I could’ve screamed back. They threw every ugly truth at her. Told her how she’d humiliated me. How she’d tampered with my presentation just to get back at me for something I never meant to take. How Asher saw her these past years but stayed silent.

She was the one who dug this pit herself. He stayed silent but he wasn't blind. She kept on crossing the boundaries and hurting people he cared about while Asher made up excuses to cover her up. Maybe the project was his breaking point and he grew tired.

But I didn’t, I chose not to because for the first time, I saw her pain and I understood it. I felt a bit of sympathy for her and wanted her just to burst out. Maybe it would help her feel better.
