Chapter 22

Isaac refused to let me go anywhere other than in his car. He didn’t even care that I actually drove to the restaurant or that police cars were approaching as we stood there arguing about me riding with him. For some insane reason I really didn’t want him to go to jail, so I reluctantly got in his car. How he would handle the witnesses and all the people he pissed off was his problem.

“How was your weekend?” he asked as he drove away.

I stared out the window. I was sure he didn’t just destroy an entire restaurant to ask me how my weekend was.

“Are you still ignoring me?” he asked, disbelief coloring his tone.

“Isaac, I had you pegged for a more rational person…quite possibly a sociopath, but at least rational. Now I see how wrong I was,” I said.

“Really?! A sociopath?! You don’t think I’m capable of all emotions?” he asked.
