Chapter 26 I promise not to leave

"Tell me something, Wolfe. Is she someone special?" Philip asked when both he and Gabrielle was left alone by the guests for the time being.

Gabrielle frowned. "Who?" He acted to be unknown, knowing well about whom he was asking.

Philip chuckled. "Don't play with me, Wolfe. I know you well." He patted her shoulder. "Miss O'Dean seems an excellent woman. I hope to see you both happy."

Gabrielle nodded his head, still holding a blank expression when a few guests approached them once again and he felt bothered.

Gabrielle was not fond of socializing. Always maintained his distance and only joined the parties which couldn't be denied. He was the mysterious Duke of Birmingham because of his lack of socialisation. Most of the people don't know about his real identity.

However, it's different for Philip. Gabrielle was kind of a debtor to him. After all, this man has saved his life before and he couldn't be rude to this kind man. Moreover, by ignoring him, he didn't want to disrespect the man
