Chapter 2

Lying on my bed, I can't even remember what happened last night. All I can remember is that I cried my heart out. My eyes are both swollen. Remembering the past would do me no good. After spending most of my hours thinking about a lot of things, I'm amazed by myself for doing nothing but faze this whole time.

And so, I decided to take a stroll. Tomorrow, the graduation ceremony will be held. I still have time left since my dad's people will be the ones to assist me tomorrow. I prepared myself and picked the outfit I was comfortable with. I also used tinted eyeglasses to hide my eyes. However, I'm not worried because it's not like they would know my identity. It's easy to be incognito and avoid paparazzi. Thanks to my dad's sources, I can still have a normal life.

I drive my car, which I owned when I was still this age. Ah, how I miss my baby. It was a newly bought and customized one. Gosh, I need to bring my baby back to life!

I find it weird to drive my old car. I feel anxious and somewhat afraid. I remember that the reason I replaced it was because it almost led me to death! The brakes were damaged, but the evidence said that they were set up. In the end, someone said it was their plan and was punished by the law. Chills run down my spine. I immediately stopped the car.

"So... how am I supposed to drive you now?" I rolled my eyes and turned off the engines. I get out of the car and text the head assistant of mine to bring the car back home. I didn't leave the keys since they have the duplicate, and it's not a problem even if they don't have one. They have their ways.

I start to take a walk. It's not that far from the restaurant where I will eat breakfast. Walking on the pavement, I saw lots of things. A man is walking his dog. A child is holding cotton candy. Everything seems so normal, or so I thought. A man was harassing an old lady. He beats her using his rod, and I can't help but get mad at the man.

"Hey, you!" I yell while my arms are crossed. They looked at me, and he laughed.

"Don't act like a heroic little girl. I can also beat pretty girls like you, you know?" His gold earrings are shimmering and his teeth are silver. Chains of gold necklaces are hanging from his piggy neck. I looked at him from head to toe—what an arrogant pest!

"Granny, are you alright?" I asked the lady as I helped her stand up.

"You should go. Don't help me, or else you will be troubled," the frightened old lady said. I feel sad for her. Even if she knew someone would help her, she insisted on shouldering all the problems and didn't want to cause trouble for others. How can a man beat a kind lady like this? I smiled at the lady and said,

"Don't worry, I got this."

The man smirked and arrogantly said, "That old hag didn't pay her rent on time." He rubbed his hands as if saying that I should give him money.

"I heard that you will help her. Am I right? The money will be doubled because of her consumption of my precious time." I didn't let him finish his words. I dialed my friend's number and said,

"Hey, Marv, I've got some info about the guy you said last time. I got the proof, witnesses, and records about his misbehavior. I'll send the location. Do as you please, but make sure this man will be behind bars before the sun sets." I smiled as I saw the frightened face of the man we were talking about. He looks around, and some people are now capturing video of him. To be honest, I don't even know this man, but I can feel that he is not a good person. Based on my judgment, he needs to be in jail.

'Tch, what are you? My boss? Hahaha, well, sure. Thanks for the information. My team will be there in a moment.

I could hear his laugh, but I didn't bother to mind it. I gently smiled and said a short thank-you. After dropping the call, I looked at the man.

"Oh, by the way, I will also buy the land here." The man gasped and was really shocked about what happened. He can't even utter anything. Before we knew it, some police patrols were now going on in this area.

"Things will be alright now." I comforted the lady. She cried and thanked me. I am planning on making her manage this place, but there will be lots of procedures to follow. If she can do it, why not? But before that, I'll let Dad know this first.

"Ahhh! Watch out!!" Someone shouts from the crowds. As I looked at them, the man who was like a statue a moment ago was now charging at me. Things happened so fast that I couldn't move. Luckily, someone threw a rock at his feet, making him fall to the ground. The men from the crowd charged at him to stop his movements.

I looked around and didn't see who did it. There were many people, so I didn't know. After saying goodbye to the old lady, I decided to head to the restaurant, which I had planned to visit. I need to eat; I haven't had my breakfast yet.

The restaurant I'm talking about is owned by my very own friend, Ysekiel. Oh wait, at this moment, it was still under her dad's management.

"Kianna?" I was about to enter the restaurant when a familiar voice called my name. It was Nikolai. I smiled and greeted him.

"Nikolai? Woah, hello. What's up?" It was kind of awkward to talk to him since he is the best friend of Francis. He is also my friend, but they are much closer.

"Haha, I'm just taking a walk," he said, but he constantly looked at the restaurant. I tried to hide my smirk. He is indeed here to see Ysekiel.

"Wh-what?" he asked. I slightly lifted my hand and waved it a little.

"Nothing. Oww, I'm heading inside to eat. Wanna come?" Since I know you are a kind guy, I won't mind helping you out to ask Seki on a date. Well, it's up to her if she wants to. But let's hope for the best.

I stop and feel like there is something wrong. I looked around to see who was staring at me, but I found nothing. Everything seems to be alright, but I can still feel the gaze of that person. Who might be? It's uncomfortable.

"Um, is there something wrong?" Nikolai asked me, and I just nodded my head lightly.

"Yeah..."

The staff opens the door as we head inside.

"Please tell Ysekiel that Kianna is here," I told the waiter, and he immediately said politely,

"Ms. Kianna, the seat is already prepared. This way, please." I shrug my shoulders. I never told my announcement to come here, though.

I looked at Nikolai, and I could sense that he was somehow worried. Well, you got it; be a man. I checked my phone and texted Seki.

'I'm here, hurry! I have a present for you. Teehee,

I sent it and smiled.

We headed into the area the waiter was talking about. Well, as I can say, I'm quite special, so their family let me have the VIP room. While waiting, I looked at the menu. I smiled. In no time, this menu will be filled with new foods that Seki herself has created.

"Kianna, by the way, I texted Kieffer—I mean, Francis, it's fine with you, right?" Nikolai's words are like cold water. It makes me shiver. I tried to laugh. Of course, it's not fine! It isn't!

"Kianna~" I heard Ysekiel's voice, and so did Francis's.
