Chapter 64 - King Winston
While the medical staff works on me, I turn and look across the room at my daughter.
I wanted so badly to wake up for her coronation. I could hear everything that was going on around me in the room, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t fight through the darkness to get into the light. The darkness kept pulling me back.
It took me longer than I thought, but I’ve finally managed to get back here and to the people I love. However, what have I come back to?
Guilt washes over me as I think about Irene. If I knew this would happen, I would have never agreed to let her date or even marry Robert. However, I didn’t have any clue back then that she would pull something like this.
Even though I’ve exiled her brother and kept his crimes hidden from the world, I know I can’t do the same with her. Too many people saw her attack on me on a live broadcast.
