Chapter Thirteen

“What the heck was that all about?” Lydia wondered with a frown on her face, looking at her friend in concern.

“Nothing good.” Kinsley muttered. “I have to talk with Sawyer, call me when your acquaintance comes in.” She informed as she turned and made her way into the back bedroom, opening the door and frowning softly when she noticed Sawyer was awake and working and not resting like he should have been. “Normally I’d scold you for not listening to Weaver but I have to talk to you about something important.”

“What is it Kins? I can feel the turmoil and anger radiating around you right now.” She scoffed at the remark and sat on the bed facing him, running a hand over her face in annoyance.

“Well, we just had a visit from Jarrod. He was here to ask me down to the station so I could answer some questions about your attack. Apparently, it’s now an active police investigation.”
