"Why?" Ergon asked.

"Just don't come close. Leave me alone, Ergon," Valeria said in a glare.

Ergon didn't listen but moved closer to her, and placed both his hands at each side of the wall with her head in the middle. Since he was taller than her, he had to crouch down at her level.

Valeria quickly turned her face away, she didn't want to look into his eyes.

"Why are you avoiding my gaze, Valeria?" Ergon asked.

Their close proximity affected Valerian. She could feel his hot breath fanning her face, and it made her shiver.

"Talk to me, what's wrong with you? Why are you suddenly avoiding me?"

"I'm not avoiding you, Ergon, so please get away from me. I need to use the restroom." She replied, with her face still turned away from him.

"You're sure you're not avoiding me?"

"Yes."

"Okay then, prove it." .

Valeria remembered Noah also said that to her when she had told him she wasn't afraid of him. He had asked her to prove it to him.
