus on his goal. If he hadn't met Coronis today, he would probably have just walked straight from Queen Street to the Yophiel library, checked in to borrow a book, and immediately returned. The whole process probably takes no more than thirty minutes.

Because he was travelling with Coronis today, he suddenly felt that the familiar daily road seemed to have something new. Ethelbert now appeared to have the opportunity to look at the typical scene of the regular school he had attended for three years with a different eye.

Ethelbert took Coronis to the library, checked in, and borrowed a book.

"What kind of book are you looking for?" Since he was in the library, Ethelbert lowered his voice as low as possible. Ethelbert's voice is inherently an authoritative voice without mixing, gentle, deep and warm, making people feel nostalgic just like his face. The moment he leaned down, whispering softly in Coronis' ear, made her touch his breath pass by.

As a perfumer a herbalist, Coronis has a certain sensitivity to scents. She can analyze any smell in detail. But she did not reveal to anyone this ability of hers.

Ethelbert's scent reminded Coronis of a glorious past of seventeenth and eighteenth-century European aristocracy. Ancient palaces, contemplative libraries, gentle tea parties, and woods with a light but pure, noble fragrance.

For a moment, Ethelbert couldn't see that Coronis's royal blue eyes flashed with a cold light that contained some murderous intent. But it only took less than two seconds. Coronis promptly regained consciousness and recovered that dangerous killing intent. Occupational diseases make her sometimes overly sensitive. She immediately reverted to her innocent cheerfulness and said:

"Condiment books, if available from Berroni, even better."

Ethelbert thought very quickly in his mind and immediately made a suggestion: "The Condiment Books section is in the same section as mine, but in the third room. I'll take you there and look for specialized books. After I borrow it, I'll come back to find you."

Coronis happily gave her thumbs up in agreement, excitedly following Ethelbert like a child about to go out.

Ethelbert took Coronis into room three to borrow books and immediately went to room ten. When he arrived, luckily, the book he needed had already been returned by Lily right before. Ethelbert smoothly took the book and went back to room three to find Coronis. On the way, he secretly imagined in his mind how she would look when she saw the books in the library. Coronis seems to be a girl who likes to read books and weird research things. That's why she wouldn't hate being friends with him, would she? She was probably now wide-eyed, gaping, and excitedly walking around Yophiel's vast library with a "why does everything look so magical?" expression. A book room here was almost as large as a standard library.

But this time, the genius of Ethelbert's guess was wrong. When Ethelbert found Coronis, she didn't appear with the jubilant excitement she had just now. In contrast, Ethelbert discovered for the first time that Coronis turned out to be equally serious and attentive when reading. Coronis held a thick leather-bound book in his hand, which looked so old that the braille on the cover was no longer visible. She stood in the middle of a long line of tall bookshelves, calmly and intently reading the book in her hand. Coronis has entered her world.

At that moment, Ethelbert shivered slightly. He felt like this was the first time they had met. Coronis is no longer the deserted tea shop owner with her quirky personality and bountiful energy; instead, she is as if she were a student of this academy, smoothly integrating into the intellectual space here. She stood calmly and confidently as if this was her home.

Ethelbert didn't want to bother her, but Coronis quickly realized he was coming.

"You're done, aren't you?" Coronis lowered his voice. Saying that she looked at the book in his hand, then smiled excitedly and approached.

"I find this book quite interesting. May I trouble you to borrow it, my lord?" Coronis winked mischievously.

Ethelbert looked away, not directly responding to her joke but tacitly agreeing: "Let's go home."

Two people were walking side by side. Coronis still voiced regret: "I never dreamed in my whole life that I would be able to walk into Yophiel or somewhere like this. If I had known that, I had dressed very well today." With that, she made a sad look over at Ethelbert.

Ethelbert suddenly felt amused. The corner of his lips lifted slightly with a very small amplitude. Today Coronis wears a plum red checkered shirt with jeans and low boots. Her fashion has always been simple, monotonous and somewhat sloppy but looks very natural. It's also the style that suits her active type and her barista work. Ethelbert wondered what she would look like when she dressed up? It'll probably just be a little more lipstick and a dress. But whatever form she took, Ethelbert imagined a sense of vivacity, freshness, and carefree innocence.

"What school did Miss Coronis go to?" Ethelbert hadn't asked Coronis's age, but he guessed she was probably older than him. Maybe she graduated.

"I didn't go to college, I just finished high school and quit."

Receiving such an unexpected answer surprised Ethelbert. He suddenly felt confused. Ethelbert thought he had a rude question for her. When he was about to apologize, Coronis immediately changed the subject. Her tone was still carefree and not very interested in the question just now:

"Are you busy now?"

"Ah, um, I don't." Ethelbert rarely stutters. Coronis seems to be the rare person that makes his thoughts run out of speed.

"So can you stop by my shop now? I want to thank you for today." Coronis was as excited as a puppy wrapped around a human, her eyes large and bright.

Ethelbert floundered, the family chauffeur still waiting for him at the top of Queen Street.

"Sorry, I'm with someone else today. My friend is waiting outside." Ethelbert agonized. It was also rare for anyone who had ever come to make him care about that person's feelings like she did.

Coronis looked regretful but happily waved goodbye to him. She said thank you and apologized for bothering him this afternoon. At the same time, Coronis also asked Ethelbert for another chance to meet:

"My lord cat, will you come to my shop again this Saturday? You must come and drink tea, I will make a new treat for you." She smiled and waved goodbye to him in the sun and walked away.

As he got into his private car, Ethelbert thought to himself about the goodbyes just now.

"Mr. Cat"? New nickname?

Do I look like a cat?

Ethelbert looked out the window. Yellow leaves were fluttering in the wind. Autumn has come to this dreamy Ellian, making people's hearts beat.

It looks like this nickname is not bad either.

On this side, as soon as she left, Coronis turned on the phone to call back the call she had just turned off.

"What were you busy with just now?" A familiar low, polite male voice came out.

"Buy something." Coronis coldly replied, "Is something wrong?"

On the other end of the line, there was only an inexplicable laugh. Marcus did not immediately respond to Coronis' question, nor did he follow up with her whereabouts.

"I'm calling just in case you forget that we're having a big party the night after tomorrow. Let's schedule time to get ready."

"Have a good appetite, Coronis. Enjoy this blood party happily."
