Hector and I sat down on the rock where I once watched him turn into a horrendous-looking wolf for the first time. I recounted how terrified I was when I saw his wolf and he laughed because he claimed his wolf just wanted to "play"

" Play? Please say something less ridiculous. I thought I had died that day!" I teased and smiled fondly, staring at the field of dandelions that surrounded the rock where we sat.

" Oh...you wound me, Avila." He said, smirking at me. He knew I was not yet used to my alter ego -the person I had become in battle. Yet, I am Avila, the Luna who, by choosing her mate, found our Alpha Armani - one of the Alpha Trinity.

" I'm surprised Armani could be wounded. I thought he was immortal," I said, while he just shook his head and fixed his silver eyes on me.

" What am I to make of being the head of the Alpha Trinity? I don't have the slightest idea what I'm doing." He confessed as his hands ran through my long, red hair.

" With time, we will all figure it out. I hope Aidan gets well soon. His mind was damaged in the process of getting Alpha Drey out of him." I said, remembering how confused he was after his first recovery.

" An unholy and wicked fusion. Although, my mother assured me he would be fine. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I need him to keep the balance." Hector admitted.

" You all need each other," I said, and then we sat quietly.

"I love you, Kayla," Hector suddenly said to me with eyes that held just as much emotion as his voice did. I knew he meant every word and I also knew I should say it back, but I wanted to rile him up, so I said," Hmm... I don't know, the delivery is kinda weak, don't you think?"

He, of course, knew I was kidding, so he laughed and instead kissed me on my lips while placing his hand gently on my stomach. I could sense his excitement, he had just become Alpha and I his Luna, and just moments after, I ended up being pregnant! He wanted nothing more than to be the best parent to the baby and so did I.

" While I would love to sit here and try so many ways to say I love you until you're satisfied, I would prefer to see you resting. You'll need it if we're to bring this...tender soul into this world."

" I'm scared," I said to him before I wrapped my hands around his neck for a long embrace.

" I know," he replied, stroking my hair with his hands.

" You defeated Alpha Drey and that was a big task - and we weren't even prepared for it, so I'm sure we can handle a kid or two..." Hector said to me.

" Two? Are you kidding me? It's most definitely just one child we're having!" I protested, to which he smirked and said.

" Okay! As far as you don't come nagging for more kids, then I'm good."

" As if..." I said, feeling very certain about my stand. He chuckled and kissed me tenderly on my lips, but I was pulled back into reality by a familiar voice.

" Mom! Dad!" My daughter Sadie called angrily, taking me back to the present and making me realize that I had been reminiscing about my past with Hector as he kissed me in the present.

I was reminding him about when I first told him that I was pregnant and how certain I was that we would have one child. That was when he kissed me and as we kissed we both dived into each other's minds, remembering that moment.

But Sadie, one of our three children, walked in giving Hector and me disapproving glances.

" You know that I'm allowed to kiss your mom, right?" Hector said as he turned to face our soon-to-be nineteen-year-old daughter.

She just folded her arms and rolled her eyes at her father. She had Hector's silver eyes and also had red hair like me too. However, I didn't understand why her hair wasn't brown, since red was never my original hair color. I never questioned it.

Her twin sister, on the other hand, had brown hair like me, but it didn't always use to be brown. Her hair became red whenever she cast spells or used her powers.

" Well, Dad, you should know that I've been looking all over for you. I can barely find you anywhere around work, but one place I never fail to find you is at this dandelion field with Mom," she teased.

" What can I say, our love still waxes strong," Hector said with a mischievous smile, but before she could put in another word he left.

" Seriously? Is he just going to bolt? Mom!"

" I'm sorry. He didn't really have much time with me either, he was going to leave soon, and I guess he just did." I tried to say with a smile, but she didn't seem to want a smile from me.

" Whatever. It was you I hoped to see anyway." She said before she joined me on the rock.

" Why, do you want to hear another thrilling story about your dad and I?"

" Uh...no. I get that this is your spot and all, but I've actually come here to talk about something else or, rather, someone else."

" Oh...okay. Who is that?" I asked, giving her an encouraging smile.

" It's Seana"

" Is everything okay with her?"

" Mom, how can you ask that? You've got three kids. Sean and I have our mates already. Seana is without a mate and, what's worse, she's losing her powers. Of course, she's not okay!"

"It's not... Well, I thought we already talked about it, and you were the one telling me to let her deal with it on her own. Now, should I not do that anymore?"

" Well...it's just that Sean and I have come up with a solution."

" Okay? What is the solution?"

" Maybe this pack can't do anything for her. It's been years, and they still can't help her get her powers back. Instead, she's losing it more."

" I'm waiting for you to say what the solution is, Sadie."

" We need to let her learn in another pack," Sadie said after taking a deep breath.

" What other pack can help her with her powers? Our family is literally the only ones in all fourteen packs that have powers. Who else could teach her except your grandmother, Nova? Besides, Nova taught all of you and the two of you turned out great."

" But it's obvious that Seana needs more than grandma's teaching."

" There is nothing more than your grandma's teaching Sadie. She's the best there is."

" No, she's not."

" Then who is it?"

" The School for Higher Power Arts in Vortex."

I stared at Sadie for a good minute before I finally said, "Don't you ever mention that pack again."

" But Mom, it's her only hope. She's miserable!"

" If this means a lot to her, then why isn't she here right now? Huh? Why isn't she the one pitching this idea to me right now? Are you trying to get rid of your sister or something?"

" That's...that's not fair Mom. I love Seana but -"

"- but what?"

" She's holding me back."

" How?"

" We're twins. We're connected. I feel her anger and her pain, and it's tiring to share that burden with her."

" Have you seen her when she sees me having fun, Sara? She is always so hurt that she doesn't have a mate. Frankly, her weakness is starting to affect me too. I just...want her to be happy so that I can be truly happy." Sadie added.

" She will be happy if she is allowed to learn from masters in magic at Vortex and I can finally be separated from her. I don't want to remain bonded with her. It's time I had a mind of my own and my own emotions. I don't want anyone else’s"

" I'll talk to your father. But I doubt that he will listen. Vortex pack betrayed him. This was going to be hard. However, I'll talk to him."

" I hope he agrees," Sadie said, but I knew Hector would never agree. Hector was beyond enraged when he found out what Vortex did to him. I would even be scared to mention Vortex Pack to him. I love my daughter Seana and I want her to be happy, but even I don't think this is the right way to go about it.
