Chapter 5

"Fuck! I have to go back home," Aldrich cursed.

He didn't care anymore about his shattered cell phone, he got back into the car and stomped on the gas pedal until he heard the distinctive roar of a Ferrari car.

After approximately 1 hour drive to his house which is quite far from the city center. Now Aldrich has entered the yard of his house, there is a large garden that adorns the Victorian Mansion.

Aldrich immediately stopped his car quite far from the entrance. In front of the entrance, a man looks uneasy. Especially with seeing Aldrich who came with a cold face, made the man standing in front of the door even more scared.

"Master–," said the man.

"Why are you even outside, huh? Tsk, damn it!" annoyed Aldrich. He opened the door violently until it was wide open.

In his spacious living room, he didn't see Derrick there. Aldrich was getting angrier because he knew where his cousin was.

In the blink of an eye, Aldrich was already go to where his cousin was. A room with a large table in the middle, while the surroundings are full of high shelves that rise to the ceiling.

Various books are neatly arranged on the shelves.

"I'd love to break your arms and legs out of shape." Aldrich threw a very thick book at Derrick.

Derrick avoided the book. "Hi, Cousin!"

"Say what you want and then disappear from my life."

"Relax, we can talk while drinking some of your wine collection."

Aldrich smiled as if in agreement but in contrast to what he did next. With a very fast movement, Aldrich banged Derrick's head on the large table in the middle of the room until it bled.

Derrick didn't stand still, he fought back too. A heavy blow landed on Aldrich's stomach. But Derrick lost badly when Aldrich locked the man's movement by putting his hands behind his back and pushing his body against the table.

"I won't hesitate to kill you, Derrick. Don't forget who I am." Aldrich grabbed Derrick's hair.

"Yes! Just like you killed him," Derrick hissed.

"It's good that your little brain still remembers it," Aldrich sneered.

"I also know that—"

"Tell me what you want or I'll tell your father you're here right now."

"Okay, I'll say it. But let me go first." Aldrich let go of Derrick.

"I want to live here," Derrick said.

"Hahaha. In your dream," replied Aldrich.

"Oh, come on—"

"Get out of my house now!"

"I'll give you anything—"

"Get out!"

"Listen, I'm being chased by a Vampire Hunter. So at least give me a place to hide," Derrick explained.

"I don't care. Ask your father for help," replied Aldrich.

"Aldrich!" cried Derrick.

"That's your problem, so mind your troubles. Now, get out of here!"

With a heavy heart, Derrick left the house. He felt hurt, his hand hit the bookshelf beside him so hard that it broke on one of the wooden slats and made several books fall.

Aldrich followed Derrick until the man came out of his mansion. After making sure Derrick had crossed the fence of his house. Aldrich turned to look at the man who was originally at the door when he came.

"Harry! it seems you are no longer useful," said Aldrich. The man who was called Harry instantly looked pale.

"No sir. I'm sorry. I still want to live," begged Harry.

Will Aldrich forgive him?

Aldrich huffed in annoyance and slapped Harry in the face. He gripped the collar of Harry's white shirt roughly. "Why did you let him in, huh? Harry, I feel like it was a waste to teach you."

"S—sir, I'm sorry. I was on the hunt earlier so I didn't know if anyone had entered the house."

"I hired you to guard this house. But look, you've neglected your duty. That means I have to kill you."

"S-sir"

Aldrich held Harry's heart in his hands, then he squeezed it until it shattered. Blood splattered on his black clothes.

Remembering his shattered cell phone, he took Harry's cell phone. From a distance, there was a man working in the house as a gardener. He was trimming the tree.

Aldrich immediately approached the man and asked him to clean up Harry's corpse as well as to find someone who could repair his bookshelf.

"From now on, you take Harry's place. Find someone who can fix the bookshelf, okay? Let me know when it's finished," explained Aldrich.

"Uh, okay. Sir," he replied. He was a little surprised that Aldrich was suddenly in front of him.

"What's your name?"

"Norman, Sir."

Aldrich just nodded, he was busy fiddling with Harry's cell phone. Now Aldrich has entered a number. Then he called his man to buy a new cell phone and sent it to the apartment.

"Norman. You've understood your assignment, haven't you?"

"Yes, Sir. I understand."

"This phone is for you. Then I'll get out of here." Aldrich gives Harry's cell phone to Norman.

Aldrich got into his car and left the mansion for Norman, the new housekeeper.

Finally, he arrived at the floor he was aiming for, he immediately entered his apartment. He wanted to quickly clean Harry's blood that was stuck to his clothes and hands. After cleaning himself, Aldrich briefly closed his eyes and enjoyed the softness of the bed in his room.

Not long after he was in that position, he heard someone ringing the doorbell of his apartment. "Damn it!"

Wearing his pajamas, Aldrich went out of the room towards the front door. He saw on the intercom screen that it was his man who had brought his cell phone for him.

"Just put it in front of the door," said Aldrich.

“Eh… okay,” he replied.

"I'll send you a bonus later."

"Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Aldrich. If you need anything, please contact me anytime. I will give you anything you want."

"Oh really? Even if all I need is your life?"

The man did not answer, his body trembled at Aldrich's words. But suddenly Aldrich spoke again. "You may go. Continue your work."

"Okay, I'll go now."

After confirming that the person had left, Aldrich took the paper bag containing the new cell phone.

The next day, Aldrich went about school activities as usual. When it was time to go home, Vincent walked over to his desk. “Hey, how come you just passed by in front of the homeroom teacher? She didn't see you at all, but when I tried—”

Aldrich did not pay attention to Vincent's said because his attention was drawn to the two policemen who were in front of the class. One of the policemen was talking to a teacher who was outside the classroom. A few minutes later, the teacher pointed at Aldrich which automatically made the two policemen look at Aldrich with an unfriendly look.

The two policemen walked into the classroom and approached Aldrich and Vincent. "Hey, Kids! Which one of you is named Aldrich Carrington?”

"Is there anything I can help with?" asked Aldrich. He smiled sarcastically.

What do the police need with Aldrich?
