Chapter Fifteen

“Hey, sweetie, wake up.”

The voice echoed distantly, gradually getting closer and clearer. Kayla's droopy eyelids flew open but pressed shut as the intense sunlight breaking through the bow windows stung her eyes. Whose hand was that tapping on her back? A frown of discomfort laced her face as she whimpered. Was her bed at Anthony’s house this strong and woody that it caused her head to ache?

She perked up, reality dawning on her as she examined her surrounding. She was meant to be at Anthony's house, wasn't she? Turning to glance at June, who stood beside her to wonder how she came in, yesterday's memory waltzed in at full blast. The post-it, wait… she slept in! Shock took over her as she rushed into her bedroom. Hell no, no! Anthony wouldn't only kill her, she'd broken his rules too, and that might mean her freedom being laid aside.
