"Luna, there's a big problem! Please help us in the Housepack!"
I was startled to hear a woman's shout from the courtyard. Who in broad daylight would disturb my peaceful rest?
"Luna, can you come with me now?" the voice shouted again when I finally appeared before her.
"What's wrong?" I asked in a haughty manner. I was Luna now. After all, there was a certain dignity I had to maintain.
"There was a landslide in the eastern region that caused great damage. The landslide victim refugees have filled the Housepack and we're having trouble accommodating them," the woman replied explaining the situation.
I recognized that woman. She was one of the renowned healers. Back then, before I became Luna, my mother and I used to help her at the healing center.
"Alright, I'll be there right now," I replied, still with a haughty attitude.
I then signaled the omegas who were now serving me every day to follow me to Housepack.
Arriving there, I was surprised to see so many shabby-looking people filling the courtyard and training grounds of the warriors in our Housepack.
"Where's Alpha Magnus?" I asked the healer who called me earlier.
"The Alpha is at the disaster site digging out the landslide victims and searching for surviving pack members," she replied.
I nodded frantically. I didn't know what to do. I had never dealt with this kind of problem before. Just seeing so many victims gathered around waiting for help like this was giving me a headache. I really didn't expect the refugees to be this many.
I looked around for help, but all the pack members seemed to be very busy going back and forth to take care of the miserable-looking victims.
"Luna, please tell us, where will these people be evacuated to? This housepack is not enough to accommodate them all," a voice suddenly startled me.
Before I could answer the question, another voice chimed in.
"Luna, there are many seriously injured victims, we need more medicines and clean cloths to bandage their wounds. Please give instructions to supply them."
I moved anxiously in an uncertain direction. It was very confusing to have to deal with so many things at the same time.
"Luna, sorry to bother you in such a busy time, I need to discuss an important matter with you." A huge woman wearing an apron approached me in a confidential manner.
"What's wrong?" I asked, annoyed that she was adding to my troubles.
"We're running out of food, there's nothing left in the Housepack kitchen that I can cook to feed them," she whispered. It seemed like she didn't want the refugees to know that our food supplies were running low.
I was frozen in place. Problems seemed to keep popping up endlessly. Finally, like the other pack members who held me responsible as Luna, I only spoke empty words of comfort to get the people out of my way.
I slipped between the crowd of refugees and pack members who were busy from earlier. All I wanted right now was to find a safe place to be alone and think about all these problems quietly.
I looked around inside the Housepack, but not a single room was empty. Even the room reserved for the Alpha was filled with victims being treated.
Just as I was starting to lose my spirits, I spotted a broom closet that was empty because the tools were being used by the omegas. Without wasting any time, I quickly went in and hid there.
This reminded me of my past where I used to hide in the broom closet to avoid the people who liked to order me to do a lot of chores.
I used to prefer being by Sabrina's side. People didn't dare to bother me when I was with her. Who would have thought that the ugly girl who used to be her play mate would now take her place as Luna.
"Where is the Luna?" My thoughts was interrupted when I heard the sound of people looking for me outside.
"I saw her come in here earlier, but I'm not sure where she is," the other voice replied.
"Ack, never mind, there's no need to look for her. She's a useless Luna. We can't rely on her."
I was surprised to hear those words.
"Yeah, right. Did you see her face earlier? She looked confused and didn't know what to do."
"Ah, if only Sabrina were our Luna, surely she could solve this problem with her father's help."
Hearing Sabrina's name mentioned, I felt like scolding them. How dare they compare me to Sabrina, that loser.
But I can't deny what they just said. It's true that I don't know what to do right now and I don't have anyone who can help me like Sabrina's father.
As a result, I can't get angry or punish them. All I can do is cry quietly in this broom closet and hope that no one finds me here.
Suddenly, the closet door opened. I was shocked. I quickly wiped away my tears. I would pretend to be locked in here if the person who opened this closet asked why I was here.
"Tania, come out dear," a soft, familiar voice soothed me.
"Elder Darius," I squealed excitedly.
"What are you doing in there?" he asked.
Seeing the Elder's old face gave me an instant sense of relief. Everything was going to be okay.
I told him about my problem and the conversation I'd overheard earlier. Elder Darius listened to me carefully.
"Alright, this is what you should do. Meet one of the warriors out there and have him escort the refugees to my territory in the west, I will provide a large place to accommodate them all," he said.
"Then, meet the healer and tell her that the medicines and bandages will be here soon, I've contacted my colleagues to send them in large quantities," he continued.
"Then, go to the kitchen and tell the omegas who are there to go to the border, there are several carts carrying groceries waiting there," he concluded.
I was surprised to hear the Elder's explanation. I didn't expect all the complicated problems he could solve so easily. Without wasting any more time, I carried out all of Elder Darius' orders.
"Amazing, it turns out our Luna is reliable. We had the wrong idea earlier."
I overheard someone's words while passing through the corridor as soon as I finished carrying out the task from Elder Darius earlier.
"Yes, she's very smart and skillful. It's a good thing that all problems can be solved by her quickly. We're very lucky to have a competent Luna like her."
A smile spread across my lips. I managed to get them to acknowledge my abilities. After this no one should doubt me as Luna anymore.
"How did it go? Is everything settled?" Elder Darius' voice startled me.
"Yes, all thanks to you, Elder. Thank you for helping me," I replied cheerfully.
