"See what? Are you crazy?" Jason shouted in horror.

"It seems you are hurt down there. Why are you making a fuss? Or should I take it out myself?" Marcus asked.

"No! I am not hurt. Let go!" Jason protested.

"Are you sure?" Marcus asked. It was clear he said not believe a word Jason said.

"Yes. Since I am done with my end of the deal, can I go now?" He asked Marcus.

At that moment, there was a knock on the car window. Only then did Jason realized they had come to a stop and the driver had stepped out.

Marcus lowered the glass and the driver whispered words Jason could not catch.

"Tell him the firm is sending Jason. Have it done well,"

"Well, it seems we are not done. You deal with contract Law, right?" He asked and Jason had a bad feeling as he nodded.

"The vice president of Oak airlines needs a law6as witness. You do this for me and you are clear for today," he said and Jason nodded.

"He is the thride private room upstairs," Marcus instructed and Jason got out of the car.

Jason hurried through the light drizzle into a club. With a nod of his head, he was let in.

The sound of music blasted through his ears quickly as he stepped through the doors. His eyes panned past the horde of people dancing in the ground floor to the private rooms upstairs. He quickly noticed that he was not the only one paying attention.

A few men walked by the door of a private room a few times making him frown. Jason hoped this night would end even faster.

He walked up without much resistance, before stopping by the door of a private room.

With a deep breath, he adjusted his tie and wiped water droplets from his face before knocking on the door.

"Come in," he heard someone say and he stepped into the room.

"Who is this, Flynn? I remember telling you to come alone," someone said and Jason looked up to find a large man in a tight dress shirt. His bald head glimmed under the deem lights as he glared at Jason who had just walked in.

"This is my lawyer, Wolf. We can't sign the contracts without a witness, right?" The man named Flynn quickly explained. The thin man leaned back on his chair, but from his direction, Jason could see his back soaked in sweat.

"Oh? You want to do this by the books? Does the little Lawyer dare?" The man named wolf looked in Jason's way and he resisted the urge to swallow loudly. Jason did not in anyway consider himself a small man. He may have lean muscle but he was quite tall. But he held his tongue. Something about this deal felt off, but he brushed the thought away.

"Why not? He is from some big firm. This is a big deal to me, Wolf," Flynn answered and Wolf let out a wild laugh.

"Alright, have a seat little Lawyer," he said and Jason took a seat. He glanced at Flynn and he produced the document.

This was not usually how Jason did things, but he had no choice. Nothing happening this night was within his choice. Jason slid the document to Wolf.

"Both parties should read and if all conditions are favorable, we will proceed," Jason said and both read through.

Wolf paused after a while, slammed down the document and looked to Jason.

"All these language is not to confuse me right? You read it little Lawyer. My terms are simple. He must deliver five crates of unmarked guns by Tuesday or I will take keep the diamonds. If anything else is added to that document to trick me, you will be in trouble, little Lawyer," Wolf said and alarm bells went off in Jason's head. He glanced at his client Flynn and resisted the urge to curse out loud. Why is the president of an airline company signing an illegal weapons deal?

Jason took deep breath to calm himself. One look at wolf, and he knew he could not leave now. Besides, if he left, he would face th man downstairs. He picked up the document naturally and glanced through. The document was simple, but had all the terms. One look and he could tell why Flynn wanted to do this illegal deal legally.

This entire document incriminated wolf and his associates. It named his organization clearly and if wolf signs, it could be used in court. Jason could feel his palms go sweaty. Does this mean Flynn was working with law enforcement?

Jason resisted the urge to look at his client.

"My job is to be the witness that such a document has been signed. What you both do with it is not my concern. As for your terms, there are stated clearly. Mr Flynn Stanley has agreed to your terms. If this is alright with both of you, please sign," Jason said returning the document and placing pens before each of them.

After a few seconds, they both signed.

Wolf gave Jason a smile that made him frown before walking out. No agents jumped out to arrest him like Jason had thought. A part of him had hoped this was a sting operation, that way he could escape the man downstairs. But the logical part of him knew that if this was really some sting operation Flynn had arranged, he would be implicated, so he let out a sigh.

"I can rely on you as a witness, can't I?" Flynn asked and Jason felt his heart rate increase suddenly. So he was working wit the feds. Does the man downstairs know?

The next second, Marcus strolled into the room with his men. Jason stilled and waited for his orders. He had done his part. Hopefully, Marcus would let him go.

Flynn's knees weakenedyhe moment he realized who had walked in and dropped into his seat. He begun trembling like a leave in autum wind.

"Marcus, I did not mean to sell you to the feds. please..." He started to say but the tall man pulled a gun and shot Flynn in the chest while still holding Jason's gaze.

Jason immediately froze in horror. He did not dare look at Marcus, but Marcus lifted his chin.

"You did well, Jason. I thought when you saw the agents around, you would escape. Why didn't you?" Marcus asked.

"You know where I live," Jason answered. He conveniently left out the part that he had only suspected that those he had noticed watching the room may be agents when he saw the document.

"Why did you still enter?" Marcus pressed, stepping forward. He was so close, his breath caressed Jason's face as he talked. For some reason, Jason refused to step back.

"It did not matter. A deal was still a deal. Payment had been made," Jason answered. He tried his best to sound natural. After all he had taken the money. Was there any escape now?

