The moment Marcus and Jason escaped through the service staircase, Jason's home was raided by gunmen. They burst through searching every inch.
"He is not here!" The men told their leader, a man in a dark camo print. The man looked down at the plate of finished food on the table and the kitchen and frowned. "He was just here. Canvas the area," he order and his men obeyed. He took out his phone and called his employer. "We did not get to him in time. He is gone," he said. In the back seat of Marcus' car, Jason remained quiet. His eyes were glued to the city outside. They had barely escaped. As the car pulled away, he felt angry. The only reason he was in this situation was because of Marcus. He did not want to look at him right now. Marcus noticed his silence. "No thank you?" Marcus asked and Jason suppressed his urge to jump him. "The only thing keeping you alive right now is that gun, Mr Night," Jason said. "Marcus," he corrected. "What?" Jason asked. "It's Marcus, not Mr Night. And there is no need to be salty about the gun." "You lied about carrying it. You might have lied about the gunmen too. Who knows with you? But still want a thank you?" Jason asked. "The gun was a different matter. I lied to calm you. I thought we still had time for me to convince you to come with me. Besides, the gun is not necessary when coming to visit you. Even without the gun, I can still kill you easily," Marcus said and Jason shivered and finally looked at him. He met cold eyes that made him still. "So you think you deserve a thank you," Jason said. "I put my company reputation on the line to protect you. So yes," Marcus answered. "What?" "Why Else would I release incriminating documents about my company?" Jason paused for a moment and sneered, "Bullshit!" "You don't seem as grateful as I thought you would be," Marcus answered and looked out the window. "I may not know you well, but I can still smell bullshit from a mile away. There is always an angle with you. Your reasons for tarnishing the reputation of your company is your own. Don't chain me to this," Marcus said. "True, I do have my motives, but I had many ways to accomplish them. But I chose the one that protects you. You are not hard to find, Jason. But at least now, no one would think I have you," Marcus said. "So you can cage me away somewhere with NK one looking then," Jason muttered. "You really have a bad impression of me, don't you?" Marcus said. Jason could feel Marcus' eyes boring into the side of his face, but he refused to look his way. The car returned to silence. Soon, they pulled upy at the docks. Noticing where they were, Jason frowned. "This can't be your home, can it?" He asked and Marcus chuckled. "I need to handle some transactions my little Lawyer," Marcus said and nodded to the driver. Several cars pulled up behind them. Men in dark suits walked out first, before Marcus stepped out he door. He held the door for Jason, who was reluctant to follow him. After muttering a curse under his breath, Jason stepped out of the car and followed them towards a container. As they approached, Jason could see men waiting there. "You came yourself, Marcus. I am honored," a man leading the group said. "We had a deal, didn't we?" Marcus asked. "I heard you had been attacked, so I thought you would be too busy. But all is well, I hope?" The man asked. Now close enough, Jason could see that the person speaking was wolf, whom he had met back in the club yesterday. "Is it complete?" Marcus asked. "Madam Lee sends her regards. She quite liked the present you sent her," Wolf said, exposing his white teeth. "Alright. Hand over the merchandise," Marcus nodded to his men and large wooden crates were carried over. "You deliver this to her. Tell her I sent a little extra. I want her to find me that package," Marcus said. "Madame Lee did say to tell you she had it and would give it to you if you sweeten the pot. But I am not sure how sweet she wants it, so you two will need to meet. I will be indisposed for a while after this delivery," Wolf said. "The little extra will be to her liking. I can't meet her for now. Too many eyes," Marcus said. "What about the little Lawyer? He can be trusted to bring to you, right?" Wolf said looking at Jason. Jason felt his heart stop for a second. He wanted no part in this. "If he has some time, I could bring him to meet madam Lee. Unless the lawyer has somewhere to be," Wolf said. Jason wanted to protest. "There and back. No funny business," Marcus agreed before Jason could react. "My men will take you there and bring you back. If she likes what she sees, she will give you something bring it with you," Marcus ordered Jason and walked away without a word. Before Jason could process what was happening, Marcus had entered his car and driven away. Jason went blank as Marcus' men led him to another car and he got in. Jason could not breathe. His hands trembled slightly. He was not sure where he was being taken. A lot of things crossed his mind as the car moved forward. It was a thrifty minutes drive over, and the more time ticked on, the greater his fear. He cursed Marcus in his head as the car cam to as stop before a brutalist style building. He was led inside with Marcus' men. A small Asian woman stepped down from the staircase and looked at the men. "Marcus came?" She asked. "No Madam Lee. He sent his man though. He said he added a little extra. Something you will love. He asked about a package. He sent his man here to bring the package to him if you liked what you saw," Wolf said, gesturing towards Jason, as the crates were carried in. "Oh?" Madam Lee asked and hurried down the stairs as her long robe swooped around her. "Open them," she ordered and Marcus' men opened the wooden crates. The moment Jason turned as set eyes on the inside of the crates, he froze. Each large crate held a fully grown naked bloody man.Leon looked away sharply. His