Storm
I stood there in front of the dorm building and watched as Felix and Winter drove off in the hire car. Once the car was out of sight, I made my way back upstairs to the dorm room which would now be my home for the next four years. When I got back up to my room, I was standing at the door when I realised that I had left my key on my bed with the information pack the administration lady had given me earlier.
With tears still streaming silently down my cheeks, I knocked on the door and a moment later Lilly opened the door again, smiling at me. “Sorry, I forgot my key,” I explained to her as I stepped inside the dorm room, wiping the tears from my face.
“That’s okay,” she said quietly as she smiled at me.
I quietly followed Lilly into the room that I would be sleeping in. When I got in the room, I noticed that there were two other blonde girls sitting on Lilly’s bed, and just like Lilly they were also werewolves. Seeing my confusion, Lilly said, “Hi Lena, sorry to appear as though we are ambushing you because, we aren’t, honestly we aren’t. I just thought you guys should all meet. These are my two sisters, Leah and Julie.”
“Sisters? You mean like Sorority sisters?” I asked confused.
The girl, Leah, I think her name was, laughed and said, “No not sorority sisters, we are biological sisters, triplets actually.”
The girls were not identical, and the only thing that was the same about them appearance wise was their shade of blonde hair, Julie and Leah had green eyes, whereas Lillie’s eyes were a beautiful deep shade of blue.
“Oh, okay then, well, hi, I am Lena, and it is nice to meet you all,” I replied. Then out of mere curiosity, I asked, “Where did the two of you come from? And how did you happen to get in here so fast? I didn’t think I was even gone that long.”
Seeing my apparent confusion, the three girls laughed, then Leah stood up and said, “Follow me.”
I followed the girls out of the bedroom and back into the lounge area, and Leah pointed out a room which was on the other side of the lounge room. “That is mine and Julie’s room right in there, it is set up exactly the same way as yours and Lilly’s.” Then pointing to a doorway just off the left side of the kitchen area, she said, “… and in there is the bathroom and opposite is the toilet, and the door to the right side of the kitchen over there, right beside mine and Julie’s room is the laundry, which has a front loader washer and a dryer in it.”
“Thank you for pointing that out for me, it’s a nice set up they have provided us with,” I told Leah as I gave her a small smile. Then I walked back into the bedroom I would be sharing with Lilly to begin unpacking.
“Can you please tell me if the closets on this side of the room are for my use? And if so, are they empty?” I asked Lilly.
“Yes, those are yours, and they are all empty,” Lilly replied.
I walked over to my bed and had just opened one of my duffel bags when Leah asked, “Do you need any help unpacking?”
“No thank you, I’ve got it. But thank you for the offer,” I replied.
“Well, do you mind if we stay in here and talk to you while you unpack?” Lilly asked.
“Knock yourself out,” I replied.
“So, are we going to bother to address the elephant in the room?” Julie asked, looking over at her sisters.
“Don’t you mean the wolf in the room,” I replied, trying to lighten the mood. My comment managed to make Lilly laugh out loud.
“Right,” Julie replied, not sounding impressed with my joke, “So, you smell like a rogue,” Julie stated looking at me.
“You’re right, I am a rogue, but I mean no harm to any of you girls, or to anybody else for that matter. I am just here to do my studies and earn my degree the same as everybody else here, and then I will leave and you will never see me again,” I replied, watching the three of them closely to gauge their reaction.
The three girls looked between each other as though they were trying to decide if I really was safe or not. I could appreciate their uncertainty over this awkward situation that we had suddenly found ourselves in. But apart from reassuring them that I meant them no harm, there wasn’t much else I could do. They would either accept what I was saying, or they wouldn’t.
“Lilly said that you came here with members of your family. I am guessing they are also rogues. So, what are they doing while you are here at school? Are they at university too? Or are they working in town…?” Julie asked.
“Neither!” I stated angrily, effectively cutting her off, “They are not even staying in Ireland. As soon as they left the campus, they went back to the airport to get on the Jet and leave the country!” I stated, my irritation at the presumptions being made coming through loud and clear.
