Chapter Seven

Kinsley left work with her bag in tow and headed to the parking lot behind the building. It was later in the morning, almost noon and the day was bright and sunny, warm with a cool breeze. It was a beautiful day yet she felt as if something was brewing, something big. Perhaps it was just her insecurities with her brother, her worry and fear that he wouldn’t wake up. She got into her car and made the drive home, parking in front of her building before entering the building. Rather than use the front entrance and the main elevator she used the freight elevator and stepped into her unit on the top floor.

“Honey I’m home.” she said in a sarcastic sing-song voice as she entered her empty apartment, snorting at what has become an odd habit of hers over the years. She dropped her bag on the table and walked across the large open space to the large sliding door that hid her bathroom from the open floor plan. She
