Arranged Marriage Ivy with Mr. Gilbert's Son

"You can't abort, Ivy," Leah advised her daughter.

"I don't care. I hate Alistair and the child I am carrying, if I keep this child my life will suffer more and more," Ivy said, she covered her face with both hands as she leaned against the headboard, "My heart hurts so deeply, Mom."

"Don't hate your child," Leah reminded her daughter, her tone was heavy and sad.

Hearing her mother say that, Ivy snorted harshly and then she turned her body to the right with her back to her mother.

"My Daughter, you have lunch first. Here, I buy your favorite food," Leah said softly.

"I don't want to eat. I am not hungry," Ivy snapped without looking at her mother.

"Alright, later if you are hungry get the food on the table," replied Leah, she took a deep breath then sat on the sofa to calm her mind for a moment.

A few moments later, Mr. Lefrancois approached Ivy in her room. He gently stroked Ivy's head as he spoke at length to her, "Ivy, I met your fiancé at home earlier. I am planning to marry you off to Alistair as soon as possible. He is a very kind and responsible man, he told me he has no special relationship with his secretary."

Ivy turned to her father, her eyes sharp and full of hatred. "He is a liar, Dad! I will never marry Alistair!"

"Why don't you want to marry Alistair? He loves you so much, even now you are pregnant with his child," added Pierre confused.

Ivy's tears just broke out, she couldn't contain her anger and disappointment towards Alistair and Scarlet. Tears streamed down Ivy's face as she remembered all the words Scarlett had said to her.

"Pierre, Scarlett called Ivy earlier. She said she was pregnant with Alistair's child, but I didn't believe what she said," Leah explained.

Instantly, Mr. Lefrancois held his chest which felt tight. He didn't expect that the man he thought was commensurate with her daughter also had such a good personality turned out to be a jerk.

Pierre was silent for a moment, he thought he had to quickly make a decision for Ivy before Ivy's pregnancy became known to everyone.

"Ivy, what if I arrange marriage you with Mr. Gilbert's son?" Mr. Lefrancois asked his daughter expectantly, "What I am doing is for the good of you and the fetus in your womb."

"Vincent is a nice and mature man, but I think Alistair is much better than Vincent," Leah interrupted, then she sat down next to Ivy and stroked her daughter's head gently.

"Whatever you say, Leah. I will still match our daughter with Vincent," said Pierre with a sour face.

Ivy was just silent while staring at the hospital room ceiling. She didn't know what to say to her parents, while Pierre planned to confirm the truth with Alistair and Scarlett.

The next day, a man stared at a table that looked empty. He took out his cell phone and called someone.

"Hello, please find me a new secretary. I have fired Scarlett and she will never return to this hotel," Alistair said firmly.

"Alright, Sir."

Alistair stepped into the CEO room after he had called his manager earlier. A few moments later, Mr. Lefrancois violently opened the door.

The door to the room opened wide as a middle-aged man walked in, surprising Alistair. The man approached Alistair and tugged at his collar.

"You really don't deserve to be called a real man. You impregnated my daughter and now you are also impregnating your own secretary!" Mr. Lefrancois rebuked Alistair.

"I am canceling your marriage to Ivy. She is going to marry another man much better than you!" continued Mr. Lefrancois with wide eyes and a flushed face.

Alistair frowned, staring in astonishment at Ivy's father.

"Why did Uncle suddenly cancel our wedding??" Alistair asked confused.

"You don't pretend to be in front of me anymore! Yesterday you told me you weren't related to your secretary, but it turned out you got that woman pregnant! You insolent, Alistair! What kind of man are you?!" rebuked Pierre, he clenched his left fist ready to punch the handsome CEO in the face.

"What do you mean? I don't understand what you said earlier, I didn't impregnate Scarlett and you need to know that until now only Ivy is in my heart," Alistair reassured Mr. Lefrancois.

