Chapter Six

As Sham stood admiring the beautiful Paintings on the wall, he became confused by what he saw on the wall. These paintings told a story but he didn't understand it one bit.

"You are suprised by this" he heard Adrian's voice behind him.

" Long ago before even our fathers were born, the weredragons, were wolves and other magical creatures lived together in peace. They protected the human world when the need arose yet they remained hidden from them.

"After a while, a weredragon fell in love with a werewolf. Although everyone lived peacefully, they never tried to interbreed. This was a result of a prophecy; WHEN THE WOLVES AND DRAGONS BECOME NAKED TO EACH OTHER, THEN THE SHAME OF HATRED WILL SET IN...There is a continuation of this prophecy but very few seems to know it. It took me years of study to finish the prophecy but I won't tell you. Everyone agreed to maintain the pure breed but destiny as always was determined to change this. These two foolish creatures continued their love even after the several warnings. They were threatened with exile and even death but still, they wouldn't listen. The more everything possible was done to seperate them, the more their emotions grew bigger. At last, they did it! The result of their burning desires gave birth to the most powerful creature ever, 'a weregon'. It was a wolf and dragon shifter, the most powerful creature that ever existed.

When this child was born, the whole earth shook, the universe turned black and even the least flea knew that something terrible was set to happen.

Disagreement broke out between the weredragons and werewolves, every effort to resolve the issue proved abortive. Members of the council thought it was to kill the child so the baby ceases to exist, maybe then the gradual rift that was coming between this two powerful creatures could be fixed. None could come close to this child with an evil intention, talk more of coming to kill the child. The hatred between the two creatures started with each person putting the blame on the other set of people. This was serious! " Adrian explained the paintings starting from the beginning of the room to the end.

"How come nobody told us about the this?" Sham wondered still running his hands over the pictures over and over again. Whoever painted this did a good job, the pictures looked so alive that one could feel the heat coming out of the dragon breathe.

"This painting came into existence as a result of our most powerful guardian's breathe. He did it to remind us of the prophecy and to make use of the opportunity when it comes to fix this great hatred. " He continued answering my question as if reading my mind.

"When the elders of both group saw that this hatred was leading to more deaths, they sought the wisest human sorcerer then. Humans always had this thing with wisdom! They still had this dominating will, and could find their way out of every situation. Also, since we were already cursed as a result of the prophecy fufiling, we needed some one who wasn't affected with the curse to do something about it.

We found a man and told him the prophecy, he found a way to add to the prophecy so that there was a solution. He found a way to reduce the rate at which this WEREGONS were born in each generation. It could only happen once in a thousand year because the more these powerful babies where born, the more the whole earth was drifting apart because of the hatred between the weredragons and werewolves." He explained

" So, in this period, have one been born?" Sham asked thinking hard.

" One was born twenty years ago and she is somewhere on this Earth." Adrian said massaging his beards.

" Why don't we look for him and convince him to join us. With such power by outside, we would be unstoppable. " The greedy Sam said really thinking hard.

"Patience my friend. She is yet to understand the full force of the power she holds. If you handle it wrongly, the peace would be restored by her. Oh, it's a girl. A weak looking fragile girl.

This new revelation was a shocker.

"Alright, that's enough for one night. Run along now." Adrian commanded.

With this, Sam left the front of the painting never forgetting what he saw and the story behind it. He wondered why all these were kept hidden for years. The best explanation could be that the elders only wanted to protect everyone especially this WEREGONS from power lust fellows who would stop at nothing to bring everyone under their authority.

With this new revelation, the zeal of Sham grew stronger as he was more determined to bring Gwa down. All he needed to do was to work together with Adrian, earn his trust so he could lead him to where this girl was. Then, he would use her, convince her, if it means threatening her, then he will if it would make her dance to his tune. Adrian on the other hand, had his own plan and it was a big plan that didn't have Sham in the picture at the latter end.

This explains why and where the whole poisoning of Gwa started from. Sham slipped the crushed powder into Gwa's food, drink, bath water and everything that was going through his mouth bits by bits so as to weaken him gradually.

Raphael POV

I returned to the room where I had handed Gwa over to Sham to take him to safety. I assumed Sham had taken Gwa to safety since I couldn't find any of them. But I was shocked to see Sham angrily yelling at a Weredragon behind a tree.

"Why was he yelling at a were dragon? Weren't they supposed to be at each other's neck? Weren't they supposed to be killing each other by now? If Sham was here, then we're was Gwa. What did he do with him? " All these questions and more flooded my head and I knew I just had to search for him. I would have asked Sham but this situation didn't look ordinary, there definitely was something fishy going on. My instincts kicked in and I knew I shouldn't trust anyone right now. Besides of the keepers were responsible for the poisoning and soon death of Gwa. But I needed to start from the last place I saw him maybe I could see clues that would help me find him.

I went back to the room and saw a bottle that was laying careless on the ground. Since k didn't have time to investigate what that was, I took in and hid it in my cloack. I saw Gwa's sword and then I took it.

"This was going to come in handy." I said as I took it.

I searched around carefully and I found traces of blood, the blood stained the window and I could conclude it was that of Gwa. He probably jumped outside the window.

I followed the trace of blood, igniting my smell sense, I traced the smell of this particular blood down into the forest. When I arrived at some junction, I saw a girl standing fixed to the ground, she wasn't moving, it looked like she saw something that scared the life out of her.

"Who is this girl? And what is she doing in this forest at this time of the night? What was she looking at that caught so much of her attention? " I wondered as I carefully positioned myself at the back of a tree so as to get a better view of what was happening.
