Chapter Eight

It’s called flirting dummy.

Emma’s Pov

That night Tobi and I slept together, not literally together but on the same bed.  I didn't fully understood what our relationship was but nevertheless I was happy. We cuddled, flirted every chance we got close to kissing most times but we always held back.

He made a proposal this morning, requesting that I move into his house, considering that my house is a little bit far from his company and plus as a PA I had to be close in cases of emergency.

Lola and I still haven't talked since our argument, frankly I haven't made any attempt to reach her since I knew she wouldn't answer my calls.

"You ready Miss?" Donald, Tobi's driver asked me. He was going to drive me to my place to get my things.

He's refused to call me by my name even when he's way older than me and I have stopped letting him see reasons why I should be referred to as Emma not Miss. "yeah"  I flashed him a smile and got in the opened car door.

He closed the door and went straight to the drivers seat.  It took us about half an hour to get to Lola/my house, and I was glad the journey didn't take longer because it was getting boring.

"Do you need help Ma'm"  Donald asked professionally standing right outside the door. His lips in a straight line and for some unknown reason he seemed to be frowning, maybe he didn’t like being around me.

I shot him a frown " it's Emma, and No I am good"  I told him as I walked inside. The house was quietly empty and I figured nobody should be at home since it's Lola's workday. I went straight to my room and boxed my few belongings and then I heard a voice from Lola's room.

I tiptoed towards it and I opened the door with a rush. My eyes widened at the sight of Lola on an unknown man I don’t recognize to be Tyler. Thankful within me that they were fully clothed, it would have been way grosser. I slammed the door immediately regretting that I did open her door.

"It isn't what you think"  Lola rushes out of her room as she sat beside me in the couch.

"Care to explain why that guy in there isn't Tyler?” I asked her angrily, I never considered cheating in a relationship and I thought Lola shared that idea also.

"you wouldn't understand" she told me her hands shaking nervously. I moved closer to her and covered her hands with mine.

"Am your family Lol, your best friend" I reminded her partly annoyed that she was hiding things from me.

"I know, with all you had going on Zach  stuff and all that I didn't want to burden you" she said sobbing.

"You've never been a burden to me babe, I will never think of you that way.  To think am a bad friend I was too covered in my own mess to notice what you're going through"

"No am the bad friend,  I should have told you Tyler  bailed out when I suggested marriage to him"

"Oh Lol am so sorry" I hugged her in tears, patting her back slowly.

"It's my fault I pushed him too far than I should have" I moved away from her wiping her tears.

"Nonsense, 5 years is a lot of time to make up his mind if he wants to be with you or not.  And I think he's made up his mind you deserve better than him"  I told her confidently.

"Am sorry I didn't tell you" She said in between tears.

"It's okay, And who's that hottie in your bed?" I said raising my eyebrows.  Her face turned red immediately.

"He's Just someone I met few days ago" she said smiling.

"Oh didn't seem like that when i walked in on you guys"  I told her giving her a knowing look, a smile at the end of my lips.

"I'll tell you things get serious"  she covered her face to hide her blush.

"Am moving out" I told her and when I noticed her expression, I added "it isn't your fault, Tobi insisted I stay with him"

"Oh you're on first name basis with your boss"

"Oh shut up" I told her smiling "it's just for six months"

"Are you sure you'll be fine?" Lola asked obviously worried.

"Sure, Tobi is harmless" I told her. Truthfully I was trying to convince myself more than I was to her.

***

Tobi's Pov

"C'mon Man it hasn't gotten to that"  I told Mr Hakeem, one of the company's important business partner.

"These people are very important, if you're not willing to compromise for their sake then we'll choose a better company to partner with"

"20% that's the deal, take it or leave it"

"25" Mr Hakeem said professionally.

"Fine. Get Macy to show them to the executive suite, if there's anything they're not comfortable with anything we will see to that and we'll take up the business from there" I told him handing him some files.

"Sure" As he opened the door to leave Jim entered,  exchanging greetings with Mr Hakeem for a few seconds before closing the door behind him.

"I thought your flight leaves by 2pm" I told him replying to my several unread emails, while ignoring the not so important ones.

He sat on the chair opposite me smiling "I came to see my favorite best friend"

"I am your only best friend"  I told him shaking my head. My phone rang before he could come up with a comeback.

"Pumpkin" I smiled into the phone, glad that Emma called, I was beginning to miss her.

"You done parking?" I asked her "sure I'll see you later, please make the bed warm it's going to be a long night"  I laughed as i ended the call.

"You sleeping with her already?" Jim asked with a confused look.

"No, it's called flirting dummy" I told him as I pushed my laptop aside.

"Still haven't told her you first met her at the club?" Jim told me.

"It isn't necessary,  you aren't changing your mind about traveling are you?"  I asked him.

"And ruin your chance of sleeping with Emma?  Nah" he said with a wink.

"On the same bed"  I corrected.

"Whatever,  ohh Anna called"  his voice came out low and my mood changed immediately. "she said you've refused to answer her calls and texts"

"She called just once" I replied tightly.

"You can't run from her your whole life,  you didn't even properly break up with her yet. You found out about her relationship with her manager, sent her things over to her and avoided her like a plague"

"I did what a man would do"  I told him already loosing my temper.

"You acted like a coward, a real man would sit and talk things out, instead of hiding in your office building and giving a strict order not to let her in" Jim told me

"Get out" I told him boiling "stay the hell away from my personal life" I said again as he stood up.

"Whatever Pussy" He walked out slamming the door angrily.  Jim was right, I was a pussy and truth was that am still not ready to talk things with Anna. I know my emotions would get the best of me and we'll be laying in same bed if she as little as kiss me.
