His tone emanated a wave of fear that coursed through her like shivers, driving a gasp out of her. She reflexively whipped around, and the puppy slipped off her hold. She fixed Anthony with an anxious stare as she wondered where he came from. She didn’t wonder for long before her eyes met the ajar door on the left side of her room.

That door had been there. At times, she watched the door and wondered what stood behind the door. Now she sucked in the familiar fragrance wafting from the room and diffusing her bedroom.
