Chapter eight

(Marcus POV)

We were both walking by the river hand to hand, just me and my silver rose. The woman I love and wanted to not only spend my life with, but to have my pups with. As we were walking, I watched her silver hair blowing into the wind, her pale porcelain skin glowing in the moonlight, and her musical laughter caressing my ears. Before I knew it, she let go of my hand and started to run ahead of me laughing as she looks back at me wanting me to chase her. I smiled as I started to chase my beautiful mate, but the more I chase the further she got from me until I no longer can see her. I stop to try and pick up her scent of Gardenia and vanilla, but not even a hint of it could be found. Out of nowhere the winds started to pick up to become cold and cruel against the skin on my face. Then it became deadly quiet until a scream cuts into the silent air, and it was my silver rose screaming in pure pain. I ran toward the sound to find her still body lying on the forest floor with blood
