“Kai will be joining you shortly.” Rune said as he stepped away from the dining table but remained at a distance where she could see her clearly.

Akira just sat at the long table as she stared into the open space.

He did not need to leave her without supervision,he could tell she had other plans.

True to his intuition, Akira did have plans to escape.

To Rune, she was admiring the glory of the dining room but she had something much more sinister in mind.

As soon as she heard the door close behind Rune she stood and got to work instantly.

She has seen a couple of windows in the dinning, but she needed to confirm the quality of the glass and the distance of the window from the ground.

She had made up her mind, she was not going to sit and watch the six months be over just like that.

This was the first phase of her numerous plans to escape, getting alone.

“Hello?” She called out, just to ensure that there was no one around watching her.

Rune knew better, he kept quiet.

Satisfied, she made her way to the window and tried to open it.

She smiled as the window swung open easily without any troubles.

Looking down, her smile disappeared, leaving a slight frown in its wake, it was a long way down, a risk she contemplated on.

“This is your chance Akira, why don't you take it now that you have the chance.” She muttered.

She heard a noise, at least she thought she did as she looked back and saw no one there.

“That was a close one!” Rune whispered from his hiding place, he had put his entire weight on the curtains causing the railing to rattle, drawing Akira's attention.

“There!” She gasped as she approached Rune's hiding place.

She reached out for the curtains but changed her mind midway.

Her reason being that the curtain would make so much noise.

But the table cloth….

“Yes,” she said excitedly as she carefully got the tablecloth and tugged on it.

“This should do.”

She hurriedly got to work, fastening own end of the table cloth to a pillar close by and throwing the other end down the window.

“This should work.” She thought as she looked out the window one more time to determine how far the cloth would get her.

There was still some distance between the end of her makeshift rope And the ground.

A distance Akira believed to be small.

“I can survive a fall from that distance” she muttered to herself, “I am not made of glass after all.”

Rune from his hiding place wanted to stop her but he just wanted to see how far she was willing to go with this idea of hers.

He knew for a fact that Kai would not be pleased with his actions but that was one risk he was willing to take.

“She's really doing it…” he muttered excitedly as Akira climbed on the window railing.

“Ehem!”

They both froze, Akira on the window sill And Rune from behind the curtains.

Akira turned to see Kai all dressed up in a suit with the first few buttons open.

She never ever imagined that there would come a time in her life when she would behold the chest of a man and think “beautiful!”

His hair looked wet as they shone under the dinner lights.

The man who stood before her was absolutely gorgeous.

She temporarily forgot why she was trying to escape, right, he was also the one who was keeping her captive like some farm animal.

“What are you doing?” He asked.

Apparently she had everything planned out except the possibility of her being caught.

“Uh?” She replied, pretending not to have heard the question out to her with her hands clenching tightly to the cloth.

“I said,” Kai repeated, this time with a tone of anger, “what are you doing?”

“It's all right,” Akira thought, “you just have to tell him that you love the cool air….”

“Answer me!” Kai barked.

“Nothing!” She answered fearfully, her hand trembling.

“And where is Rune?” Kai asked no one in particular, “he was supposed to be with you.”

“He went out,he said it was something about getting something.” Akira answered.

“Fuck fuck fuck!” Rune cursed from his hiding place.

He did not want to even begin to imagine what Kai would do to him.

“Get out of there now, I know you're trying to escape, you can't be that foolish are you?”

Akira's face flushed with anger, his obnoxious attitude and condescending tone only made things worse.

Livid, she replied,“Heck no, I know that you are not speaking to me, not with that language.”

Kai's already opened mouth was shut forcefully.

He had never been spoken to in that manner before, Thai was new to him.

And even worse, it was a human who spoke to him in such a manner.

“Do you know who you are speaking to?’ be asked.

“Well I know more than enough to take my chances jumping off this window than with you!”

Kia could tell that her mind was made up, “step away from the window, just come in and we would talk this out!”

He hated that he had to be in such an unpleasant situation and he even hated himself more for meaning what he said.

He did not want to see her hurt herself, as much as he tried, Kai cared.

In this case, Kai was scared.

He knew Akira would not survive if she fell from that height.

“Do not come any closer.” She warned.

Kai listened and obeyed, “step away from the window, just come in and we will talk.” He said softly.

She was about to give him a response when Rune came into the dinning room.

She lost her grip and let out a loud yelp.

“Ah!” She cried.

With his Lycan abilities, Kai rushed towards the window at the speed of light and grabbed her by the wrist.

With the cold night wind stinging her skin and spreading her hair everywhere, Akira could only see her life flash before her eyes.

“I don't want to die!” She muttered, “I just want to live a happy normal life.”

Kai was touched, but he knew better than to let his emotions show

He was still pissed at her stupid decisions.

“Don't let go…” she pleaded.

Kai was no longer in control at this point, his inner wolf was awake at her plea.

With one movement, Kai pulled her in with such a force that sent the both of them hurling with Akira landing on Kai's body, their heavy breaths syncing.

They remained in that position for a while and they could have both been in that position longer if they were not interrupted by Orion's looming shadow.

“Sorry I'm late, but from what I can see, one can say that dinner is off to a good start”

On the surface, one would think Rune was just being a jerk when he asked about the houndras. But on a much deeper level, there was something far more terrifying. “At least let me get changed into something else before shoving me into the bathroom” Akira protested. “Well there is no time, we just have thirty minutes to get you prepared for dinner.” “Kai doesn't like to be kept waiting.” Akira smirked, enjoying the devious look it had on her reflection in the mirror, “is he an impatient man?” She asked. “Well yes…” rune answered speedily, “wait ... .wait wait…” he said as he gave a second thought to the question and the answer that he gave. “No,no, no, he is not that.” He corrected me. “What is he not? Impatient or a man?” She asked, enjoying the games she was playing. “The first.” Rune said. “So he is a man? Impatience is a common virtue amongst men, trust me, I would know about that.” She said as she struggled with her laughter. “Enough of this rubbish, just have y
