CHAPTER 2

|| ASHVARA's POV ||

" LET ME GO! LET ME GO!! Ugghh.."

I screamed from the top of my lungs, only getting whipped in return. They dragged me all through the hallway until they threw me like a sack of potatoes in front of Astar.

I lifted my head with teary eyes and asked Astar,

" What did I do wrong? I have cleaned the clothes and...."

My words got stuck in my throat when something pressed on my neck, forcing me straight to the ground. Isolde put all her strength on my head until I was thrashing underneath her feet. Astar pointed at the dead body lying in front of my eyes,

" Explain your crime! You better have some fucking answer for killing an innocent child."

I lifted my head to take a good look at his face. He was the child of one of Isolde's maids in line. Three days ago, his mother was weeping to me that her boy was sick and she had no money left to take him to the healer. She also added that Isolde never cared for their well-being. I offered her the herbal medicine that I made from natural extracts. It was one of my secret hobbies that I mastered over the years. Although I couldn't do anything big, it was helpful to many maids around.

The boy's mother knelt in front of the Alpha, shouting and crying hysterically,

" My boy! My poor boy! Alpha! You must give justice to me! Her medicine killed the boy. She must have done it out of vengeance for Lady Isolde."

I cried out loudly and explained myself on repeat,

" NOOO! Never! I will never harm any innocent! ALPHA! There must be a misunderstanding. My medicine has proven records. No one was harmed before. Ask the maids around who used my medicine. THIS IS ALL A LIE!"

Another slap met my face before I could finish my words. This time, it was Astar who caught my jaw tight and pointed at the dead body of the boy,

" YOU BITCH! You still dare to lie even after watching his dead body?"

He continued with a scowl, looking around the stunned pack members,

" Now you all can see why I rejected this useless Omega."

His Alpha voice commanded with a roar, shuddering my wolf, who was whimpering in pain,

" Throw her into the dungeon! She deserves to be rotten there. She will go through trial in front of the werewolf council."

I screamed and begged with all my heart, but no one stepped up for me. Even though I was the culprit in the eyes of everyone, I knew in my heart that I did nothing wrong. Isolde shouted in my back as they dragged me all the way until my knees were bleeding,

" Make sure that she gets no food. A criminal like her doesn't deserve a single portion."

" Look...look..look.. What is happening to the worthy, Luna?"

I passed out after hours of torture upon my weak soul. They branded me with silver chains, painted with wolfsbane. Each time moved a limb, the pain went straight into my bones. Isolde's voice woke me up from my dizzy state. She was standing outside of the dungeon gate, wearing the creepiest smile,

" Tsk... What happened to the Luna?"

I had already guessed her plot. I spoke in a trembling voice, lifting my head slightly,

" Why??...why do you hate me so much? I...I... never even tried to take your place..."

Her eyes darkened at the instant. Grabbing the dungeon gate, she sneered with disgust,

" You guessed right. I killed the boy for you and gave his mother plenty to act well in front of the Alpha. How did you like my master plan?"

Tears streamed down my eyes in pain and remorse. A little boy had to give his life out of vengeance. I replied in a choking voice, lifting my head slightly,

" You.... you are... a monster...I never disobeyed you....You treat me like a slave, and I accept.... everything without a word..Why... why did you kill...the innocent boy?"

Isolde shouted back, her voice ringing in the empty dungeon,

" BECAUSE I WANT YOU DEAD! As long as you breathe, I can't be the formal Luna. Stormridge never allows a chosen mate bond if the fated mate is alive and breathing. Why did you have to be his fated mate? Why a unworthy rogue like you have to be the fated LUNA out of everyone?"

I felt disgust crawling over my body after her words. She was so greedy for the position that she had even killed an innocent one. Seris whimpered faintly in my head,

" I wish... we could kill her..."

Unfortunately, we were too weak for that!

I cried out in pain; each time I moved, the pain only intensified further,

" I NEVER WANTED ANYTHING!"

Isolde scoffed, waving at the main gate for someone to enter,

" But you never leave, nor do you stay out of Astar's eyesight. No worries! I have arranged one last gift for you."

A group of young wolves entered at her command. I recognized a few of them who had joined the pack recently. Most of them were punished for violating pack moral codes. Isolde continued speaking with an evil grin, passing the key to the rogues,

" Let these boys have your taste before you hang to death!"

NOOO!!

I screamed with all my strength, praying that someone would hear me,

" NOOO!! How can you do..this to a woman? I will be dead or go into exile, but please... please don't do this to me..."

It was better to be dead than to be raped!

Isolde ignored my cries and talked to the boys,

" Just make sure that she doesn't have any cent of dignity left. By any chance, if she gets spared this time, the pack members will definitely throw her out."

I begged with tears in my eyes as the rogues started entering the dungeon; each of them had an evil glint in their eyes,

" Nooo!! Please... please... don't do this to me... please...I beg you..."

One of them roared with a slap on my cheeks,

" Shut up, bitch! Otherwise it will be rough hell for you!"

The bald one came closer and reached out for my gown. Just as he attempted to pull it down, some guards barged into the dungeon. Isolde shouted at them angrily,

" Didn't I tell you all to stay outside until I call you back?"

One of the guards bowed his head at Isolde before throwing a new cloth at me,

" Forgive us, Lady Isolde, but we can't ignore the order. She must leave with us immediately. Someone wants to meet her that we can't dare to ignore."

Isolde's brows tightened together as she asked in disbelief,

" Her?? Who came to meet a useless Omega like her?"

The guard replied nervously, shocking everyone,

" The Alpha King."