A deal was still a deal? Jason resisted the urge to curse out to the universe. What utter rubbish. If he had known that he would be this incriminated in illegal activity, be would not have left his house even if Marcus shot him to death.

"We should leave. The feds will be here in a bit," Marcus said, dragging Jason out of there. Jason had not recovered from seeing a man die even after they were back in the car.

His mind quickly returned when he felt Marcus take off his belt and Unzip his pants.

The day of the Reynolds charity ball had arrived. Outside the Riverside Estate, Marcus Night stood in a nondescript van watching multiple screens displaying camera feeds from inside the event. Beside him sat Eric August, Henri Kingston, and Evan Steele, all focused intently on the video feeds."How many of your people are inside?" Eric asked, watching servers and caterers moving through the grand halls of the estate."Eighteen," Marcus replied. "Disguised as waiters, security personnel, and kitchen staff. They're positioned throughout the event."On the screens, guests were arriving in expensive cars. Men and women in formal attire, dripping with jewelry and power, made their way through the entrance. The cameras captured it all."This is incredible," Henri said, watching the video feeds switch between different angles. "The amount of wealth and power in that building right now is staggering.""That's why we need to be careful," Marcus cautioned. "These people aren't just rich. They'r

The video conference screen showed four faces arranged in boxes. Jessie sat in her home office with her phone propped up on the desk. Jason appeared from what looked like a bedroom. Kayla was in a car, driving. Leon appeared to be in some kind of office space."This has gotten completely out of control," Jessie said, her voice filled with frustration. "Between the government raids, the kidnappings, the arrests, and now Marcus holding Ernest Kent captive, I don't know how much worse things can get.""They can always get worse," Leon replied darkly. "That's the one guaranteed thing in this business.""I just want this to end," Kayla said from her car. "I want my life back to normal. I want to go to work without worrying that someone is going to come after me because of what my husband does."Jason nodded in agreement. "We're caught in the middle of something massive, and we have no control over it. We're just waiting for the next disaster to hit."The four friends had known each other f

Henri Kingston sat in his private office, watching his computer screen as it connected to a video conference call. On the screen, a woman in her fifties appeared, sitting at a desk in an official-looking office. She wore professional attire and had the demeanor of someone used to wielding authority. This was Lara Reeds, the secretary of the Ohio Canal Regulatory Body. She was powerful in her own right, controlling one of the most important waterways in the world."Mr. Kingston," Lara said with a polite but guarded smile. "I received your request to speak. I must say, I was surprised to hear from you.""The feeling is mutual, Ms. Reeds," Henri replied smoothly. "I appreciate you taking the time to meet with me on such short notice.""Your people mentioned it was urgent," Lara said. "What exactly can I do for you?"Henri leaned back in his chair, his fingers steepled thoughtfully. "I have a situation that requires a very specific solution. A solution only you can provide.""I'm listenin

Old Madam Kent sat in her study, watching the news coverage of the government raids. Two days had passed since the warehouses were seized, and the public scandal showed no signs of dying down. Her phone rang constantly with lawyers, business associates, and concerned family members. But Old Madam Kent had made her decision. She would not sit helplessly while her family was destroyed. The mysterious voice on the phone had told her to wait and be patient, but she had not built an empire by being passive. She believed Marcus Night was responsible for the raids. And if that was true, then Marcus Night needed to be reminded that the Kent family was not an easy target.Ernest entered the study, looking exhausted. He had barely slept in two days, dealing with the fallout from the government investigation."Mother, the lawyers want to discuss plea agreements," Ernest said. "They think if we cooperate with the government—""No," Old Madam Kent interrupted sharply. "We will not cooperate. We wi

The news spread like wildfire across the city. Every television channel, every radio station, every newspaper was covering the same story: the Kent family, one of the oldest and most respected business dynasties, had been raided by federal agents. Drugs worth hundreds of millions of dollars had been seized from their warehouses. In coffee shops and office buildings, people gathered around screens to watch the breaking news. Social media exploded with commentary, speculation, and outrage."This is unbelievable," one news anchor said, staring at the camera with barely contained excitement. "The Kent family has been a pillar of this community for generations. Their businesses employ thousands of people. And now we're learning they may have been operating a massive drug trafficking operation."The screen cut to aerial footage of the warehouse raids. Federal agents in tactical gear could be seen carrying boxes of evidence out of buildings. Drug-sniffing dogs moved through the warehouses. A

Agent Miller and Rudder stared at Henry Steele seated waiting for them."You really are alive," Agent Rudder said."Mr Steele, you were a government informant before disappearing. As a lawyer, you should be aware that faking your death as an informant is a crime," Age t Cathy said."Because I am a lawyer, I know a voluntary informant is not bound by those rules, so don't try to scare me. Besides, are you sure you have time to be doing this?" Henry asked as he picked up his tablet form his desk and scrolled through the net."You wanted us to find you. You let us see you alive and well to draw us to search for you, Why?" Agent Miller asked."Well, I couldn't come to you, now could I?" Henry Steele said and handed the agents the tablet. They hesitated before agent Rudder stepped forward and took the tablet. It was news from a ship explosion. The Kent family's ship was found carrying cargo of drugs. The Kent family. He has heard of them. Rudder handed th tablet to Miller."I hear you are
