Sheryl’s P.O.V.

My only goal while staying in school all the time was to ignore a specific group of people, not that I am scared of them. It's just, I am sick of being injured almost every day.

I am scared of ghosts. Of course, I am.

I am a normal human being, and a normal human is meant to afraid of ghosts.

But there are some people in the world who are scarier than ghosts.

Just like the gang of bullies in our school who are adamant to make my life miserable every second that I spend in the school.

I breathed out aloud in relief after successfully getting downstairs, but it was so short-lived that I doubted it occurred as soon as I turned at the junction of the corridor.

“Aaahhh.” I screamed in panic when someone, I know who, tripped me. I was vigilant but yet not vigilant enough to save myself.

Again.

I screamed in pain once again when my knees and palms hit the floor and my chin almost touched it.

It was bad. The intensity of the pain was enough to tell me that it was bad. For a second, I couldn’t even breath.

“Watch out, Sheryl. Why I always found kissing the floor?” Jacob Hoffman, one of those bullies, taunted teasingly.

I couldn’t retaliate because it would worsen the situation for me.

One thing that I learned from all these bullies is that they don’t like people talking back to them.

More you talk back, more they find a way to torment you.

“Are you cursing us, Sheryl?” John Fisher, another bully, asked me in the same taunting tone, but I was in so much pain to even register what they were saying.

For a good few seconds, I stayed in the same position. I slowly sat up when I regained my breath again. I hissed in pain, tears filling my eyes immediately when I tried to fold my knees.

I only had one question in my mind.

Why me?

I wasn’t the only scholarship student here, neither did I the only nerd.

So, why me?

I slowly opened my eyes and looked at them.

The group of the most handsome boys of the school was standing in different posture in front of me. All of them were handsome to the extent where they could take over any famous model’s career at any time.

I didn’t know what their parents fed them, but all of them had a masculine body with a godly handsome face, a killing height of over six feet.

But I couldn’t admire their handsomeness because all I wanted right now was to curse them from the bottom of my heart.

Poor me…

I am the only subject of bullying for them when the rest of the girls in school got their admiration and care.

They were like queen bee with so many slave bees flying around them.

“What’s going on here?” I thanked God when I heard my homeroom teacher, Mrs. Jennifer Wendall’s voice.

This school was an elite school and the good thing was that most of the teachers were also from elite families.

So, they don’t show any fear or favouritism towards any student studying here.

That’s why her arrival made me breathe out in relief.

“Sheryl…. What happened?” I looked at her, but my vision was blurred because of tears.

“Nothing happened, Mrs. Wendall. I just tripped on my feet.” I gave her the perfect excuse that I always gave to my teachers whenever they found me in this state.

“Let me see your knees.” She asked while grabbing my arm and helped me stand up. I screamed in pain again, tightened my grip on her hand, almost falling on my knees again.

Once again, I heard a very faint sound like a growl but didn’t pay attention to that. It was common among us.

You see, we are not completely human.

We are werewolves, but the worst part for me was that my wolf was dormant.

We received our wolves at the age of sixteen, but mine didn’t mind showing up.

“It’s bad. You have a competition next week.” Mrs. Wendall mumbled. I slowly got up with her help and breathed out aloud.

“Luther, help her to the infirmary,” she ordered another student sternly.

“I have math class next, Ms. Wendall. Mr. Turner will not let me go inside the class if I go late,” He immediately protested, and I saw her glaring at him.

“I will tell him. Now go,” she ushered him with a stern gaze.

“No need, Ms. Wendall. I guess I can walk on my own.” I said to her politely, saving Luther because we all know Mr. Will Turner is the worst teacher in the school.

“Are you sure?” she asked me, concern written all over her face.

“She tripped on her own feet, Ms. Wendall. You heard her.” Luther protested, and I tightened my grip on Mrs. Wendall’s hand when she was about to say something more to him.

“It’s okay, Ms. Wendall. I think I can manage on my own. I just need a minute.” I comforted her with a faint smile, but I could see that she was clearly angry and disappointed.

