Chapter 15: Sorcerers

Freya 's perspective

Silas's towering form emerged at the hall door; his normally perfectly coiffed hair appeared disheveled as though he had hurried over. Leo had materialized at my side, beside me; I hadn't even noticed him at first.

"Silas!" With gratitude, I sprinted to him, and my racing heart calmed down when I saw him.

"It's okay, I'm here now." Silas knew how uncomfortable I was right away, so he comforted me by putting his arms around me and speaking quietly.

"Silas, listen to me..." I tried to explain the issue, looking up at him imploringly as I went, but the worry slowly building inside me made me unintelligible.

"It's okay, calm down, my love. Leo has told me the general situation."

Leo looked fairly ashamed when I turned to look at him. He had an unkempt appearance and was exhausted. "Forgive me for not having the strength to greet you properly, Miss Freya , and it's not easy to keep up with the Alpha." He grinned.
