[Mia’s POV]

I stared off into the distance, my mind whirling a mile a minute. Why was it since Armal left that I had this strange feeling rushing through me? Did it have to do with something Amya was feeling or simply me?

Deciding that it wouldn’t hurt to investigate, I reached out, peeking in on what was happening in the real world. Immediately, I regretted my decision when I found Amya and Mykel practically eating each other’s faces.

Grimacing I pulled back, but stopped as I sensed Armal’s familiar energy lurking nearby. Frowning, I extended my own energy as something about the way he felt was off, but I couldn’t quite place my finger on what it was.

As if realizing that I was alert, Amya’s hazy mind began to clear as she broke her physical connection to Mykel.

‘What’s wrong?’ She rasped, sending unfamiliar waves of emotion through me.

‘I don’t know,’ I responded honestly. ‘Something feels off.’