She looked back at the boys angrily. I had my back towards them, and I didn’t have any intention to look at their faces to know their expressions.

“They have no rights to treat you like this, Sheryl. You are also a part of this pack just like them,” she grumbled while taking me towards the infirmary. She had a cold personality. Yet she never leaves any student alone if he needs help.

“Thanks for standing up for me from time to time, Mrs. Wendall, but you also know very well that it won’t do anything good for me.” I replied nonchalantly, wincing in pain whenever I took a step.

“You can’t stay silent and suffer like this always, Sheryl. I know th.. that you don’t have a strong background like they have, but it doesn’t give them any right to treat you like this.” She replied to me in a stern tone.

“But things are always like this in our society, right? Fear the strong and bully the weak. In my case, I fall in the latter.” I once again replied nonchalantly, but the pain in my chest increased.

It’s not easy or funny to berate yourself when you have high self-esteem.

I was glad that she didn’t utter a word again. This silence was comforting. My whole concentration was on walking now.

After my mother died during a rogue attack when I was just five, my father left me with my maternal grandparents.

When I turned seven, I learned that he took a chosen mate from his pack, and now he had another family in which I had no place.

After my grandmother’s death, all I had was my grandfather as my only family. As a regular gamma she-wolf, I had no status in the pack, and that’s why they all treat me like trash.

“Not again, Sheryl,” Rachel Hamster, the nurse, exclaimed in shock when she saw me.

“I am leaving you in your care, Rachel. Don’t let anyone come near her here. If anyone dares to disobey, you are free to dial Alpha’s number.” Mrs. Wendall instructed her sternly and looked at me.

“I am okay, Mrs. Fisher. I can heal like a normal wolf, and you know that.” I assured her once again. She didn’t smile but looked at me sympathetically before leaving me with Rachel.

“This is the fifth time in less than two weeks, Sheryl. You need to be careful if you don’t want to lose your knees.” Rachel said to me worriedly.

“I know, Rachel. I will be careful from now on.” I replied to her while looking out of the window with a blank gaze.

After my grandmother died, my grandfather tried to persuade my father to take me back to his family. He was sick and knew very well how the others in the pack treated me.

But my father crushed all my hopes of having my father with me again when my stepmother refused to take me in. They had two children on their own now, and she didn't want to take care of her stepdaughter, not when I didn't have any source of income to provide for them.

It’s not like I needed their financial support, but their words stung worse than a poisonous scorpion’s sting.

“It’s all done. If you want to go back home, you can, Sheryl. Ms. Wendall just called and told me that she got permission for you.” Rachel told me gently.

“Thanks, Rachel, but I want to lie down for a bit,” I requested, and she nodded in understanding. She helped me lie down and tucked me inside the sheet.

“Rest for a while, Sheryl.” She instructed me while gathering her equipment. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

I don’t want my grandfather to see me wounded once again, and that’s why I didn’t want to go home this early.

“Oh, you know Sylvester’s twin brother, Gabriel Knight, is coming back?” Rachel asked me, and my whole body trembled hard.

Gabriel Knight.

He is coming back?

Sheryl’s P.O.V. (Continued)He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, pissing me off more.“It’s too long. Either we go with her to that university or she has to stay.” Sylvester mumbled, and I snapped my head in his direction, widening my eyes in shock.“I am not dropping my dream, Sylvester. You are future alphas, I got it. You need your Luna to take over the pack; I got that too, but I am not going to sacrifice my dreams for that. I accepted being the future Luna, and I can take over that position after seven years, or you can reject me.”I trembled hard in fear when both Sylvester and Gabriel growled aloud. I was still in Sylvester’s embrace, and that intense vibration of his chest shook my whole body. The next second, all the boys were standing beside us, taking a defensive side, but my eyes were glued to both Sylvester and Gabriel, fear evident in them.My breath ragged, but I was frozen in my place. Sheryl’s P.O.V.“Are you sure that you will be okay with all those boys?” Reena asked me worriedly, glancing inside the room where I was supposed to stay with the boys.“What can we do in this matter, Reena? I don’t want to be strangled in my dreams. Moreover, staying with me can put your lives in danger. They will not target future alphas, but us.” I paused and moved my finger between us.“We are just ordinary wolves.” I finished and she rolled her eyes.“You are the future Luna, Sheryl. You are not just an ordinary wolf.” She emphasized the title dramatically.“Yes, the future Luna, Reena. If I die, they can get the second chance. I don’t have a powerful family background, and don’t forget, for them I am the biggest threat. I don’t know in what way, but yes, I am.” I was serious in my tone.Reena was about to say something when she shut her mouth. I sighed and felt a headache coming towards me.She ran away the next second, leaving me behind with the person standing behind me.“You

