FORTY-NINE

“God, where is this man?” Clarissa shot out in frustration.

She dialed his number once more, and it went to voicemail. She slammed the phone on the nearby desk in frustration. She had no idea why this was going on like this. The thought of something happening to him almost crippled her. She wasn’t sure she would be able to take that if that were to happen.

She took a deep breath and decided to leave the house. She needed to clear her head. So many things were happening that she didn’t understand. She didn’t know when she became so attached to Archer. She didn’t understand anything, and worse, he wasn’t here to listen to her worries, and pacify her like he always does.

She grabbed her black coat from one of the doors, and then, walked out of the door. She wasn’t sure where she was headed, but anywhere was better than stewing at home, and wondering what was going on with her.