“Wait, you’re rogues, and you have your own jet, how much money do you guys have?” Leah asked looking at me shocked.
“That’s rude! You know what? I am done talking about this topic. I am sorry, but I am done discussing my family and my family’s financial situation with you. I apologise if I sound rude because I am not trying to be. In my defence, I have only just met you people and there are certain topics that society states are off limits to people you don’t know that well. It is common courtesy that people accept boundaries. And from here on out the three of you can either accept that I mean you no harm or not, either way it is up to you, at the end of the day, it is that simple,” I replied.
The girls looked at me in shock at my brief outburst. Feeling a little guilty, I looked away from them as I began unpacking my suitcases in silence and putting my clothes and personal items away in the closets and draw space on my side of the bedroom. After a while, the girls who were still watching me unpack began making comments and asking questions regarding my clothing and shoes and accessories. The tension soon faded into the background, and it wasn’t long before we were joking and laughing just like normal girls.
I set my laptops and other electronics and stationery items up on my designated student study desk to prepare for when my classes would begin. The study desk was located against the wall at the end of my bed. Adjacent to it was Lilly’s desk, which she had already set up with her belongings. In between the two study desks, there was a bookshelf. Lilly had moved her items so we could have two shelves each.
The most precious items that I had brought with me, such as my mother’s jewellery, I left hidden in one of my duffel bags.
Once I had packed everything away out of my bags, I stored my bags in a closet. Once I had finished making my bed, I walked around and sat on it and waited until I was alone in the room. When the girls exited the room to make themselves lunch, I grabbed my cash out of my backpack. Leaving one thousand dollars in my backpack, I opened the closet with my bags in it, and hid the rest of the money in the bag with my mother’s jewellery. After I had hidden the money, I left the room and joined the girls in the kitchen to help them prepare lunch. My new life had begun. Now, it was time for me to settle into the life of a university student.
Storm I thought that it was crazy that I had been here in Ireland for a week already, but I had to admit, I had found that I had seemed to be finding my feet alright. Since I had been here, I had taken to working out extensively in the university’s gym at all hours of the day and night and running for hours along assorted paths of an evening and between classes. It hadn’t taken me long to settle into my classes and honestly; I was finding university life extremely enjoyable. Winter and I had taken to calling each other every Tuesday and Friday night. This was so we could keep in touch easier. I enjoyed talking to her about what her and Felix had both been doing throughout the week and filling her in on my week. It was great that we were able to let each other know we were okay. I found I had peace of mind knowing she was okay, and I am sure she felt the same way. The girls and I had been spending a lot of time together outside of classes, and it surpr
Leah My sisters and I had fallen into a comfortable friendship with Lena since she had arrived at the university campus. Yes, she was a rogue, but she didn’t behave in the usual manner of any rogue I had ever met. Not that I had met many. In all honesty, I had never met a rogue before. But I had been told stories about rogues from my dad and my Uncle Sean and my Aunt Siobhan. I had heard about how they were all merciless and blood thirsty killers. But hearing those things about rogues, and seeing Lena in the flesh, had left me torn on my opinion of rogues. How many rogues had been perceived to be dangerous when they weren’t actually dangerous at all? How many good people just like Lena, had been brutally killed simply for being rogues? Every day I rang my dad and kept him apprised of the situation regarding Lena. I clarified that he had nothing to worry about. I told him that Lena was harmless, and that she was just a student who wanted to complete her school
Lilly We had finished our classes for the day, and we were making our way to the path we had chosen to run along of an evening. Ever since Lena had moved into the dorm with us, she had been working out like she was possessed. A week ago, she had announced to us at breakfast that she was going to get us girls into the routine of running and exercising every day to build up our fitness levels. I had to say, I enjoyed the time we spent exercising with Lena. Lena pushed us to challenge ourselves, and it felt good to know what I could do. The thing I liked most when it came to exercising with Lena was that I had learned I was much stronger than I had first thought I was. The first few times we had exercised with her, my sisters and I had felt as though we were going to die the next day. But we still looked forward to our afternoon exercise sessions. What surprised me was how much energy Lena had. She ran three times a day and worked out in the gym morning and nigh
Storm The morning of my eighteenth birthday had arrived! I was sitting in the lounge room on the big three-seater lounge chair listening to Leah and Julie have a playful argument regarding a guy that Julie was convinced Leah had a thing for. I knew that she didn’t have romantic feelings for anybody, and that all this teasing was just in good fun. By now these crazy arguments between the girls over random nothings had become the norm for me since I had been living here with them. It was almost like they got off on annoying the crap out of each other. In an attempt to win the argument, Julie had recruited Lilly onto her side. The plan had obviously been for Lilly to help Julie to gang up on Leah. Not wanting to be outdone by them, Leah was now trying to recruit me onto her side. But now that they had seen what Leah was trying to do, Lilly and Julie had decided they were not going to let that happen! So, they were trying to get me to side with them as well.