Sylvester’s P.O.V.“She is perfectly fine, Sylvester. She told us earlier that she is immune to poison, and look at her posture! I am sure that she is going for bullseye.” Calvin comforted me anxiously, but my eyes were glued on Sheryl, who was now holding the bow straight in the middle of the ground.Everyone was shouting and cheering all around the stadium, but it seemed that she was deaf to all those voices.Yet I was scared. Only a few hours here, and she was first forced to learn about her mate bond when she must not, and then she was attacked with a deadly poison. The warrior who went to get those darts, still fell sick when he had a mask on his face. She released the arrow, and for a fraction of a second, I held my breath.“Bullseye!” Calvin and Raymond exclaimed excitedly, almost yelling in excitement.I released the breath and smiled tightly. This was her third shot in a row, and she had already gotten the maximum point by now.“Did you see that?” Calvin yelled while grabbing

Sylvester’s P.O.V. (Continued)“But you two always do this.” She complained, and my heart skipped a beat.“You… you know?” Gabriel asked her, sounding shocked. I glanced at him and found him looking at me with the same look."Not only she knows, but she can also mind-link us just like us." Gabriel remarked through other mind-link.“What’s wrong? You two look like you have seen a ghost.” Calvin asked me worriedly.“Night Shade Pack and the Moon Pond pack…. Do we have any information on them available right now?” I asked him, ignoring his question.“Hey, Prince Caspian is going near her.” Morton warned all of us through mind-link.“I also got a bad vibe from him,” Raymond grumbled worriedly. and we all concentrated on the three leaders.I don’t know if it was coincidental or if they intentionally placed Sheryl between them.“We don’t have any direct beef with them, but it seems that we have some business issues with them,” Calvin told me through mind-link.“Be careful, Sheryl. Sylvester’s P.O.V.“Are you ready, guys?” Simon asked us worriedly while looking at the players marching on the track, holding the flag of their school and their pack. We were also in the line, waiting for our turn.“We are, coach.” We all replied to him in unison.Sheryl was now standing between me and Gabriel, holding the pack flag in her hands.Earlier, Gabriel was assigned to march with the pack flag, but after the king pulled that stunt in the throne room, everyone decided to let Sheryl hold that pack flag as the future Luna and also the captain of the archery team. This could be counted as a slap on the faces of those who want to see her down. She was a bit tense, and no one could blame her for that. Even though she had been presenting her team for the past two years, she never tried to be in the limelight. But her position right now not only put her in the limelight but also a hot topic of gossip. She is the first she-wolf in our history who is exposed to her mate bond three da

I blinked and gulped hard when the movements of his eyes made me feel something churning in my lower belly again.“Don’t look at me like this, my love. Ten months and 27 days…. Only I know how difficult it was to keep myself away from you when all I wanted to do was to kiss you hard…. To mark you, make you mine, and f**k you hard.” He spoke to me in a husky and s*xy voice, lowering it a bit, making me feel throaty.Enough for me to hold my breath. Just like Sylvester, I also wanted you to be our mate, but these months were like pure torture, especially when you were with me.” He continued in the same tone, his breathing ragged and the heat of his breath fanning my face, making me feel hot too.My heart stopped beating for a few seconds and then started racing as if an army of ghosts was chasing it inside my chest.I almost moaned in pleasure when he stroked the corner of my lips with
