Scarlett's Lie

Alistair immediately left without caring about the look on Scarlett's face that turned sinister. Scarlett looked at him from afar with sharp eyes.

"You now dare to throw me out of your life and threaten me, but see soon you won't be able to maintain your relationship with Ivy," Scarlett monologued.

After that, Scarlett took her cellphone on the table, then opened her social media page and tried to find Ivy's personal data through Alistair's social media page. This time she was determined to keep Ivy from returning to Alistair's arms.

"Ivy, you are a nuisance to my relationship with Alistair," Scarlett muttered, her heart filled with hatred and envy for Ivy.

The woman focused her eyes on the cellphone screen, her index finger danced agilely opening the social media page of the CEO of Turqoise hotel and resort. A moment later, Scarlett managed to find Ivy's cell phone number on Alistair's social media.

She snapped her fingers and smiled slyly, suddenly a brilliant idea appeared in her mind that would make Ivy and Alistair's relationship even more strained. Scarlett confidently pressed the number pad on her phone screen, then she connected to Ivy.

"Hello, Miss Ivy. Sorry for interrupting your time, I wanted to talk to you about something. It's important," Scarlett said in a voice that sounded like she was crying.

While the person who answered the phone was silent, listening to what the woman said to her.

"Miss ... I beg you to stay away from Mr. Alistair ..." Scarlett whined like a child.

"I know you love Mr. Alistair very much, but I love him too and I . . . I am pregnant with his child," Scarlett burst into tears to reassure Ivy that she really was pregnant, she was so good at acting.

In Ivy's room, Leah's facial expression suddenly turned pale, her heart skipped a beat after hearing the confession of a woman she didn't know. She didn't know that it was Scarlett calling Ivy.

"Is it true that Alistair has impregnated another woman besides my daughter?" Leah muttered in disbelief. Then she looked at Ivy who was still unconscious from her stupor, she could only take a deep breath while hoping that what she had heard was not true at all.

"Miss, why are you silent? Please answer me," said Scarlett who couldn't wait for Ivy's answer.

Leah ended the call with Scarlett, she didn't want to hear anything more from Scarlett's mouth. Leah grew sadder at the thought of Ivy's fate in marriage to a man like Alistair. She did not expect that her future son-in-law who was once worshiped like a god, turned out to be an asshole who had impregnated two women at once.

Alistair had just arrived at Mr. Lefrancois' residence, then he parked his car in front of Ivy's house. He rushed out of his red mpv and hastily pressed the bell button mounted behind the black fence.

Before long, the Lefrancois family's housekeeper appeared in the courtyard and opened the door for Alistair.

"Good morning, Sir," The housekeeper greeted with a friendly smile.

"Good morning, I want to meet Mr. Lefrancois," Alistair replied flatly.

"Please come in, Sir. Mr. Lefrancois is waiting for you in the living room," She said.

"Thank you," Alistair burst into Ivy's yard, stepped on both feet quickly, and found Ivy's father in the living room.

Pierre sat back on the long gray sofa, a moment later Alistair came up to him and greeted Ivy's father bowing in front of him.

"Good afternoon, Uncle," Alistair said friendly and very polite.

"Ali ... come here, sit next to me," said Pierre.

"Alright, Uncle," said Alistair, he sat beside Weiming with a feeling of uncertainty.

"Ali, you and Ivy need to get married as soon as possible. Don't delay because now Ivy is pregnant with your child," explained Mr. Lefrancois making Alistair gasped and widened his eyes.

"W--what?? Ivy is pregnant with my child??" asked Alistair in disbelief.

Weiming nodded slowly, "That's right, Son. She is pregnant with your child, we will still marry you off but on one condition."

Alistair frowned, he didn't understand why Pierre suddenly made a condition for him just to marry Ivy?

"What conditions?" Alistair asked confused.

"The condition is, break off your relationship with your secretary first before you marry my daughter," Pierre ordered.

"What does this mean? I don't understand what Uncle said earlier, what relationship?"

"Don't pretend you don't know, yesterday when Ivy and Ruby went to the beach, Ivy accidentally saw you hugging a woman she knew. Isn't she your secretary??" Mr. Lefrancois glared at Alistair

"Oh my! I guess I was right, Ivy saw us alone on the beach!" Alistair exclaimed.

"How dare you cheat behind Ivy's back, Ali! If Ivy wasn't pregnant with your child, we wouldn't have married you off, we'd better match our daughter with Mr. Gilbert's son!" rebuked Mr. Lefrancois, he stared coldly at Alistair.

"I beg you not to match Ivy with another man, I love your daughter very much," Alistair pleaded in front of Mr. Lefrancois, then he quickly knelt down while lowering his head.

