IRIS POV
I woke up to a heavy, suffocating silence that didn't feel right. My body was completely exhausted from the endless birthday activities that had taken over the afternoon.
Although the pack was still supposed to be celebrating an after party of my eighteenth birthday downstairs, the festive noise had vanished.
Today was the day I finally met my wolf, a majestic creature with fur as white as freshly fallen snow. Her arrival had pushed our entire pack into a joyous double celebration.
Overwhelmed by the excitement and the heavy shift in my energy, I had fallen asleep early in the evening.
When my eyes opened, complete darkness had already settled over the world outside. My bedroom was softly lit by a lantern left behind by the maids.
I gently stood up from the mattress, realizing I was still wearing my elaborate birthday dress. I stepped out of my room into the hallway, raising my voice to call for the guards or maids.
No one answered my calls, but a sudden muffled noise from downstairs caught my attention.
"Shut the fuck up!" a cruel, booming voice barked from the lower floor. A chilling round of laughter followed right after, sending a shiver down my spine.
I crept toward the grand staircase and peeped out from behind a corner wall.
My heart shattered as I saw my father tied tightly to a heavy wooden chair. His mouth was bound securely with a thick cloth, preventing him from speaking.
Around him, our pack guards lay scattered on the floor, looking weak and beaten.
The sofa in the living room were upside down and scattered.
Seven large strange men stood firmly behind my father, each one of them holding a sword.
My throat went dry as I saw a terrifying handsome man in tiger fur coat and heavy brown boots coldly pointing the tip of his blade directly at my father's bruised neck.
I quickly covered my mouth as hot tears instantly welled up in my eyes. Different questions flooded my head.
What is going on? Why is father tied up? Who are this men?
My father's gaze shifted to the stairs, noticing my presence in the shadows. He frantically signaled me with his eyes, desperately pleading with me to stay hidden.
"You think I will take in your lies, Gideon!" the man shouted furiously. "You killed my wife."
Killed which wife? How? My father could never do that!
My father made frantic, muffled screams through the cloth, trying his best to protest the heavy accusation.
His eyes screamed that he was completely innocent of the horrific crime.
"She was pregnant, Gideon, you should have taken your anger out on me instead!" the stranger roared.
He briefly closed his eyes looking up, I watched a single streak of tears fall down his hardened face.
"Now it is my time to avenge you. Lola, I will send this scumbag to hell!"
The heavy sword was raised high into the air, ready to strike my father's neck.
"No, stop!" I screamed, running out of my hiding place without a second thought.
I threw my body directly between my father and the executioner, blocking the lethal blade which was now seconds away from my neck.
My father completely froze in shock as I stood defiantly before his attacker.
I turned around to look at his battered and bruised face, my vision blurred and tears streamed down my face. With a swift move of my hand, I ripped the tight binding away from his mouth.
He let out a single breath.
His lips were badly bruised red, making my chest tighten with absolute agony.
"Are you okay, father?" I asked in deep concern, my trembling hands checking his body for injuries.
His face filled with fresh tears as he gripped my shoulders tightly.
"You shouldn't have come out," he whispered in a broken, devastated voice.
I looked back at him through my tears and firmly shook my head in refusal.
"I can't watch you die father, you are the only one I have."
"Well, well, what a sweet family reunion," the thick, mocking voice chuckled from behind us.
I turned back around, shielding my father's body as I stared dead into the stranger's eyes.
"Don't touch my father!" I yelled defiantly, my eyes burning red with sudden Alpha fury.
Inside my mind, my newly discovered white wolf kept growing restless and wild for unknown reasons.
Keep still! I warned her sharply, trying to suppress her chaotic energy.
May the moon goddess forsake me if I choose this monstrous man as our destiny.
He stopped for a moment, looking deeply into my eyes as a strange realization crossed his face. Then, a low, dark laugh escaped his lips as he stepped closer to me.
"I never knew you had a daughter, Gideon," he murmured, his voice dripping with malice. He paused, looking me up and down with an unreadable expression.
"This is getting more interesting by the second."
Suddenly, his large palm fell heavily on my jaw, yanking my face up and pressing it tight.
I gasped, startled at the unaware touch. A wave of electricity travelled through me.
Is my wolf seriously reacting to his touch?
"Leave me alone!" I choked out, trying to twist away from his iron grip.
"I can admit she's quite beautiful, and you hid her very well," he sneered.
"Don't touch her, Ryker! Please, you can punish me all you want," my father begged from the chair.
Ryker? That name sound familiar? Could he be the Alpha of Blackthorn pack.
He smirked cruelly, ignoring the pleas as he dragged me flush against his broad chest. My breath hitched completely at the sudden, overwhelming proximity.
