“ What’s up, Terry?” I said after leaving Seana in the empty classroom. I didn’t want to leave her but I didn’t think I wanted Terry to see us like that.

“ We need to talk,” he said sternly, his brows furrowing in a frown.

“ What about?” I asked, leading him away from the class so that Seana could leave without being spotted.

“ It’s about Seana. What’s really going on between you two?”

I kept walking until we got to the end of the hallway and I was certain that Seana had gotten out.

“ What do you mean?” I said, linking my mind with his.

“ I observed how you’ve been pushing her away despite the obvious,”

“ what obvious?”

“ why the fuck do you do this? You know exactly what I mean,”

“ She’s your mate isn’t she?” he asked and I nodded.
