As Mr. Harris made his way out of the house after his conversation with Ned, he was stopped by Ned's grandmother, who had been a silent observer of the tense encounter between Maria and him earlier. She approached him with a gentle expression, her eyes filled with remorse.

"Mr. Harris," she began softly, her voice tinged with regret, "I'm truly sorry for how Maria reacted earlier. She's been carrying a lot of pain for a long time, and sometimes it spills over in moments like these."