Alistair tried to explain to Mr. Lefrancois. He said that he didn't have any relationship with Scarlett, but Mr. Lefrancois still didn't believe him. The tall and burly man beat Alistair so many times that he fell to the floor.

Not satisfied with beating Alistair, Mr. Lefrancois crouched in front of him and grabbed Alistair's hair.

"My wife wants you to be the son-in-law of the Lefrancois family, but I won't accept you as part of our family! An asshole like you doesn't deserve to be with my daughter!" Pierre growled with a sharp and cold gaze, "From today on stay away from Ivy!"

Alistair shrunk the corners of his bloody lips when Mr. Lefrancois had left after hitting him.

"I will never calm you down, Scarlett. You have made me mad!" said Alistair furiously.

Alistair took the medicine box and started to treat the wound. His eyes stared at the photo of Ivy hanging on his desk.

"Ivy, maybe we are not meant to be. I will make you regret turning me down," Alistair snorted harshly.

After returning from Alistair's hotel, in a large and luxurious house, a middle-aged man talked to his best friend.

"How is your son? Does he already have a girlfriend?" asked Mr. Lefrancois pleasantly, he drank the green tea that Mr. Gilbert's servant served.

"My son doesn't have a girlfriend because he's always had Ivy in his heart," replied Mr. Gilbert, looking at Mr. Lefrancois with a faint smile.

"Really? Coincidentally, Ivy just broke up with her fiancé. How about we match Vincent with Ivy?" Mr. Lefrancois seemed eager to talk about matchmaking.

"I agree with you, just match them up. I'm happy for your daughter to be the daughter-in-law of the Gilbert family." Maurice looked expectantly at Pierre.

"But first I want to tell you something. Actually... Ivy is pregnant with her fiancé's child. Would you accept Ivy as your daughter-in-law? Her fiancé is an asshole, Ivy was forced to break up with that man," explained Pierre, he took a deep breath.

Maurice put the teacup in his hand on the table. He couldn't believe Ivy was currently pregnant.

"What? Ivy is pregnant with her fiancé?" asked Mr. Gilbert in surprise.

"Right, please help me, Maurice. If she gets pregnant without a husband, my family's reputation will be tarnished," Mr. Lefrancois looked at his friend with a sad look.

"What about my son? Vincent's name will also be tarnished in front of everyone if he marries Ivy. They must think he got your daughter pregnant, but he never did that to Ivy," Maurice shook his head.

"How about we hide Ivy's pregnancy from everyone, except your family?" Mr. Lefrancois suggested.

"Alright, I agree. By the way, how old is Ivy's pregnancy now?" asked Mr. Gilbert.

"I don't know. I will tell you after I ask Ivy," Mr. Lefrancois replied dryly.

Mr. Gilbert nodded his head with a faint smile. On the one hand he always hoped that one day Ivy would become his daughter-in-law, but on the other hand there was a hint of disappointment tucked away in his heart towards Mr. Lefrancois' daughter.

A well-known and respected woman was pregnant out of wedlock, Mr. Gilbert never thought that Ivy would give her chastity to her fiancé so easily.

"Alright, I'm good-bye. I want to accompany Ivy at the hospital," Pierre rose from his seat.

"What happened to your daughter? Is she sick or is she going to have her pregnancy checked by a gynecologist?" asked Mr. Gilbert frowning.

"She is sick, yesterday she fainted at the office because of exhaustion and stress," Mr. Lefrancois sighed harshly.

"Poor her, already pregnant, breaking up with her fiancé, even now sick from exhaustion and stress. Can Vincent and I visit Ivy at the hospital?" Mr. Gilbert asked again expectantly.

"Of course you can," Ivy's father chuckled.

"Alright, this afternoon we will visit your daughter," replied Mr. Gilbert who was then nodded by Mr. Lefrancois.

"When are we going to get them married?" Maurice brought his face closer to his friend who was standing in front of him.

"How about next month? Do you think it's too soon or not?" asked Mr. Lefrancois.