heart rate spiked. He could not believe it. This was Evan Mathews. Why did he not recognize him sooner? If he did, he would have abandoned him faster than he could breathe."Stop the car," Leon said. That hospital Evan had mentioned must be his territory. Leon was not stupid enough to go into Evan's territory again. He wanted nothing to do with him."What?" The driver asked, "We are not at the hospital yet.""Stop the car!" Leon practically shouted. The driver stopped and Leon got out quickly and shut the car behind him."Take him to the hospital. I have to go," he said, throwing a stack of cash into the car."What? I am not an ambulance!" The driver protested."I will add some extra. Send him to that Saint Patrick's hospital he had said. If you send him anywhere else, it's on you. Bye," Leon said and dashed away. What happens to Evan Matthews is not his business and will never be his business. Leon flagged another taxi and left quickly. The driver of the
Jason returned to his room after a while and changed into something comfortable. His mind was plagued by Zach's words. He was so distracted, he did not realize when Marcus had walked in."How did you get that injury?" He asked, grabbing Jasoncs arm. Only then did Jason notice he was there."Ugh...let go!" Jason said in irritation. He was angry for some reason and he did not know why."These are nails. Who did this?" Marcus asked."Your little fuck boy did it," Jason tore his hand away and continued dressing. His words annoyed Marcus."Speak clearly. I don't have a fuck boy," Marcus said with a frown."Really? Your lover threatens me and I am to believe you aren't tussling in bed with him?" Jason basically spat. Marcus' denial only angered him more. He was utterly irritated for no reason.Marcus grabbed his shoulder and forcefully spun Jason around to face him."Who did this?" Marcus asked."Some man named Zach. Claimed to be your right hand man, gone through think and thin. Angry at
Marcus looked up at him with a stiff face."Why do you ask this?" He said."You just seem familiar and I had a weird dream from back in University. Did you ever school there?" Jason asked."No. I went to Harvard," Marcus answered."Oh..." Jason nodded in response. The dream bothered him. He continued to look at Marcus intently."What?" Marcus asked."You have always talked as though I should know you, why is that?" Jason asked, "Do we know each other?"Marcus raised a brow."Jason, you father worked for my family. What do you think?" He asked and Jason paused. True. He had thought of that. But he always felt it wasn't just knowing themselves in passing. Maybe because of the dream, Jason suddenly started to feel suspicious about Marcus.Well, he always was. The man built a house to his taste which would take years to do. But Jason had never once doubted his memory. He had always thought Marcus was just some Psycho his father had invited into his life even from the grave. He never ques
Jason remained stuck in his dream. The scene changed. It was dark. He was now at camp and it was dark outside. That night, he ate with the students before going into to sleep. But sleep still deluded him. Jason ate some snacks in his tent and listened to music, hoping for sleep, but it never happened. Soon, he started watching a movie on his phone. He tossed all night till he felt pressed. Jason took off his ear piece and suddenly realized how silent the night was.He took out a lamp and carefully came out of his tent. There were bathrooms on the campsite, but it was quite a bit way from where they all slept. He glanced in the direction of Jessie and Layla’s tents and noticed no light inside, so he assumed they must have gone to sleep. Jason did not dare admit that for a man, he was afraid of the woods. For some reason he had always feared being here at night. He took in deep breath and looked in the direction of the toilets and started walking over.“It's just trees, it's just tr
Jason, who was till stuck in the dream frowned slightly. Marcus? The same Marcus? He tried hard to see the face of the person speaking, but could not see them clearly.Just then, a message entered his phone.“We told you to be respectful! Don’t mess with the blessings your sisters are expecting in the mail!” Kayla said. She could no more hold it in and stuck her head around her chair to look behind at Jason.“Do not let me spank you, child,” she warned and returned to her seat quickly. Being scolded, Jason decided he might as well tell them that he had already met their Eight Sin before. He paused his movie and wrote a long explanation. He even decided to confess that he had slipped up and mistakenly told Marcus that they called him the Eighth Sine. When Kayla and Jessie read his message, one of them exclaimed.“A child that commits sin and dares not tell his parents,” Jessie exclaimed loudly, that Jason could hear them from behind.“Look the child you raised has done?”Jessie blamed
The moment Zach left, a woman came out from the other room. She only had a bra on, leaving the rest of her body exposed. It was Lara."Why did you say it that way? It is quite easy for him to misunderstand," Lara said."He is bond to offend Marcus soon. It seems he would not let it go. Since it is inevitable, I might as well push him. You are not offended are you?" Denis asked her."If you give me what I want, I will keep my mouth shut," Lara said, climbing unto his lap."What?""I'm want a cut of his territory," she said and Denis pulled her in for a kiss.Leon woke up in a hospital a few hours later. His body felt as though he had been hit by a train. The moment he opened his eyes, two girls rushed to his side."You are awake!" They said and quickly called for the doctor. The doctor soon came to check on him."You have had quite a rough night, young man. With your injuries, would you like to call the police?" They asked.Leon paused at their words. Call the police on Evans Matthews?