Elder Darius chuckled happily and then continued.
"No problem, you don't have to worry about anything. As long as you follow all my orders, you'll live comfortably as a Luna in this pack."
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the landscape, I made my way back to the Silver Fang Pack territory," I murmured to myself, my steps steady but my mind a whirlwind of thoughts. "The shaman's revelation weighs heavily on me," I admitted quietly, my thoughts consumed by the prospect of finding a cure for my curse. "But perhaps, just perhaps, there's a glimmer of hope on the horizon," I mused, feeling a newfound determination stir within me. "If there's even a chance of breaking free from this curse, I'll pursue it with all I have," I resolved, my heart swelling with a mix of anticipation and resolve.Upon reaching my doorstep, I noticed a figure standing in the fading light, waiting patiently. It was the shaman, his weathered face illuminated by the soft glow of twilight. Surprise flickered in my eyes as I approached him."Shaman," I greeted him, my voice a mix of curiosity and apprehension. "What brings you here?"The shaman turned to face me, his gaze
As the alpha of the Silver Fang Pack, my days were filled with the constant responsibilities of maintaining pack logistics and ensuring the well-being of our members. It was amidst these bustling activities that Sabrina, my fate mate, approached me with a significant revelation."Sabrina," I acknowledged her presence as she entered the packhouse, her expression betraying a mix of nervousness and determination."Tyler," she began, her voice steady despite the underlying tension, "I've finally mustered the courage to talk to my father about... about us."Her words hung in the air, laden with implications of the complexities that intertwined our lives. Sabrina's father, Samuel, was the Beta of the Black Fur Pack, and bridging the gap between our packs held its own challenges."You told him about the... curse?" I inquired, knowing full well the weight of the secret we shared.Sabrina nodded, her eyes meeting mine with unwavering resolve. "Yes, and he wants to meet you. He wants
In the quiet hours of the evening, when the moon hung in the sky like a comforting lantern, a melancholy settled within me. The shadows of the past lingered, and the echoes of gossip still reverberated in my mind. In an attempt to find solace, I decided to reach out to the one person who had always been a source of guidance – my father.Uncle Felix's house was filled with subdued sounds as I made my way to his room, hoping to find a moment of privacy. With a deep breath, I dialed my father's number, the anticipation building with each ring."Hello?" His voice, a familiar melody, flowed through the phone."Dad, it's me, Sabrina," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady."Sabrina! How are you, my dear?" His warmth traveled through the phone, a balm to my troubled soul."I'm okay, Dad," I hesitated, the weight of unspoken words lingering. "How's everything at the Black Fur Pack?"There was a pause, a moment where the connection seemed to bridge the distance between us. "Things are goin
"They already fell asleep now."As the night settled in, and the moon bathed the orphanage in a soft glow, I began to gather the remaining blankets. Aunt Ruth, with a gentle smile, joined me in the task. The children, now lost in dreams, were peacefully asleep, their stories and the warmth of the blankets creating a haven of comfort.Aunt Ruth and I made our way towards the exit, the weight of the day's events lingering in the air. As we reached the doorway, the hushed conversations of the women at the orphanage reached my ears."Have you seen how Sabrina interacts with the children? She's a natural with them," one woman remarked, her voice full of admiration."Oh, absolutely. She's like a guardian angel to them," another woman chimed in."Heart of gold, that Sabrina," one of them whispered. "She'd make a perfect Luna for our alpha. Don't you think?"I froze for a moment, curiosity getting the better of me. Hiding behind a pillar, I listened to the exchange unfolding."Oh, absolutely,
"Your cooking always taste wonderfull Aunt Ruth."After a satisfying lunch prepared by Aunt Ruth, she gently tapped my shoulder, her warm smile inviting. "Sabrina, dear, would you mind helping me bring some food to the orphanage in our pack?"I nodded, a sense of purpose filling me. "Of course, Aunt Ruth. I'd be happy to help."We gathered food supplies and some used warm blankets, making our way to the Silver Fang Pack's orphanage. The air was crisp, and the sun cast a golden glow over the landscape. As we walked towards the orphanage, Aunt Ruth began to share some insights. "Sabrina, I thought you should know that these children at the orphanage are the sons and daughters of werewolves who have fallen on the battlefield or died in natural disasters."My heart sank at the gravity of their stories. "That's heartbreaking," I murmured.Aunt Ruth nodded solemnly. "Yes, dear. It's our duty to support them and bring a bit of joy into their lives whenever we can. Many have faced challenges
"Bring her in!" Magnus commanded with authority. The air in the makeshift interrogation room hung heavy with tension as I stood in the shadows, watching my mother, the woman who had raised me, being scrutinized by Magnus. Her tear-streaked face betrayed a mix of fear, desperation, and a pleading hope for understanding.Magnus, the imposing figure of authority, spoke with a sternness that echoed through the room. "Your daughter claims you forced her into corruption. What do you have to say for yourself?"My mother, with quivering lips, vehemently denied the allegations. "I swear, Alpha Magnus, I am innocent. I would never do anything to harm Tania or the pack."But Magnus, unyielding in his pursuit of the truth, began to reveal a series of incidents that cast a damning light on my mother's actions. Each revelation cut through the air like a knife, severing the bonds of trust that had once tied us together."First, you used Tania's name as Luna to forcibly take your neighbor's livestock
