“I can kill you in your own house

And make it seem like an accident”

Author’s P. O. V.

Yash walked downstairs as his mother stood up; “where are you going Yash?” she asked.

“Office,” He said before he touched her feet to take her blessing. His mother kept her hand on his head as she looked at him with a worried look on his face.

“maa…” He looked at her as she took a deep breath.

“You should take a rest,” She said to him but he shook his head; work was the only thing that could keep his mind off things and save him from going into depression.

If he was not already.

“I have no more excuses to avoid work maa, I need to be there,” Yash said; he was skipping work for the last 3 months but now he does not have any other reason to avoid work.

“How much will Jai handle alone? He needs my help,” Yash said as his mother nodded at him; he walked out of the mansion and sat in the car.

There were a lot of media people were standing right outside of his mansion; he was not in the mood to bear with them so he just asked the driver to drive straight to Kapoor industries.

On the other hand, Jai slammed the remote on the coffee table as his secretary flinched, “Sue them, sue them right this second, how dare they say anything like this about my family?” He was boiling in anger. The media was talking rubbish about Yash once again.

Well, it was not the first time in all these years but this was the worse they could call him.

“Listen, no one, no one will tell Yash anything about it, nobody will turn on any news channels or anything, circulate this message in the entire building right now,” He ordered his secretary as she ran out in the next second.

“God! Please do not let Yash know anything about this,” He prayed as he picked up his call to talk to the editor-in-chief of the news channels personally.

“Thank you,” Yash said as the driver opened the door for him; he closed the button of his blazer before he walked inside the building.

Everyone stilled as they saw him, especially in white.

Yash noticed everyone’s graze on him; some were looking at him with anger. And others with pity. He took a deep breath before he nodded at them when they greeted him good morning.

He moved towards his private elevator as the doors opened.

He let his body lean onto the wall as he closed his eyes, “Fuck! Jaan this is more difficult than I thought it would be,” He said as he looked at her photo that he always kept in his purse.

A voice from his head came, ‘ I wish you were here to say it’ll be alright but you are not,’

He felt the pain flow in his veins as the thought sink in. he stopped the elevator and sat on the ground taking deep breaths.

“Everything will be fine, it has to be fine,” he said to himself as he stood up.

‘And what if it isn’t?’ the voice in his head came back with another bang.

“Then I will make it fine,” He quoted Shayra as he smiled. Her attitude of never giving up gave him strength; lord knows he only has her memories as his strength now.

He pressed the button again as the elevator started to move, He was going to face the world on his own, it was scary but it was definitely his win.

“Hey baby,” She heard his voice as she clenched her jaw; her hands turned into a fist as he came in front of her.

“God must really have some enmity with me that your food pipe did not get blocked and you did not choke on your own vomit,” She said hatefully as he smirked.

“Done with your everyday hate quota Zoya? Make me tea please,” He said as she stood up with the help of the door handle.

“Why do you make me do all this when you have thousands of people standing at your door for your order,” She murmured as she walked towards the kitchen; her hands kept shaking as she picked up the pan and poured some water into it.

“They do not add love in everything like you do baby,” He said as he stood behind her; she put tea in water as she turned to look at him.

“I wish I could pour rat poison into everything,” she said as she picked up the bottle of milk; her hands were shaking badly, she managed to add milk to the pan but some of it spilled because of her shaky hands.

“Hawwwww! You will give me the death of a rat? You heartless woman,” He said dramatically as she gulped the sadness in her throat.

She glared at him as her eyes filled with tears; “sorry sweetheart we ran out of poison, think of something else and clean that shit,” He said as he walked out of the kitchen, she looked at the spilled milk on the countertop and sighed.

The tea continued to boil as she picked up the paper towels and cleaned them.

With just this much work, she was tired as hell.

“Zoya chai!” (Tea) He shouted from the living room as she made a fist of her hand again, ‘God why don’t you just call him up there and make my life problem free?’ She thought before filling the cup with tea.

Again she spilled some of it as she sighed; she will need to clean this again.

Taking slow steps towards the living room; she held the cup in both hands so nothing could be spilled anymore. She does not need to spend the rest of the day cleaning the floor.

She handed him the cup as he made a tsk sound.

“It got cold, what were you even doing Zoya,” He said as he took a sip of the tea nevertheless.

“Planning your murder,” She said as she slowly walked back to the kitchen.

“Kabir,” Her voice was low, she could not even shout to call him.

“Yes, sweetheart?” He came towards her smiling with the empty cup in his hand.

“Hand that pressure cooker to me,” she said as she pointed at the cabinet that was way too high for her; he nodded as he picked it up and placed it on the countertop.

She put the lid on the countertop as the rubber of the lid fell on the ground; she looked at him, he was busy typing something on his phone.

Taking a deep breath she picked the rubber from the floor and put it around his neck tightly as he started coughing.

“Zo—Zoya “He breathed as he used his hands to pull the rubber from his neck.

Zoya used all her strength as she felt a crack in her wrist, her hold went loose on him as he gained his composer and took her hair in his grip, and without thinking anything he banged her head on the wall making her faint.
