Three days later, at dusk.

I was in the garden trimming roses when a servant ran up to me.

"Luna, there's someone at the gate." His face was pale. "It's Corbin, but…"

"But what?"

"He looks… terrible."

I put down my shears and walked to the gate.

I could hear his wails from a distance.

Through the iron bars, I saw a figure covered in bandages, kneeling on the ground.
