~ Aria's POV ~

I stood there, completely confused about why they acted like I didn't exist. Wasn’t this what they wanted? For me to stay? So why were they treating me like a ghost? Then the mean words I had said to them—especially to Thorne—hit me, like an iron fist to the chest.

Of course, Raven and Thorne were angry. They had every right to be after the way I spoke to them. But why was Lucian in it too? The only wrong I did was not saying goodbye to him, and he was kind of mean. Among the three of them, he was the only one who didn't try to stop me from leaving.

I glanced over at him. For a second, his eyes met mine—but then he looked away, pretending he hadn’t seen me. He turned back to his friends. Isolde was there too, perched beside them like a queen on her poisonous throne, and the look she shot me could have peeled my skin off.
