~Nolan’s POV~

The air in the fortress was heavy when I returned. Even the guards stood stiffer, their eyes lowered as I passed. Fear always had a scent, it lingered in places like this, thick and sharp, crawling into the corners where people thought no one noticed.

I liked that scent. It reminded everyone who they served.

Elias followed closely behind, muttering something about the trade routes and shipment balances, but I wasn’t listening. My mind had been quiet for days, and I hated it. It was too easy to think when things were quiet, too easy for her face to appear in my head when I didn’t want it to.

Aliyana.

Even saying her name in my mind felt like a mistake. I should have left her in that room and forgotten her. Locked her away until she stopped being a problem. That would have been the smart thing to do. But every time I closed my eyes, I saw the look on her face when she saw her sister being punished. The way her eyes filled with tears she tried to hide. The way she trembled

  • To Tame The Monster Alpha   Chapter 65

~ Nolan’s POV~The smell of smoke hit me before I even entered the lower corridors. It was faint at first, like iron and ash but as I descended the spiral steps that led to the holding cells, it grew stronger. Hotter. The guards that were supposed to be stationed here were gone. Not dead. Not even unconscious. Just gone.My jaw tightened as I walked, boots hitting the damp stone floor with slow, deliberate thuds. The torches on the walls flickered in rhythm with my steps. My wolf was restless beneath my skin, pacing, snarling, warning.Something was wrong.By the time I reached the final gate, the stench of burnt metal filled the air. The sight that greeted me made the anger in my chest curl and hiss like fire meeting oil.The cell door was torn open, melted open. The bars twisted outwards, glowing faintly red at the edges. And she was gone.Aliyana.I stood there for a moment, letting the silence wrap around me, letting the realization sink in. She had done this. Somehow, the same gi

  • To Tame The Monster Alpha   Chapter 64

~Aliyana’s POV~The silence was starting to drive me mad.Days had passed,or maybe weeks. I wasn’t sure anymore. There were no windows in this place, no way to tell time except by the rhythm of my hunger and the ache in my chest. No one came to see me. Not Maren. Not Nolan. Not even the guards who used to deliver food I could barely swallow. Now, they didn’t bother at all.I was left with nothing but my thoughts, and they were louder than any screams I’d heard echoing through the fortress walls.Alessia’s voice still haunted me.Stay the hell away from me. You’re not my blood sister. Those words looped in my head, twisting and reshaping until they felt like claws scraping against my skull. I wanted to hate her for saying them, but all I could feel was confusion. Pain. Desperation to understand. How could we not be sisters? How could everything I’d known every shared moment, every secret whispered between us be a lie?The air in the room was cold, damp, and heavy with the scent of st

  • To Tame The Monster Alpha   Chapter 63

~Calista’s POV~Nolan hadn’t touched me in weeks. The realization burned like acid every time I thought about it, every time I caught the faintest scent of him in the halls and my body reacted out of habit. It used to be simple, he would call for me, I would come, and the world would tilt in my favor for as long as his attention lasted. Power, desire, control, it all flowed easily then. But now? Now he barely looked at me.And when he did, it was never with want.It was with irritation, impatience, and that quiet, dangerous edge that meant his mind was somewhere else. Somewhere it shouldn’t be.Somewhere on her.Aliyana.Even thinking her name made my teeth clench. She had ruined everything the moment she arrived—her quiet defiance, her maddening innocence that twisted into something stronger every time Nolan looked her way. He didn’t even try to hide it anymore. The way his eyes followed her when she entered a room, the way his voice changed when he spoke to her.I noticed everything

  • To Tame The Monster Alpha   Chapter 61

~Nolan Pov~Rage simmered through me like wildfire. Every time I thought about what happened with Aliyana and her damned sister, it clawed deeper. The sound of that girl’s screams still echoed in my head, and I hated that part of me, some twisted part, had flinched when I saw Aliyana’s face twist in pain. She brought it on herself. She kept testing limits she didn’t understand, walking right into a storm she wasn’t built to survive. And yet, she made me feel like I was the one losing control.Aliyana.Her name had become a curse in my thoughts. It twisted there, refusing to leave, no matter how many times I told myself to let it go. She was a problem—stubborn, disobedient, reckless. And yet, every time I saw her, I found myself losing the edge I prided myself on keeping sharp.I saw her breaking. And it shouldn’t have mattered. She brought it upon herself. She should have stayed in her room. She should have listened. She should have trusted me enough to stay away from the one person

  • To Tame The Monster Alpha   Chapter 60

Aliyana’s POVThe next morning came like a blur. I didn't remember falling asleep, but when my eyes opened, the dim light spilling through the barred window told me it was already another day.Silence.That was all there was.No footsteps in the corridor, no servants bringing breakfast, no familiar knock from Maren telling me to get ready.Just silence, heavy and loud enough to drive me insane. My throat was dry. My stomach ached from hunger, but that wasn’t what hurt the most. What hurt was the thought of Alessia’s voice echoing in my head, replaying over and over. You’re not my sister. Each time I heard it again, it cut deeper.I sat on the floor, knees pulled to my chest, staring at the single ray of light crawling across the stone floor. I had tried calling for someone at first, pounding on the door, demanding to be let out. But no one came.No answer. No sound.Just the faint, haunting quiet of my own thoughts.I had been locked away before, but this was different. This wasn’t pu