"Stay away from that woman and fire her from your company, understand?!"

"I—I understand."

"After you fire your secretary, you can meet my daughter at the hospital," said Pierre.

After meeting Mr. Lefrancois at his house, Alistair returned to the hotel and ordered Scarlett into the CEO room. Scarlett thought she was called there because Alistair wanted to tell her his true feelings, she smiled brightly as she walked into Alistair's room.

"Scarlett," Alistair said with a sharp and cold look at his secretary, he sat back in his oversized chair while Scarlett stood opposite Alistair.

"Yes, Sir. Do you need anything or do you want to make a drink?" asked Scarlett, smiling slightly at Alistair.

"From today you don't have to work at the hotel anymore, tomorrow morning Erick will transfer your salary," Alistair affirmed, his words immediately took Scarlett by surprise.

"You fired me?" asked Scarlett in disbelief.

"Right, I fired you," Alistair replied.

"Why did you suddenly fire me? Did I do something to the detriment of the company or did my performance during the six years of working at the hotel have been unsatisfactory?" Scarlett wondered why Alistair would do that to her.

"You don't need to know why I fired you all of a sudden. Quick, get out of my room, Miss Scarlett," said Alistair, pointing at the door.

"I don't accept being treated like this by you!" cried Scarlett, she widened her eyes and put on a scary face.

"It's up to you whether you want to accept it or not, obviously I am fed up with you!" Alistair rebuked staring at the woman who had always been sweet to him, but it turned out that Scarlett was not as nice and sweet as Alistair thought.

So angry and irritated, Scarlett immediately walked out of the CEO's room without saying a word or two to Alistair. She slammed the door so hard that Alistair grew even more angry with Scarlett. Brugg!!

Outside Alistair's room, Scarlett tried to control her anger and disappointment with Alistair. She sat herself down on the soft chair, took a deep breath, and calmed her mind for a moment.

"I don't understand why Alistair suddenly fired me? Did he do it to maintain his relationship with Ivy??" Scarlett's monologued, her tears slowly flowed down Scarlett's face.

"I love you, Ali. Why did you throw me out of your life??" continued Scarlett as she put her face on the table.

A beautiful woman lying on the bed slowly started to open her eyelids. When she woke up, she saw no one there. Then, she looked here and there looking for her father and mother.

"Mom ... Dad ... where are you? I am thirsty ..." Ivy whispered.

Ivy tried to sit back against the headboard even though her head was still a little dizzy. A few moments later, Leah came into Ivy's room with a packet of food and drink that she had bought at the hospital cafe.

When her mother was about to approach Ivy, suddenly Ivy's cell phone rang. Leah rushed to put the package on the small table next to the patient's bed, then took the cell phone.

"Mom, please give me the phone," Ivy asked quietly.

Leah approached her daughter and handed the black cell phone to Ivy.

"Who called you, Ivy?" asked Wenling suspiciously.

"I don't know, Mom," answered Ivy shaking her head, her eyes focused on the screen, "The number is unknown."

"Let me answer your phone," Leah quickly took the phone from Ivy's hand, but she held it and Ivy accidentally pressed the green button on her phone.

"Hello, Ma'am. I beg of you ... to stay away from Alistair," The woman spoke while sobbing.

Ivy's face immediately turned pale when she heard Scarlett's voice on the phone, "Why did you call me?"

"Please stay away from my lover, I love him very much," replied Scarlett ignoring Ivy's question.

"I only want to marry Alistair, not anyone else. Did you know that I am pregnant with his child? If you two get married, what will happen to my child??" Scarlett's words suddenly made Ivy gasp, Ivy squeezed her stomach with her left hand hoping the fetus she was carrying would abort.

"What are you doing?? What happened to you? Why is your face pale??" Leah asked frantically, she grabbed her daughter's hand and took Ivy's phone.

"I don't want to meet Alistair again. He is not a man worthy of being my husband." Ivy looked sadly at her mother, her eyes welling with tears.

"Who was the woman who called you earlier? Was she Alistair's secretary or some other woman he got pregnant with?!" Leah snorted in annoyance.

"She is Scarlett, Alistair's secretary," Ivy whispered, "I don't want to have Ali's child ... I will abort it."

"Don't say that, Ivy. You have to keep your baby because your child is my grandchild and your own flesh and blood," said Leah who was still angry at Scarlett.

"That woman has made you sad, I have to do something," Leah continued.

"What are you going to do with Scarlett?" Ivy asked, holding her mother's hand.

"I am going to tell Scarlett to stay away from your fiancé," Leah said firmly.

"No need," stopped Ivy, "Whatever you guys are going to do to Scarlett won't change my decision."