"I'm not so sure I can," He said, narrowing his dark eyes at my helpless father. Then, he leaned down, looking back at me with a terrifying, knowing smile.
"Or what do you say, little mate?"
I froze instantly, my entire world spinning out of control at his words.
"Impossible!" My father yelled and began to rattle violently against his wooden chair, his face pale with horror.
"Please, she is a child!" he begged in pure desperation.
RYKER POV“These are the trails of what we found,” Derek, my beta said leading towards the damaged pack house of the winter pack.Fire had burned everything to an unrecognizable ruin. The air reeked of death and the metallic scent of blood mixed with the sickening smell of charred flesh. Winter Pack members' bodies lay bloodstained on each other, their lifeless eyes wide opened horrifically. My jaw clenched.“How did this happen?”“After we left, we had reach the border and saw black smoke trailing from the pack, we rushed back but it was too late, everyone had already been slaughtered, including the two guards you left behind and Alpha Gideon had burnt to ash.”“The letter?”The silence that followed was deafening, save for the eerie whistle of the wind through the scorched ruins. Derek bowed immediately, his shoulders trembling slightly under the weight of my gaze.“I'm sorry Alpha, it was gone before we arrived here.”My eyes darkened, a cold, predatory anger flooding my veins. I
IRIS POV“Wake that lazy wolf!” A loud woman's voice jolted me awake. My heart leapt in my throat, I quickly stood up from the cold floor and crouched to my knee, watching helplessly as the cell door rattled open with a deafening screech.Three women in black and white uniform stepped in, the one leading them was older, her face looking stern. Her gaze drifted to the tray of food I left untouched before focusing back on me.Her lips curved into a cruel mocking smile and she waved a finger at the two maids.“Drag her out!”My eyes widened in fear. Was the Alpha trying to mate me now?The thought made bile rise in my throat.“Wait—” I tried to protest but the maids weren't listening. They unfastened the chains that held my hands and cornered me like a predator, dragging me up to my feet.“Let me go!” I screamed, my bare feet scraping against the rough floor as they hauled me out of the cell.“Where are you taking me?” I asked continuously but got no answer. Other maids and guards outs
IRIS POVMy eyes fluttered open, greeted by a heavy, suffocating darkness that didn't feel like home. The first thing I felt was a cold, brutal weight sinking into my skin—a thick, black iron chain was locked tightly around my neck. I tried to lift my head, but the heavy links rattled against the floor, pinning me down like an animal. The ground beneath me wasn't the soft, plush carpet of my bedroom; it was covered in rough sand and sharp, jagged stones. I was in a dungeon. The faint, silvery moonlight filtered through a tiny window high above, illuminating the damp stone walls just enough for me to see the horror of my reality. Two large guards stood like statues right outside the iron bars of the cage I was locked in. They didn't look at me, but their powerful, oppressive Alphas' scents filled the enclosed space, reminding me exactly where I belonged now.My body ached intensely from head to toe. The shape of the small, sharp stones I had been lying on for hours had pressed deep p
RYKER POV"What do we do with the girl, Alpha?" one of my men asked, bowing his head respectfully.I stopped walking and turned back to look at the unconscious girl. She was draped weakly across the back of my horse, her long hair tangled and pale against the dark leather.A cruel smirk spread across my face as I stared at her. You look so peaceful right now, little wolf. Enjoy it while it lasts."Throw her in the dungeon," I commanded, my voice cold and unyielding. The guard bowed immediately and barked orders at two other men. They lifted her limp body from the horse, dragging her toward the dark, damp stairs of the castle's lowest levels.I watched them carry her away, my chest tightening with a familiar, burning rage. I had intended to kill Alpha Gideon Winter from the very moment I stepped into his territory. We had hated each other for years, always staying far away from each other's borders to avoid bloodshed. We had a silent agreement to never cross paths, and it worked until
IRIS POVHis hands slowly released me, causing me to stumble backward.Smack!A brutal punch landed squarely on my father's face. The force of the blow cracked through the quiet room, and dark crimson blood immediately began to drip from his nose, pooling over his mouth."No!" I screamed, my voice cracking as I tried to rush to his side. Before I could take a single step, two pairs of strong, heavy hands grabbed my shoulders from behind and violently yanked me back. The psychopath let out another dark, chilling laugh. Completely ignoring my father's obvious agony, he reached down and gripped his collar, pulling him upward. My father groaned, his head moving involuntarily as his body grew weaker by the second."How dare you say that, Gideon!" Ryker roared, his eyes flashing with a terrifying, vengeful fury. "Lola also had an unborn child inside her, but you didn't spare her! So tell me, why should I spare your daughter when you brutally killed mine?""Leave him alone! Just leave him a