Storm At the mere mention of his name, I could sense my heart rate pick up as my anxiety increased, and I was sure that I was going to have a panic attack. I had been socialising and living with the offspring of a highly feared Alpha, and I had had no idea of the problems I was creating for myself, as I had built friendships with them. I wasn’t surprised that I hadn’t known they were from an Alpha family though; I mean, I had obviously never seen the girls in their wolf forms. But to know I had been living with the daughters of the worlds most renowned rogue killer, I was now feeling more terrified than I had felt in a while. I had come here to get away from my father and brother who terrified me, and now I was having to deal with a highly feared rogue killer. This wasn’t going to end well! I think it was safe to say that my luck had officially run out! The problem was, the girls being from an Alpha family, meant that now that their father had taken an intere
Storm A mutual sadness was now hanging over the four of us as we sat around the table, each of us locked in our memories and pain. Suddenly Leah stood up and said, “Okay, enough of this sadness, today is supposed to be a good day, a happy day, it is Lena’s special day, so let’s spend today having a good time celebrating Lena’s birthday, and we will leave worrying about going home as a problem for tomorrow.” “Girls, I have one quick question, do you mind if I ask, where is home for you guys?” I asked. “Carraroe, it is an hour’s drive from here,” Leah said. “So, Lena, how old are you today?” Lilly asked. “Eighteen,” I replied. “Ooh you are old enough to find your mate now,” Lilly squealed in excitement. Her response had me thinking about Josh. But not wanting the memory of him to ruin my new life, I pushed all thoughts of him out of my mind. “How old are you girls?” I asked. “Nineteen,” Julie replied. “And, have a
Storm We made our way into our bedrooms and got ready to go out for my birthday celebration. I was wearing a pair of jeans and a hoodie with my favourite pair of combat boots. I had dressed for warmth and comfort because I had no idea what the girls were planning to do to celebrate my birthday. I slipped five hundred dollars into the cover of my phone case and pulled my hair back into a high ponytail. I made my way out to the lounge room and waited for the girls to finish getting ready. When everyone was ready, we left the dorm room making our way downstairs and getting into Julie’s car, which was a dark grey Porsche Cayenne. Driving into Galway we went to Taylors Hill Pitch & Putt Club. The girls had decided to play a round of mini-golf, and I must admit, I never knew mini-golf could be so much fun. I had always thought mini golf was for nerds, but the girls and I were laughing and having more fun than I had honestly thought could be possible, especially
Storm Two days after my birthday, it was the dreaded Thursday, and we were getting ready to go to the Celtic Moon Pack. To say I was nervous is downplaying things a lot. I was as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof. I was seriously terrified! I was so scared that even in my wolf form, I hadn’t been able to sleep a wink last night. Leah came into mine and Lilly’s room dragging a small suitcase behind her for me to put my things into. She had decided it was going to be easier for me to use one of her small suitcases since my two duffel bags were all large ones. I packed what I was going to need to get me through the next four days. Clothes, shoes, toiletries, my hairbrush and some hair bands, deodorant, perfume, phone charger, purse. Leah and the girls had assured me we were going to be staying at the family home, and that we would not be attending any functions while we were there, so we only needed to pack for comfort. After I had packed everything that I was