"No, Pierre. They'd better get married as soon as possible, lest Ivy's stomach looks bloated when they get married next month."

At the hospital, Ivy whined at her mother, she didn't want to stay there for long because she was bored.

"Mom, I want to go home. I am bored here, I also can't stand the smell of medicine and I don't like hospital food," Ivy sulked.

Leah forbade Ivy to go home and ordered her child to be examined by a gynecologist because Ivy's face was still pale, her body was weak, and this morning she had been vomiting.

"You can't go home before your condition improves. You must check your pregnancy with the obstetrician," her mother ordered.

"Very well," said Ivy, compelled to comply with Mrs. Xia's wishes.

With a little energy, Ivy was helped by a nurse to move into a wheelchair. When they arrived at the obstetrician's room, the doctor immediately examined Ivy.

The doctor smiled faintly as he examined Ivy's apprehensive condition.

"Miss Ivy's pregnancy is now five weeks. Please manage your food, don't be too tired, stressed, and late to eat," said the handsome and friendly doctor.

After the examination, Ivy and her mother sat down in front of the doctor.

"Here, I am giving you a prescription for boosting content and vitamins. I suggest that Miss Ivy be hospitalized for a few more days because her body is too weak to go home," explained the doctor.

A few moments later, Ivy and Leah went to the pharmacy, took the medicine there and then returned to the room. She saw her mother put the medicine packet on the table, Ivy snorted in annoyance and threw it in the trash.

Leah was surprised by Ivy's different behavior than usual, she stepped into the trash and took out a green plastic bag containing Ivy's medicine and vitamins.

Leah turned to Ivy, looking at her daughter in surprise, "Why did you throw this medicine away, Ivy??

"Because I don't want to take pregnancy-boosting drugs, Mom," Ivy replied, squeezing her stomach tightly.

Leah shook her head, she didn't know what else to do with her daughter. Then she approached Ivy and calmed her down until her daughter was quiet and not nagging anymore.

"You must take the medicine and vitamins the doctor gave you, My Daughter. I ask you not to torture yourself and the fetus in your womb just because you are upset and angry with Alistair," Leah rubbed Ivy's back gently, Ivy took a deep breath and then lay down on the bed.

Not long after, Pierre burst into the room and went straight to Ivy. The excitement on Mr. Lefrancois' face was clear.

"Ivy, Dad have good news for you. Dad and Mr. Gilbert will marry you off to Vincent, I am sure he will be a good husband and father to you and your child." Pierre smiled brightly, while Leah and Ivy stared blankly at Mr. Lefrancois.

"Enough, Dad!" I don't want to marry that man and I am going to abort this child!" shouted Ivy, hitting her stomach.

"Pierre! Why did you take a decision without talking to me first?!" Leah asked.

Mr. Lefrancois was silent, he was not in the mood to argue with his wife. He sat on the edge of the bed persuading Ivy to accept Vincent as her husband.

"My Daughter, I think only Vincent is worthy to be with you. He also loves you and is certainly much better than Alistair. Don't reject him, alright?"

"Don't force me to follow your wish! From now on, stop controlling my life! All men are the same! They are not as good as you think!" cried Ivy.

"Pierre, you should marry Ivy to Alistair. I don't want Vincent to be the son-in-law of the Lefrancois family," Leah said firmly.

"Mom and Dad are the same, never side with me!" Ivy blurted out, disappointed that her parents had given her no choice.

They kept arguing until Ivy's weak physical condition made her slowly lose consciousness. Mr. Lefrancois and his wife panicked, they asked the doctor to immediately help Ivy.

"Sir, Ma'am, Miss Ivy must not be stressed. She needs rest, now let her calm down and don't make her think about unimportant things," said the doctor, looking alternately at Pierre and Leah.

Ivy's parents just kept silent listening to the doctor's words.

"Miss Ivy's pregnancy is very vulnerable, she could miscarry if her condition still doesn't improve for the next few days," explained the doctor.
