Scarlett

The moment I saw the paramedics arrive, I stepped aside and allowed them to take control of the situation.

Two of them quickly knelt beside Barrister Steven while another brought out a medical kit. They checked his pulse, breathing, and responsiveness before carefully placing him on a stretcher.

"Please, give us some space," one of the paramedics instructed.

The crowd immediately moved backward.

I remained where I was, watching as they secured Steven and lifted him into the ambulance.

  • Too Late To Take Me Back Alpha    Chapter 149

Scarlett The fight was almost over. Only a handful of rogues remained. My warriors surrounded them from every direction. One tried to surrender. Another attempted to run.Usher brought him down.Within minutes, the battlefield fell silent.I shifted back into my human form.I stood there breathing heavily, my body covered in blood.Usher immediately approached and handed me a dress."Are you all right, Alpha?""I'm fine.""I'm glad." He smiled faintly.I looked toward the remaining rogue."Don't kill him."Two warriors who had been about to attack immediately stopped."Leave him alive."I walked toward him. "We need answers."The rogue was on his knees, breathing heavily.I crouched in front of him."Who sent you?"He looked at me with fear in his eyes."I can't tell you.""You can."He shook his head desperately. "No, Alpha.""Tell me who sent you."His eyes filled with tears. "If I tell you, my family will die."My expression hardened. "Whoever sent you cannot reach your family if

ScarlettI was already reaching for the weapon hanging beside the door when Usher stepped in front of me."Alpha, wait.""What?" I turned sharply. His expression was tense as he glanced at the weapon in my hand. "You do not have to go out there. We have enough warriors. Let us handle this."I shook my head."My people are under attack.""Exactly," Usher said. "Which is why you should remain here where you are safe."I stared at him. "Safe?" My grip tightened around the weapon. "While my people are being slaughtered outside?""Alpha...""No, Usher."My voice was firm."I am their Alpha. If they are willing to fight for me, then I am willing to fight beside them."He sighed heavily."I knew you were going to say that."I almost smiled."Then stop trying to change my mind."Before he could argue again, I pushed past him and hurried down the palace steps. The moment I stepped outside, the sounds of battle became clearer.Screams, howls, weapons clashing, and the terrifying growls of wolve

  • Too Late To Take Me Back Alpha    Chapter 147

Scarlett The next morning, I woke up with a slight headache.I groaned softly and turned beneath the covers.Something felt wrong. The room was unusually quiet. I opened my eyes and looked around.Dominic wasn't there.I frowned.I reached for my phone on the bedside table and checked the time.My eyes widened."Eight o'clock?" I immediately sat up. "Why did I sleep this late?"I had an important meeting this morning.Several foreign investors were coming to Moonlight Pack, and I was supposed to meet them early.I threw the blanket aside and was about to get out of bed when the bedroom door opened.I froze.Dominic walked inside carrying a breakfast tray.He smiled when he saw me."Good morning, sunshine."I stared at him. Then I looked at the clock."Why didn't you wake me?""Because you needed sleep." He placed the tray on the small table."Dominic, I have an important meeting!""I know.""Then why didn't you wake me?"He walked closer. "Because you were exhausted yesterday."I ope

Scarlett I turned toward the security officer."Can you identify him?""No, Alpha.""Enhance the footage.""We're trying."The image sharpened slightly. The man's clothes remained impossible to identify. His face was completely covered. But his eyes... I stared at them. There was something strangely familiar about them.I couldn't explain it. Something about the shape. The intensity. The way he looked toward the corridor before leaving.I felt a chill move down my spine."Stop." The footage froze. "Zoom in on his eyes."The security officer obeyed. The screen displayed his eyes more clearly.I studied them carefully."Can you run facial recognition using the visible features?""With only the eyes?""Try.""Yes, Alpha."The system began processing.I remained completely still.Usher stood beside me."Alpha, do you recognize him?""No." I continued staring at the screen. "But I have a feeling..." I paused. "...that we've seen those eyes before."The system beeped.Everyone turned towar

  • Too Late To Take Me Back Alpha    Chapter 145

ScarlettThe underground corridor felt colder than usual as Usher and I made our way toward the detention cells. Two guards were already waiting outside the cell where the rogue had been held. The moment they saw me, they bowed."Alpha Scarlett."I nodded. "Open the door.""Yes, Alpha."One of the guards unlocked the heavy iron door and pushed it open.I stepped inside. Then I stopped. The rogue was sitting on a wooden chair in the middle of the room. His elbows rested on his knees, while his head was lowered into his palms. From a distance, it looked as though he was simply exhausted."Has he been like this since?" I asked. One of the guards shook his head."No, Alpha. He was awake when we checked on him a while ago."I frowned."Then wake him."The guard approached him. "Hey"There was no response. He tapped his shoulder."Hey."Nothing.The guard shook him harder.Still nothing.Something cold moved through me."What's wrong with him?"The guard immediately grabbed his shoulder and

  • Too Late To Take Me Back Alpha    Chapter 144

ScarlettThe moment our convoy entered Moonlight Pack territory, I felt a strange mixture of excitement and responsibility settle over me.The honeymoon had been everything I could have dreamed of. Dominic had made sure every moment was special, from the luxurious resort to the quiet evenings we spent together. For the first time in my life, I had allowed myself to forget about enemies, pack politics, responsibilities, and the painful memories that had once followed me everywhere.I had simply been Scarlett. His wife. His Luna. And now, as the familiar landscape of Moonlight Pack came into view, reality slowly returned.I was an Alpha. My people needed me.Dominic's hand rested gently over mine as we sat in the back of the car."Are you nervous?" he asked.I glanced at him."A little."He smiled."You don't have to be.""I know."I looked through the window at the familiar roads and buildings."But this is different now. Before, I was preparing to become Alpha. Now, I actually am one.

Scarlett's POV I stood beside my father's body until the doctors came to prepare him. Then I stepped outside, leaned against the cold corridor wall, closed my eyes, and gave myself exactly sixty seconds to fall apart. Sixty seconds. That was all I could afford. When I opened my eyes again, Ushe

  • Too Late To Take Me Back Alpha    chapter 2

Scarlett’s POV When I opened my eyes again, the first thing that hit me was the light. It was too bright. I squinted my eyes, raising my hand to block the sunlight pouring through the window. My heart was beating fast, but… not in pain. I froze. No pain? Slowly, I sat up. My breathing was ste

  • Too Late To Take Me Back Alpha    chapter 1

Scarlett’s POV I groan softly, a sharp pain tearing through my chest as I struggle to breathe. Each inhale feels like I’m drowning, like something is crushing my lungs from the inside. I can feel it. Goddess, I’m dying. The realization settles heavily in my chest, colder than the pain itself. Bu
