A HURTFUL PAST A knock on the door disrupted her sleep, causing her brows to crease as she rolled to the other side of the bed. She scrunched her eyes up, trying to get back to her sleep when another series of knocking came after.“Hmm.” She groaned out, her hand fumbling on the bed as she reached for the blanket, throwing it over herself and acting cozy inside of it.“You have to open the door princess,” she heard her maid say from the door, causing the frown on her face to deepen.She was just about to open her eyes and remove the blanket on top of her when she noticed the knocks had stopped. She rolled on the bed, opening her eyes and putting her ears on alert as she waited for the knocks to come again. PRESENT The first thing Stacey noticed as she opened her eyes was the dim room and the faces she had never seen before. She scrunched her face up at the splitting ache in her head before opening her eyes again. A man was with a needle, ready to insert it in her anytime from his face. A woman sat beside her, her palm around her small hand, from the way she was holding her, she could tell the woman was holding her down. “Where am I?” She finally muttered, darting her eyes between both of them. "She's awake." the woman yelled out. “Get the alpha, now!” The man with the needle ordered as the woman eyed her before standing up. “Where am I?” She asked again, closing her eyes tightly and trying to remember anything. Her father. A meeting. The elders. A light. “Ahh!” She half growled out as she opened her eyes again. “Do not come near me!” She snapped at the man before he could come any closer. She managed to sit up. She couldn’t remember anything, but fragments of the last incident.

Apart from not remembering her memory, things have been going pretty well for Stacey, even though she feels unsettled about it. Lucien took good care of her, he adored her but his questions about some strange things baffled her greatly.“My lady, the alpha requests for you in his room.”Even though they’re mates which she was still finding a bit hard to wrap her head around, they didn’t sleep in the same room. Their room was beside each other, and he had access to her anytime. Every day she woke up in this room, a part of her screamed to her that this was not her life. Everything felt surreal to her, the rich life, the care and adornment.
